The Resort Place Reviews (27)

Our family purchased a vacation from Resort Place Travel in December 2015 booking our condo for May 2016. We received a printed form from Dora but it was not worth the paper it was printed on. I called many times getting no answer and when I did finally obtain her personal cell phone she answered but lied about having our condo booked. She lied over and over (a very convincing liar I may add). We ended up paying more than we normally would for our condo plus we still have not received the promised refund of our money. Don't come near these people. It is a lie. Every negative thing you may have read about this company is all the absolute truth. Those who did receive their vacation were fortunate. I did see where it was at the expense of someone else.

Found out about The Resort Place through a Groupon in 2015. Booked 3 one-week vacations for $899. First 2 vacations were to be taken concurrently in Florida March 5-12, 2016. When my party arrived in Florida, Dora E., owner of The Resort Place, had "switched" our accomodations from the 2 2-bedroom condos we had booked to a house rental without my permission or consent. When told she needed to place us back into our originally-booked condos, she told us "that will be a problem". She had already given away those reservations, thinking we would want to stay in the house instead. We made her find us condos in Treasure Island, similar to what we had originally booked. Instead, she found us accomodations in Madeira Beach, in a resort that was undergoing reconstruction. Not only did we have to move furniture off the balconies into our units each night, listen to construction noise at 8 am each morning, but the elevators were not working the entire time we were there. Try walking up/down 84 steps each time you needed something in your unit! We were promised by Dora, since she could find nothing better for us to stay in, that we would be refunded $600 for these "2" vacations and a check would be waiting for us when we returned home. We returned home March 12 and I have been calling Dora every week since then, trying to find out where our refund is. She has given me a complete runaround with excuses ranging from the fact that she had been out sick from the office to she needed to check with Accounting as to why the check wasn't sent to finally: the company had made some bad vacation deals with a group of Russians who were overly demanding and as soon as they refunded all their funds she would be able to send me a check.
Countless other excuses were made as well. All along I kept reiterating that I did not want this screwup with our Florida vacation and ensuing "nonrefund" of our $600 to jeopardize my final vacation In North Carolina July 29-August 6, 2016. And each time I was reassured this would not affect that and that the July vacation was already booked and accomodations would be ready and waiting for our arrival. Even so, in early July, I began calling Dora DAILY, to reconfirm our vacation at the end of the month as well as to keep inquiring about our refund. By July 15, I could no longer receive a live person when calling the business on 2 of their phone lines, Only a recording saying all representatives were on other lines, please leave a message and your call will be returned. The third phone line had been disconnected. And, needless to say, my phone calls, text messages and emails were never returned.
Unwittingly trusting The Resort Place and Dora E., my group and I went ahead in March and booked an additional 3-week vacation package for 2017 for an additional $899. We never should have trusted her in the first place, so now we are out $899 for our vacation package for 2016 AND $899 for another package for 2017.
My group and I sincerely hope that no one else is scammed by Dora E. and the Resort Place in the future. I tried calling Groupon and giving them a heads-up to stop advertising for her but they did not seem interested in what I had to say.

After receiving emails for months my husband and I purchased two vacation packages from Dora E. at the resort place for 699.00. I called up and said I wanted to purchase and also make a reservation. She took my credit card and instead of charging the 699.00 she charged 503.72 and did it through Expedia. She strung me along, told me every lie she could come up with and never sent me a reservation after several phone calls and emails. Coming up on a week before the vacation was to happen with no communication and no one answering the phone calls I figured out she is a scam artist. How awful!! Come to find out when I got my credit card bill she stole my credit card number and booked something through expedia for someone other than us.

My wife and I bought a vacation package from Dora and Jay E. and booked two vacations. The first one went fine and the second one was a nightmare. we showed up and nothing was paid for, she lied to us over the phone and promised us payment if we paid for it AGAIN out of our own pocket, and then on tuesday of that vacation we found out I had a pending warrant for MY arrest for theft of services be she contested the charges on the credit card from the FIRST vacation. I have had hours and hours invested in defending my name because of the people. These people are horrible people and I am out $3800 from them.

Dora Edmson is a scam artist if it's to good to be true it is. I would strongly advise anyone who is considering going with The Resort Place travel for your next vacation DONT DO IT !!!! My family went through 6 weeks of of pure hell filled with promises and lies that never ended with a vacation after purchasing the vouchers that Dora / The Resort Place sold. I cannot stress enough that this woman and her company are filled with lies and empty promises DONT use this company.

We have used resort place for three weeks of vacation. All have been very good. Everything was prepaid and taken care of advance. We would definitely use this company again. All stays were at great locations, south padre, las vegas, and treasure island. Dave p.

We purchased the vacation package from Dora E. at the Resort Place. I received a confirmation voucher for the week in Florida Memorial Day weekend at Lands End Resort St. Pete's Beach. Upon flying in from Colorado we had not had heard back from The Resort Place even after multiple emails, text and phone calls. We finally called from a different phone number and DORA answered. She said, "I do not have the money to pay for your condo and have not reserved anything for you at this time." We were in Florida with no place to stay on Memorial Day weekend! I had my vouchers, reservation confirmation and credit card payment information but Lands End had not heard anything from Dora regarding booking a condo for us. Luckily we were able to book a condo for the week on our own paying 5x more than expected. Not Happy! She should not be in business!!!!
