The International Women's Leadership Association Reviews (31)

Thank you for the opportunity to share this information:
Prior to contacting you, [redacted] initiated a dispute with her credit card company We presented the facts and the timeline and the bank upheld our position Our response to them is herein added:
"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">April **, 2016
Merchant Services
SEQUENCE NUMBER: [redacted]
Dear Merchant Services Representative,
Joyce G[redacted] became a member of The International Women's Leadership Association (TheIWLA), on March **, 2016. Since that time, there has been no contact from [redacted] and therefore no request for credit
In direct response to your points : #We have neither received nor accepted returned merchandise from [redacted]: there is actually no merchandise to return!
#: There was no contact from [redacted] on March **, #3: During the recorded phone conversation between [redacted] and her Account Advisor she was properly advised of our cancellation policy; it was also stated in writing in her Welcome Package#9: There was no mention of anything being sent to [redacted] on an overnight priority basis. Her Welcome Package left our office on March **, – the very next day!
Please refer to EXHIBIT A: this is the result of an e-mail search through our system using [redacted] e-mail address. As you can see, there are no matches
Please refer to EXHIBIT B: this is the result of a search through our phone system. You can clearly see, we have made three calls to [redacted]; there are no inbound calls from her. Please see the notations; there was one conversation: March **, at which time [redacted] chose her membership
Again, [redacted] did not purchase merchandise; there is nothing to return as she alleges to have done. [redacted] transacted for participation in TheIWLA and continues to have all benefits and privileges of membership available to her
[redacted] profile has been published on our site at [redacted] since March **, 2016. [redacted] has ongoing editorial privileges along with on-demand access to our Concierge Services and Resource Center
[redacted] has been introduced through our social media platform, followed by almost 30,other women and her name will be published in the next edition of Inspirational Woman Magazine
[redacted] has been contacted by TheIWLA with opportunities for participation in Tele-classes which are part of her benefits: Please see EXHIBIT C : Constant Contact report showing what we have already mailed her: this is an ongoing process
So, you can see, there is no ‘merchandise' to return. [redacted] has her username and password giving her full access to all that she chose to participate in. In the creation of her program, we have incurred expenses – on her behalf – and with her authorization. These expenses are covered by her membership fee. Further, she is well beyond her right to request a credit as this timeWe are pleased to have [redacted] as a member and we look forward to continuing to service her account; she is not entitled to a credit at this time, nor was one ever requested
Thank you for the opportunity to provide this information and documentation

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this matter; I respectfully reply, as follows:
[redacted] states she became a member of TheIWLA at a local event in Wilmington, NC; we have never had an event in that local In fact, [redacted] became a member
"line-height: 1em;"> after having registered and providing her contact information She was contacted by the woman to whom her file had been assigned At that time and during a recorded telephone conversation, [redacted] chose to become a member and did so with a payment plan option; thus the ten monthly paymentsf $- which were completed in May, This all took place on July *, - which is after the dates she claims the problem occurred and after she claims to have spoken to us to cancelAs our name clearly states, we are an international organization, not a local oneA thorough search of our e-mail system indicates she never contacted us by e-mail, which she would have been instructed to do had she spoken with someone at the Concierge - which is the number she represents she calledA thorough search of our phone records (both inbound and outbound to [redacted]'s number) indicates a call with a duration of 12;came in on May **, That is when she spoke with Tara S[redacted], as she stated, and at that tine, [redacted] canceled [redacted]'s annual administrative fee of $59; her monthly payments had been paid in full, and [redacted] kept [redacted]'s program as is[redacted] further states that she did not receive any benefits She has been published on our site ([redacted]) since July *, 2015, was given a username and password to access other members as well as The Resource Center and has received more than notifications from us for tele-classes, webinars and assorted opportunities for her to participate in All of these benefits and privileges of membership remain hers and I invite her to contact me directly if I can assist her in implementing themWe look forward to continuing to service [redacted]'s membership and stand ready to do so Thank you

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
As of right now I have not seen any credit to my account but I will take the company at its word.  If the credit does not show up in my account by tomorrow I will be filing a new case.  I am not readily available by phone as I stated and my account information is on file already with the company and in response all the company had to do was respond to my email as I requested to inform me of their intention.  I thank you for such a quick response and look forward to my refund showing up by tomorrow at the latest which is the normal turn around time for credits with my bank.  Again I do thank you for your swift response.
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The calls can be pulled from my prior conversations that show that there are still outstanding issues and that there was a failure in service provided. I would like a refund of my membership and then and only then will I consider this issue resolved.
 Thank you.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

[redacted] chose to befcome a member of TheInternational Women's Leadership Associaiton on March **, 2014.
Her membership was arrnaged as a payment plan.  The first charge was on march **, 2014 in the amount of $294.95.
The scond payment ($109) was to be transacted on April **,...

2014.
The third - and final payment was due on May **, 2014.
On April **, 2015, I received an e-mai8l from [redacted] requesting to cancel her membership.
Additionally, she asked for a refund.
I personally responded to her e-mail and explained that a refund was not possible as it was well beyond her right to cancel and that cusotmized work had been done on her behalf and with her authorizatio0n, for which we incurred expenses.
I did, however, waive the remaining two payments and told her her membership would stayt "as is".
[redacted] has been published on our site since her memberhsip date:  March **, 2014.  She iw wholely aware of this.
She continues to have full rights of membership benefits and privileges and has already revvied numerous invitations, newsltter, magazine, tele-class opportunities,
 events, etc.
[redacted] saying she has not used the benefits is ceertianly beyond our ability to control.
I did speak with [redacted] this morning, having received a chargeback from her bank.
I called her as a courtesy; my call was not accepted as such.
She did state she would call everyone she knows and tell them about this matter:  I guess she started with you.
Thank you for the opportunityt o prvide this information.  If you would like to see the receipt of her membership as well as the e-mail she sent, I will be happy to provide them.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this matter once again.
My intention was to make it clear there was no refund due at this time.  The first contact we had from [redacted] was via e-mail on May **, 2016 - that is TEN MONTHS after she agreed to the terms of her program.
Our expenses to service her account continue and she has not acknowledged that she entered in to a payment plan (now fulfilled) for her program.
IN a sign of good-faith, I will authorize the refund of two of the ten months charges ($19.95 x 2 = $29.90) to settle this matter.
Be further advised that [redacted] continue to have all the benefits and privileges of membership.   Thank you.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here] I made several requests to cancel my membership and stop charging my cards. however, they kept doing charging me for over half a year. I want my money back.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
I will address [redacted]'s statements in the order in which she has made them; I believe the details are important as they represent facts and what is true.
[redacted] received a call form The International Women's...

Leadership Association on March [redacted] 2014; not on March **.
The call was in repsonse to her registration which we processed on March **, 2014;
[redacted] provided her contact informaiton, which we did not have prior to receiving her registration.
[redacted] states that she entered her file on April **; she actually entered her file on April **, 2014, as recorded in the 'usage' section of her file.
I do not know why she was not able to find her name and then she was.  A typo would make a diference, but by her own admission she successfully accessed her file.
We are not in control of the search engines, not the filters on anyone's computer.
Next, [redacted] addresses her "bio", which is actually the start of her profile.  It was clearly entered as the result of an approximate 11 minute inteview with her Account Advisor.  Ths is what she refers to as the lengthy conversation.  (The entire conversaiton began 12:43 PM and lasted just under 34 minutes.
During that time, [redacted] was properly advised that she has complete editorial privilege - all members do -  and that she can make addiitons, deletions, edits, etc so as to keep her profile relevant.
[redacted] expresses an opinion that our site is smoke and mirrors, an allegation I take great exception to.
Please be advised that I reviewed [redacted] conversation (she was properly advised that the conversaiton was recorded:  I would be happy to send it to you.)  All representations are true ad accurate and having spent only minutes on the site, [redacted] can, in no way, have accessed all the benefits and privileges of membership; that's  simply not posible.  New opportuities are delivered to our members regularly; again, this was explained in her original  conversation.
She expresses another opinion that our site is cumberosme.  I respect her right to that opinion; somethng never expressed by the thousands of others who have visited it and engage on it.
Upon receiving an e-mail requesting a refund, I perosnally phoned [redacted] within 11 minutes.
Her e-mail referred to our site as "what I purchased"  Her brick and mortar reference is, perhaps a misunderstatdning of my referring to a site (any site)as brick and mortar., you do not purchase the site!
The site is completely functional, despite [redacted]'s calling it dysfunctional!  Again, she clearly acknolwedges her abillity to view her file and change her password.
TheIWLA is proud of the work we do day in and day out in providing women from around the world the resources they need to move forward, personally and professionally.  This is not a mere 'representation' as [redacted] describes it; it is  fact.
Most disturbing in the call I shared with [redacted] was her reference to knowing how to take care of this. She said she had just begun and that what she had sent to me was nothing and that more was coming.  Indeed, it has.
As the [redacted] of TheIWLA I stand behind all we represent.  I do not cave to threats of action.  In fact, I supported [redacted]'s consumer rights and also told her TheiWLA has rights, as well.  I find it disrepectful to all parties that an easy to file complaint with the Revdex.com, with the express intent to disparage another party, is delivered to my e-mail within minutes with no outreach to the other party's position prior to being a documented complaint.
I am more than happy to provide the recoded conversations which clearly address the tone nd the purpose of this complaint.  Where nay I sned them?
Lastly, the information I perosnally provided to the Revdex.com to properly represent who we are was never added to our file  On that matter, I spoke with a [redacted].
Again, thank you for the opportunoty to shed proper light on this situation

Thank you for the opportunity to address this matter once again.
As [redacted] states, she and I did have a phone conversation during which she offered to forward the e-amils she refers to; I thank her for oding so.
There is a difference between stating to someone (as I did to [redacted]) that I had not received her e-mails and her admission to an inference  that equates to calling her a liar.  Our conversation was recorded and is available for review.
That stated, during our conversation, [redacted] acknowledged that she had been advised by her credit card company/bank that she had lost her dispute.  (I had responded to it on April 20, 206.)  All of her e-mail were subsequent to that date.
Should the Revdex.com require the details of her claims, I shall provide them thugh I chose not to do so at this time, nor in this place.
TheIWLA strives tirelessly to provide valuable resources and services to those, like [redacted], who choose to participate.  We have - and continue - to do so. These services have done so much for so many individuals as well as to the community, both on local and global basis.  The energy that we expend is gladly given toward that end and much preferred.
Thank you

[Your Answer Here]IT is impossible for me to attach files of the daily calls to a tracfone.  I would like a refund.  I am concerned that the use of my picture from from my personal website was used by this group without my knowledge.  The fact of the matter being, I would not have known that this group had even It is up to the Revdex.com to decide the ethics of the group's behaviour.

[redacted]

I have just shared two (2) conversations with [redacted].  [redacted] became a member of The International Women's Leadership Association (TheIWLA) on December **, 2015; more than 4 months ago.  Only when [redacted] was contacted by an Account Advisor to follow-up, did [redacted] state that she did not...

receive her Welcome Package but that she was given access to the site using her e-mail address, which recognized her as a member.  So, we are happy to know that [redacted] has not been denied any benefits and privileges of membership.[redacted] stated that she did not wish to participate.  That is her choice.  That does not, however, change the facts that work has been done on her behalf and with her authorization to create her program.  Many hands have participated in creating [redacted]'s membership and these people are paid with [redacted]'s membership fee.
[redacted] was advised she and I were on a recorded call, which I am happy to make available to you.  [redacted] politely asked if her fee could be refunded.  When I explained the situation, she appreciated it and said she did not wish to waste her time, nor mine.  [redacted] was reminded of the value of having on-demand access to The Resource Center and I encourage her to use it. [redacted] is considered a member in good standing and we will continue to service her account.
Thank you for he opportunity to share this information.

[Your Answer Here]
from my conversation with  " woman to whom my file had been assigned." I was sure the organization had a local affiliation. As soon as I received the document package in the mail, I realized my mistake and asked to cancel my membership. Also, at the moment of that conversation, I was charged $115. That does not sound right – one-time charge of $115 and monthly payments later. Was I charged twice?
"[redacted]"
[redacted]: here is a piece of email from them (I have only called until that day):
Mon 4/**/2016 12:35 PM/ [redacted]
“.[redacted]
[redacted]”

I expected they stop charging me as there was no further replies. However, the next month another charge came, so I called again and after the next phone conversation, I received another one:
Mon 5/**/2016 10:22 AM/ [redacted]
“[redacted]”

As instructed, I sent the cancellation request by email:
Mon 5/**/2016 11:01 PM/ to [redacted]
“… I do request that the International Women’s Leadership Association:
1)    Cancels my membership, account no [redacted]
2)    Return the money paid since the beginning of my membership, as should be done after my first call.
If I do not receive the confirmation of cancellation with 3 business days, I will contact Revdex.com and FTC.”
I did not get any responses by email, but still was charged next month.
Mon 5/**/2016 4:36 PM /[redacted]
“.. [redacted]  [redacted]
[redacted]”
I do not have a record of my phones call, but email from 4/**/2016 (above), shows that conversations happened before May **, 2016. Besides, I asked for full cancellation, very clearly. I am not even aware of “administrative fees”

benefits:
I found all their emails in my junk email box, filtered by Microsoft spam filter. I attach the example. I have not used ANY of these “benefits” and do not need them, as I stated so many times.

I clearly stated that I do not wish to be a member and I do not use these “privileges”. I made the cancellation request several times by phone and emails.
I had to go through the inconvenience of changing my credit card account. Please help me to return my money.

from the IWLA.Sincerely,[redacted]

Our sincere apology,  [redacted].  While we cannot verify from whom the e-mail was received, we will do everything on our end to make sure we do not contact you.
Additionally,  I would like to share some information  about TheIWLA to give you a sense of the positive impact...

we have on the lives of many...thank you for takng the time to read it.  Kind regardsThanks to the influence of TheIWLA, the proposal for a television docu-series about women launching businesses moved from concept to pre-production and funding!  It’s actually being shopped through networks as we speak! Right through our very own members, we have shed necessary light on the conditions of women in such places as Napal… we raised funds to give women greater social status by teaching gifting from the bottom – which we learned from a member! That’s GREAT networking! We were the first to sign a petition granting rights to Grandparents to protect      Grandchildren in harms – which we hope will become law!   Because of TheIWLA, meetings were made possible between industry-leaders and members with the potential for joint ventures going forward!   We published our first book in our “HERspectives” series; a collection of compiled stories shared among our members to motivate and inspire other women – we will be creating best-selling authors!   TheIWLA was first to reach-out to other organizations in an unprecedented campaign to create collaborative partnerships so more women could benefit in more ways. We believe in collaboration over competition: this was a true breakthrough!   We have published many members in Inspirational Woman Magazine, then TheIWLA bought it and has created an even more meaningful publication read by people around the world.  By the way, a member of TheIWLA is always on the cover an many other members are featured in articles!   We continue to connect women to the resources they require to meet their day-to-day needs while making it possible to expand long-term goals.  These connections can be game-changers and not likely made without the support of TheIWLA! We have coached and mentored countless women in need of information and support to take their next – or first – step in developing their businesses, creating their brand, and expanding their reach!   Our Executive Director has represented TheIWLA on many stages, on radio and TV – she is known for her motivational speaking – AND she makes herself available to our members! TheIWLA has even been represented at women’s forums at The United Nations!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

First, I'd like to note the lack of professionalism in the response
to my complaint. There are MANY spelling errors. I have no idea what "work
was done on my behalf".  But,
apparently this "work done on my behalf" costs me $294.95 and a
forced membership to an organization. I find this hard to believe since I do
not have any documentation of any work done on my behalf, and who it was done
by. I still have NO DOCUMENTATIONA AT ALL from this organization, even after
they charged me. I’m also a bit baffled that in the response from the IWLA, a
receipt of my membership was offered to the Revdex.com. Why has no receipt been
offered to ME for MY membership?
“[redacted]
has been published on our site since her memberhsip date:  March **, 2014.
She iw wholely aware of this.
She
continues to have full rights of membership benefits and privileges and has
already revvied numerous invitations, newsltter, magazine, tele-class
opportunities,
 events,
etc.
[redacted] saying she has not used the benefits is ceertianly beyond our ability
to control.”
In response to the above statement, I called on 4/**/14 to CANCEL my
membership and receive a refund. Since I never received a welcome packet or ANY
documentation for that matter, I had ZERO access to membership benefits. I was
informed I could not cancel my membership and could not get a refund. I stated
at least 10 times on this call I did not want this membership, and that I
wanted to CANCEL (and my I add, I have been informed MANY times these calls are
recorded, so I’m positive my cancellation requests are available). So, being
told that my next two payments would be waived, but I will not get a refund for
the first payment and I would still be a member, is NOT what I requested. I
requested CANCELLATION of my membership because I did not receive the welcome
packet I was promised, any membership access information, etc. and I did not
want to be a member of such an organization that handles situations the way
this is being handled. I am being forced to be a member and to pay for it. I
had also asked multiple times that my being “published” on their website be
removed because I do not want to be a member, and thought my requests to cancel
membership would cancel my membership and remove my name from the website. Again,
I never had access to this “publication” because I never received my welcome
packet (as promised) or any information about my membership, including my
account number, website login information, list of member benefits, receipt of
membership payment, etc. In response to my request for my publication to be
taken down because I do not want to be a member and have attempted to cancel my
membership, I was told it would not be taken down until our “issue” is
resolved. I find it completely unethical to force someone to be a member of
your organization and not allow them to cancel and refuse to take down their
information on your website. I want nothing to do with this organization after
I have seen how they operate, do business and deal with “members”. I want a
refund for the amount I was charged for a membership I was never able to use,
and attempted to cancel at the earliest possible date due.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

I have more than 5 unsolicited emails from the IWLA wanting me to confirm my spot with them, I'm not interested being a man and would like them to leave me alone.

In response to the complaint of [redacted], I respectfully respond, as follows…
What I am setting out to do is to create the actual timeline, state was is fact and refute the many
allegations made my [redacted].  I will address [redacted]’a claims in the order she stated them…
Above is the phone record of all calls made to [redacted].  She stated that she ignored many calls: please note there were only two completed phone calls to her 8/** and 8/**.  This refutes her claims that up to 3 calls were made/day, which she follows by her stating she is a disabled person, a fact we certainly had no knowledge of as we dialed her phone number, nor would it have made a difference.  We were actually only dialing her phone number is response to her submitted registration, dated July **, 2014.
[redacted] continues to misrepresent the facts as the phone records clearly show the call that came into our office on the day she elected to become a member was an incoming call.  She did not “give-in” , as she states, she responded to the message left for her…further refuting that she ignored our calls.
TheIWLA does not comport itself with hard-nosed sales tactics.  We do not cold call.  We only speak with those women who have asked us to do so; [redacted] was one of them.  Of course, it is also impossible for a woman in New York to coerce a woman in Virginia – or anywhere – to do something she does not want to do.  How could that even be alleged?
The actual call between [redacted] and her [redacted] lasted less than one hour.  During that time, [redacted] provided a significant amount of information about herself to such detail as to mention she is a member of the [redacted] and [redacted] and that she began to play the piano at the age of 3!
She also spent a good amount of time explaining that she worked in a building where a lingering condition existed that affected her greatly, then went on to say there was an explosion, resulting in her being disabled.
[redacted] failed to mention that full membership at TheIWLA is (was) $747 (at that time) and that because of assorted issues, her [redacted] reworked the programs and made it possible for her to participate for $199.   This refutes her “to stop the calls”, she agreed to pay.  Remember, SHE CALLED US.
[redacted] accuses TheIWLA of preying on the elderly and disabled.  I personally and professionally take great exception to this categorization.  Race, religion, political opinion, age, etc., have no place in our mission or in our way of conducting operations.
[redacted]’s next  false statement is that she was told she would be charged $59 “for the rest of her life”. The annual administrative fee is always subject to cancellation at the request of the member and instructions to cancel are included in the Welcome Package each member receives.  Of course, [redacted] claims not to have received it!  It was not returned to us!  She also mentioned she had been in Europe…
THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT TO CANCEL AT THAT POINT.  [redacted] continues in libelous and slanderous fashion to state that the $199. + 15.95 (S/H) had already been transacted.  Not so; actually impossible as the woman with whom she had the conversation has no means by which to transact a financial matter!

We did hear from [redacted]  - 1 day short of a full month after she had become a member!  She began by stating her disabilities and more than suggested she had been treated as less because of her disability.  That was the first time I became aware that she is disabled.  By the way, not the first or only member of TheIWLA with disabilities!!
During that conversation she stated we had ruined her international reputation as an artist!  I really can offer no other information as I do not understand her comment!  Our conversation continued and I told her I needed to review her call (not knowing at that time that she had called us and that, therefore, the call was not recorded.)  I told her I would phone her back.  She told me I was only able to call her between 2 and 7 P.M.  – because she is disabled and I thanked her for educating me on the fact that disabled persons can only be contacted between certain hours.  That was son 9/**/14
On 9/**/14, I phone her back during the appropriate hours.  It was during this conversation that I told her I had come to learn that she had called us and therefore the call I hoped to review was not recorded It was during this conversation that she asked (and I quote ), “What don’t you ([redacted]) understand about disabled persons?”  I responded that I am keenly aware (based on personal experienes)!
I receive a series of redundant  e-mails from her.  By this time, we had already deleted her profile, as she requested.  The refund she requested is not due to her and she acknowledged so in one of her e-mails.
[redacted] goes on to state she received nothing form us.  We confirmed via Constant Contact that we had sent her 46 e-mails (information, invitations, announcements, magazine) within the first month alone!
As her complaint states, she uses something called [redacted] out of Frankfurt….not at all familiar with this service!  She references a copyrighted picture.  During the conversation with her [redacted], as in all of our calls, we ask for a picture and offer to use a picture currently on line.
NOW, I must address what [redacted] implies to be a misrepresentation of who I am.  I am [redacted]
[redacted].  I have always used my maiden name in business and go by [redacted].  My business e-mail address is [redacted].   I spend some time traveling an attending meetings outside the office.  During those times, my e-mails are forwarded to my personal e-mail address, which is [redacted].  In the interest of time and out of respect for people who need my attention, I often respond from that e-mail address.  I am one among millions who do this! To jump to an implication of impropriety is not only false, but hurtful.
TheIWLA works tirelessly to provide meaningful services to women from around the world.   [redacted] clearly saw value in those services on August **, 2014 at which time she elected to beocme a member and provided payment.  TheIWLA provided all of those services and remained positioned to continue to do so until such time as [redacted] requested to be removed.  We honored that request.  That does not negate the services provided to create her membership, publish her profile, and open the line of communication that created 46 e-mails within one month.  Costs were incurred on her behalf – and with her authorization -  to initiate and provide those services.  Professionals were paid to be part of that process.  She was long past her right to request a refund.
I would very much like to send you the recorded conversations; I believe that would shed a bright light on this matter.
The time taken to address this response is highly disproportionate to her payment of $214.95, for which no profit is realized, but it was necessary to take the time.
I will not be bullied by threats or demands, nor will I dishonor all that TheIWLA represents to women by taking the easy way out.

I am sorry [redacted] chose to delete her files with us, but I honor her right to do so.  I send her good wishes and want her to know TheIWLA is here for her, should be chose to reactivate.
Further, TheIWLA would like to make a donation to a recognized charity of [redacted]’s choice that provides services to disabled persons in the amount of $199.
Respectfully,
[redacted]
