I signed up to receive the Sunday paper for couponsIn the months I had a subscription I received coupons on occasion onlyI called and placed several complains and nothing was resolvedI then decided to cancel my subscription which I already had pre-paid forI was told I could not receive any refunds which was fineEver since I cancelled my subscription I have been receiving phone calls on a daily basis with offers to sign up for the newspaper delivery againI have told them several times that I do not wish to sign up for it again because they do not provide the services that they are supposed toI have made several phone calls with this complaint and I have also filed a complaint on their [redacted] page which they have responded to me with a direct message saying that I was no longer going to receive any phone callsI have still been receiving phone calls, on a daily basis and sometimes several times a dayIt has gotten to the point where I feel like they are harassing me

My credit card was billed for a subscription that I did not approve
The subscription may have been an 'add on' in small print to a promotion where I agreed to receive the sunday paper for a certain period When I saw the bill on my credit card statement, I contacted this company on 11/14/and advised them that I did not wish to receive the paper any longer and to cancel the subscription The charge was for $and since I had received some papers I agreed to a credit of $to be placed on my credit card with the customer service rep whose name was Dakota
Dakota advised me that it may take up to days for the credit to be on my credit card This is clearly an unacceptable length of time but I accepted it
I checked my CC on 2/and found that no credit had been applied from this company at all I contact them again on 2/22/and was told the credit was on the account but had not been processed yet and the rep did not know why and could not process it for me Sh

Despite me calling times to have a Sunday paper from 05/15, and been promised to have the paper delivered every time I called the next dayAnd also talked to the superviser my paper was never deliveredVery, very very dissapointed with them

On or about 2-12-our subscription was paid in the amt of $for weeks (subscription was paid to approx 6-3-18)Paper was stopped for period 2-thru 3-4-for vacation but was delivered on 2-& 2-Paper was to start again on 3-5-No paper was delivered and despite calling customer service, no paper was delivered thru 3-9-On 3-customer service was advised to cancel subscription and refund $Asked how long a refund would take, we were told 1-weeksOn 3-called customer service asking if refund was sent and was told that subscription was not cancelled (no paper was rec’d during this period)Cancelled subscription again and was told refund takes 4-weeks!!!! At this point 1/weeks have passed with no papers delivered, no refund and we have to wait an additional 4-weeks!! This is not proper business practice to be refunded money paid up front for service

How they do subscription for delivery of newspaper Offered week subscription September 18th which was ending approximately 12/31-01/01/ On October 2nd & October 30th charged my credit card without my authorization When I called to ask about these they said that I had been signed up for EZ pay I had not agreed to that & told a supervisor that I had just paid for weeks September 18th He informed me that the offer was not a valid offer & he wouldn’t refund those charges He then told me my subscription was through February 9th I decided to receive the paper until then & then cancel February 5th I received an email telling me that my subscription ended January 28th & to contact the subscription service department I then called & was told by Anthony that a bill had been mailed to me on January 15th He said that it cost for that mailing & because of that they took weeks off my subscription which I had paid for I ne

[redacted] had an issue with be charged for a subscription renewal. She had signed up for a subscription back in November as an ez-pay customer. This is a reoccurring payment plan. Subscriptions are continuous. Once she called to stop she should have been refunded right away. Looks like the customer service rep that processed the stop did not process the refund. When I received the notice of this I immediately processed what was due to her, $126.50. I left her a couple messages and we missed speaking with each other. One of our supervisors spoke to her this weekend. This should resolve the issue. [redacted]

Review: Today I received a notice from a collection agency that my account with the News Times was "seriously past due". It stated I owed 55.60. I first called the collection agency, but was forced to leave a message as "all agents were busy". I then called the News Times and after verifying who I was was asked" how can I help you today". I informed them I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency stating my account was overdue and they were looking for payment. The agent confirmed yes my account was past due, payment was due 9/5/13. I then informed the agent I sent payment via mail and never received any notification there was a problem or that they never received it, no email, no phone call, nothing else by mail. I have had serious issues with delivery since moving to my house in 2011. I do not believe this is how a business should operate. I settled my bill with the News Times over the phone today and they said they would contact the collection agency and inform them of that.Desired Settlement: my personal credit and financially history is very important to me. I am looking for a letter form the news times to the collection agency stating that I was not notified by the News Times that payment was not received and therefor without proper notification, the collection agency was notified without just reason. Review: This is the third time I had a issue with this newspaper and it's delivery. On 12/1/2015 I ordered up a subscription for this paper for a 13 week period. On 12/2/2015 I received a delivery of this paper at it's correct time. On 12/3/2015 I did not receive a paper and called to register my complaint. Hours later when I did not receive my paper I called to speak to their C/S representative, but instead asked for a supervisor, reaching this person only after having to explain everything to an operator, I was not connected to this supervisor directly. I explained my problem about not receiving my paper on time. The lady (Francis) told me that she would see to it that one was sent to me directly. The entire day went by and I still did not receive my paper. I called again late in the afternoon to express my total disgust with this paper and it's delivery process, and that I wanted my paper within the next hour. My paper was not delivered until the next day along with the paper of that morning. In my call in the late afternoon I cancelled my paper. This was the third time that I had ordered this paper only to cancel it because they could not deliver the product to me on time. I have never received so much as an apology or even any type of compensation for all my trouble. I believe that this newspaper does not care about it's clients in this area as far a providing good customer service to them.Desired Settlement: That if I ever order a subscription again that the paper be delivered to me on a timely basis and everyday as ordered without interruption. That if for any reason it cannot be done, that I be notified in advance of this.

Review: We change our newspaper subscription to Sunday delivery only at a price of $1/week ($4/4 wks). On the date that the change was to take place we received a credit card charge of $11.40 (3/30/15). Then 7 days later we received another credit card charge for $11.40. On 4/6/15 after the second charge and only 1 paper delivery we called to completely cancel and requested a refund of both charges as the charges are pre-paid before delivery. Since that date we have called customer service 4 time, been promised a refund in 48 twice, a call from a manager once and a call from the Billing department twice. To date no refund, or calls have been returned. I have spoken with 2 separate supervisors from customers service with no results, and a different story and promise, yet nearly 3 weeks after canceling we still have not been refunded and no one in customer service not billing has identified a time, nor stated they would refund the money.Desired Settlement: Refund both $11.40 charges.

Review: I moved out of Connecticut and I am due a refund for the automatic payment out of my checking account for my paper subscription of over $58.00. I requested this refund back in April 2012. It has almost been a year of frustrating calls, US Mail, emails, Letter to Editor of paper. I have called most numbers listed for the News Times and I get no calls back, no refund mailed, no response. I can't get past the rep who answers the phone calls - she states she will always pass it on to her supervisor, billing department, etc - but nothing comes of it. I ask for a reason why I cannot get a refund and the answer is the same - someone will check into it and call me. No call back!! I want my refund that I am due. Honestly, I should get interest for their holding my refund money hostage for a year and I should get reimbursed for the time and effort and frustration that I have put into attempting to get my refund!!

Review: I paid for the newspaper to be delivered to my home for half a year and for the past week it has not. I have called and emailed them several times and was able to get a person on the phone a few times. 1st time lady told me she would take care of it and email me the supervisors number that turned out to be an advertisement number. 2nd time lady said she would take care of it and credit me 2 weeks. 3rd time I canceled service and was issued a credit for the remainder but she did not see the 2 week credit I was told I got a few days earlier. cant get through on the phone numbers, service reps are more worried about telling me about there ages and that they are to busy to handle my call. and no one there cares about me the consumer.Desired Settlement: total refund promised and an apology from them.

Review: Erratic in the delivery of said newspaper.. Personally went down to the office on Main St and requested immediate stopping of delivery and requested a written verification of same... Totally ignored my request and are still delivering said papers Irradically...I tried calling but no one answers the phone .. you get a machine...I dont want to pay for something I no longer want...Desired Settlement: Stop delivery and charging for paper...

Review: We are consistently having delivery issues with this newspaper. A record of our complaints are in the computer of this business as every time I call, they already know how many times I've called previously for the same reason. This week, March 20, 21 and 22 (today) we have not received the News Times newspaper. I've called every day and asked for a District Manager to return my call. I've not heard from him but his name is Dave Parks. We had pre-paid for the paper for the next year in advance and are not receiving satisfactory service. We are not even receiving what they call "recovery" service. This means someone will come out to deliver the missed paper during that day. I want this problem addressed and fixed once and for all. I'm sorry to say that this is a perfect example of a business that does not care about Customer Service. I am disappointed that this is the only local daily newspaper distributed for my area. If there were another daily paper, I would surely choose it.

I would like a refund for each and every time I called to say I didn't receive a newspaper. They have it on file. As it is impossible for me to document every time, I can document many of the times I have written down and taken the names of whom I've spoken to. If this is not possible, then I want a refund for at least the last 3 papers not received of which I have documentation.
