[redacted],It has come to our attention that your carrier has been delivering you Select "YES" product as requested.  However since your neighborhood is clearly marked for no soliciting, and our standard delivery practice for this product is in the driveway, your landlord has been picking it up and throwing it in the trash.  I understand that the district manager for the area was in contact with you, and will work with the carrier to place this product over your fence.  If you have any further issues with delivery please work with me directly. Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: My landlord has NOT been picking up and throwing away my paper because 1. They do NOT live on site and therefore they are not going to drive all the way over here from another city every Wednesday and Sunday to pick up my paper and throw it in the trash and 2. I have already spoke with my landlord who let me know that they have not been doing this because they know I requested this paper to be delivered. Stop putting the blame on someone else when it is CLEARLY the carrier and Idaho Statesman that are at fault. I love how the Idaho Statesman is putting the blame onto someone else because they cannot come up with a good excuse as to why I am not getting my deliveries as promised.
Sincerely,

March 2, 2018 Dear Sir or Madam: Mr. [redacted]'s complaint is in reference to the Idaho Statesman's renewal policy.  The Idaho Statesman makes every effort to communicate with our subscribers the need to cancel their subscription if they do not wish to renew.  This message is communicated in...

three different areas: 1.        On the back of all our renewal notices it states, "Your subscription will continue until you call to cancel."  2.        In the “How to Contact Us box” listed in the paper everyday it states “For your convenience, your subscription will automatically renew after the initial term at the current rate unless you tell us to cancel. 3.        Item 12 in our Terms of Services states: “If you have subscribed to the print edition of Idaho Statesman, your subscription will continue in effect after your initial subscription term unless and until you cancel your subscription or the account or service is otherwise suspended or discontinued pursuant to our Terms of Service. You must cancel your subscription before it renews to avoid any additional charges. We will bill the subscription period amount plus any applicable fees or taxes. If you cancel your subscription, any remaining monies on your account will be refunded. You can cancel your subscription by calling 208-377-6200.” Mr. [redacted] made the proper attempts to cancel his subscription at the end of the term. For unknown reasons the cancellation was not entered into our system. We have written off the accrued balance due and changed his account to cash only to prevent a future balance due.  In addition we have closed the account with A.R.M. collection agency. Attempts have been made to reach Mr. [redacted] as him and I have each left a message for one another on 3-1-18. Calls to Mr. [redacted]'s phone go straight to voice mail and one message was left for him 3-2-18. If I may be of further assistance regarding this matter, please let me know. Sincerely, Cris B[redacted] Relationship Services VIP Agent 208-377-6377 [redacted]@idahostatesman.com

[redacted],                Thank you for contacting the Idaho Statesman.   As per our conversation we appreciate your feedback and truly do value you as a reader and want to keep you.  We value journalism, and...

are passionate about finding ways to fund it.  As I am sure you know, the media has faced dramatic revenue declines in advertising in the past decades.  To respond to that, we have to charge our customers more than we historically have in the past.  The ones that pay less are offset by those who pay more.                 It is very hard to fund the journalists, sales reps, carriers and others who put out a publication that we believe is vital to our community.  Please know we are not trying to penalize anyone; we are trying to fund something we truly believe in, and we hope you believe in too.                 Dynamic pricing is not a perfect model, but we use it so we can get on new subscribers and hope that they eventually will stay with us and pay us the full rate.  Our published rate is $16 per week for 7 day  (We publish this rate daily in our paper).  Your billed rate was at a 13 percent discount.  As we have agreed, your rate will be reduced to $8.80 per week.                If you need further assistance you may reach me at [redacted]@idahostatesman.com or 208-377-6377. Sincerely,Cris B[redacted]Relationship Services VIP Agent

[redacted]Thank you for contacting the Idaho Statesman.  Please accept my apology that your newspaper has not been delivered as subscribed.  I've worked with the service team, and per our conversation this morning your delivery issues have been resolved.  For your inconvenience, I've...

credited your account for two weeks delivery.  If you have any further issues with delivery, please contact me directly for assistance.   Thank you for being a loyal Idaho Statesman subscriber.[redacted]

[redacted]Thank you for contacting the Idaho Statesman.  Per your conversation with our customer service department 1/14/16, the premium content days are not meant to surprise you.  As a one time good will, we have extended your expiration date to the original 3/12/16 date....

Premium dates and the amount to be charged are listed in the publisher's box in the front of the paper, generally found on page A4.  On these dates, all home delivery subscribers receive the additional content, and the charges will reduced the expiration date of the subscription.  Although it hasn't been completed, we are working on a process by which to roll the premium charges into the rate of the paper.   Please let me know if I may be of further assistance to you.  [redacted]
