The Spokesman Review Reviews (44)

Review: I have asked the Spokansman Review on 5 consecutive requests to stop "opt out" of the delivery of there "Pinch" newspaper that get thrown on my lawn. This is littering, I don't read the advertisement filled paper and travel out of town quite often so it stacks up on my lawn. This makes me appear to be not a home at puts me at risk for break in not to mention I don not like having to pick them up off my lawn. I am not an eccentric complainer I have taken the time out of my busy day to write this complaint for I have called them 5 times to be taken off their route. The Last person I spoke to "[redacted]" I believe was very nice and assured me that I would be taken off and this would never happen again.I have had enough and have researched opt out laws a little and if I can get enough off a case together I plan to sue the Spokansman Review for this or at least get them sited for littering, trespassing, or soliciting, something.Thank you for your time.[redacted], Associate Advisor [redacted]###-###-####Desired Settlement: I want Spokansman Review to leave me alone and for someone to be held accountable for this repeated harassment.

Business

Response:

This is in response to the Pinch delivery complaint from [redacted]

The Spokesman-Review contracts with individuals to deliver products to addresses that have requested the products. Mr. [redacted] address is not on any delivery list that has been provided to our independent contractor. [redacted] is in fact on the Do Not Deliver list. We have documented this and previous complaints from Mr. [redacted] and are again contacting the delivery person for the area to insure no delivery occurs at his address. If further deliveries occur at [redacted] the current delivery persons contract will be terminated immediately.

We will continue to do everything possible to insure our products are not delivered to [redacted]. District Manager [redacted] will personally check this address on Wednesday mornings for the next two weeks to help insure unwanted deliveries do not occur at this address. Our intent is to insure deliveries do not occur in the future and we will never add this address to a delivery list provided to our contractors.

Sincerely,

Distribution Manager

Review: The Spokesman-Review repeatedly litters my property with "The Pinch," which is a collection of coupons and advertisements, I believe. I am not and never have been subscribed to their paper. I have called three times to ask them to stop throwing their trash on my property. The last time, I found The Pinch on my front lawn on Tuesday morning. This is after calling to complain on Sunday (8/18). I believe that it is being left on my property as retaliation by the carrier.Desired Settlement: I want to never see their garbage on my property again. And if I find it there, I want them to come clean it up themselves.

Business

Response:

I have contacted the carrier that delivers this area, [redacted] on route [redacted], and instructed her to stop the deliveries of Wednesday and Sunday PINCH to the address: [redacted]. I will also drive by the address next week to insure Pinch is not being delivered. I also put the address on the “hot list” for future carriers when we have a new carrier start this route. The address is already listed as a NO in or system for Pinch (see address screen below) and the address is on the NO PINCH DELIVERY list (see below) so they should not have received. The address has been on our NO PINCH list below for quite some time so carrier was not instructed to deliver there prior to residents contact with Revdex.com. [redacted]

Review: I have repeatedly called the Spokesman-Review (5 times) to say that I don't want to "receive" their "Pinch" advertising circular that is thrown in my driveway every week. If anyone else did the same thing, they would be charged with littering. Why does a business get to do it? I have filed a Revdex.com complaint in the past, as well. The delivery would stop for a month or two and then start up again. What more can I do about this? Maybe I should start throwing my garbage in their building entrance.Desired Settlement: I would like this delivery stopped PERMANENTLY, FOREVER, UNTIL THE END OF TIME!!

Response:

We will address the unwanted/unrequested Pinch delivery to [redacted] with the independent contractor that delivers to this area.

We did provide a list of requested deliveries to the contractor and this address is not on the delivery list.

We will have our District manager check this address over the next two weeks to insure Pinch is not delivered to this home.

Review: We keep having a problem with delivering the pinch ad newspaper and littering our lawn with it over and over again. We have asked numerous times to be removed from getting this trash thrown on our private property. We where told by [redacted] this would stop ever time but then there is another one weekly thrown into our yard. Then we were where told by the district manager [redacted] that again this would stop and it has not.Desired Settlement: Stop throwing this paper here and come pick up your trash off our property.

Response:

We apologize that we have not resolved this issue. As it happens, we had 2 records in our system for this address. While we instructed the carrier not to deliver to this customer, the other record continued to appear on the route list. We have updated our system and expect that this will resolve the problem. A manager will check the address for the next 3 weeks to assure that the carrier complies. [redacted]Director of Circulation and Audience Development

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business' response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

[redacted] Hope fully this will resolve it this time. Perhaps the manager could also note some addresses that have multiple pinch papers laying around and stop adding more to those addresses as well and help clean up the city.
