Review: I had a two year subscription with TheStreet.com with an automatic renewal. TheStreet.com renewed my subscription for for one year at the same cost as my previous two year subscription. At no time did they notify me that they were going to renew my subscription for only one year but at the price I previously paid for a two year subscription. When I discovered the renewal was for only one year, I called to cancel the subscription but was told I was too late to cancel and that I could not get a prorata refund.Desired Settlement: TheStreet.com should issue a prorata refund.

Review: Earlier in 2014 I signed up for a $49 Three Month Trial subscription. After being inundated with junk financial emails I was sent a bill on 7/**/14 from this firm for $249.95. I called and explained that I wanted a complete credit and did not care to receive anything further from this firm. I asked them to take me off their distribution list. I thought I was givena full credit, but now that I look back at my statement I see than they only credited me for $200. On 10/**/14 $299.95 was taken out of my checking account without my permission. I didn't want the subscription and service I never requested it. The fact is back in July I let them no in no uncertain terms that I wanted to be removed from all of their distribution lists. I ontine to get all kinds of junk from them. In July when I called theit customer care people were very accomodating, although I see that thet did not give me a full credit. Today I talked to 3 people from their firm and they were rude and not helpful. I am looking for your assistance to get a full return of the funds that they have been charging me. This appears to be a very shady operation.Desired Settlement: Complete refund of the $49 that was not returned to me back in July, full refund of the $299.95 that they withdrew from my account on October [redacted]. I also, want a written conformationfrom them that I have been removed from all of their mailing lists.

Review: I had annual subscription to Action Alerts Plus (AAP) service from TheStreet.com. They tried to renew service in late June but since my credit card had expired were not able to. I did not bother to give them the new information as I did not want to renew. A week later they somehow charged my account anyways. Once I found out I called to cancel service. The rep ([redacted]) said there was no way to issue a full or even PARTIAL refund. In the new subscription year I have not even used one month our of the year and I asked for a refund of the remaining 11 months. But the answer was NO. The rep kept referring me to the "terms". I find this term unjust because I have received NO SERVICE from the company for the 11 out of 12 months and I should be able to cancel. This too after they recharged an expired credit card information. Sounds like a definite scam to me. Please help.

AAP Service is under my email [redacted] (account ID)Desired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund $475. If not, I would like to receive a refund for the 11 months of service I have not used.

Review: My complaint concerns the renewal policy of The Street, Inc. Because I(my age is in the 70's)did not tell them or contact them (they sent e-mails unnoticed or trashed by me)that I did not want to renew the subscription for another year, The Street, Inc. went ahead and charged my credit card (they kept it on file after my first year) for $599.95. The reason I did not want to subscribe is that their investment strategy does not meet my investment goals. When I saw the charge on my bill, I immediately called to let them know I did not want to subscribe another year. It did not matter as I was told that it was their rules and it cannot be changed. They offered a $100.00 refund, but only on the card they had on file. Too bad for me , as I already canceled that card so it wouldn't happen again next year. They would not apply the refund to a different credit card which might be good thing as I wouldn't want them to have any card of mine on file again. I would hope [redacted] would have better business practices as he always says he's looking out for the individual investor.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the $599.95 for the second year subscription. Actually, I was not even satisfied with the first year because their performance did not even match the indexes that they are benchmarking.

Review: I have a contract with the Street.com that I pay monthly dues for a product that I can not fully use. The problem I have been having has been going on for over a year. I have gone through the normal street.com customer service multiple times without even getting a reply accept the email from the street that says the service request from me has been received. But I never get a call to acknowlede that the street is working on the problem. I called months ago the billing dept and requested a cancellation and of course I was asked why by your employee and I explained the multiple times I have requested service and have never gotten a reply. Your billing dept employee immediatly patched me to a live tech support employee who hopped remotly on my computer and easily duplicated the link error which always occurs via email file for only Rev Shark. He said the Street was aware of this error for a while and is workin on it.

in the meatime I keep getting emails to buy more of your product. How can you guys stay in business when you have a product that does not work via what I pay for and the street wants me to buy more products. Is businees really that great or is the Street running the ultimate bate and switch and taking money for services that do not meet the standards for whatDesired Settlement: I expect a total refund since this product has not worked as advertised for over a year. If the street had fixed this problem from day one then your company would have made even more money becasue I would have purchased more of your other subscriptions. instead I have purchase other subscriptions that have nothing to do with the street becasue of your lack of customer support to fix a product that is not working and again was duplicated multipe times to your tech support.

Imagine if you did not have [redacted] the Street would go out of business based on the products you sell that do not meet what I paid for

Review: The Street only allows cancellation of its automatically renewed newsletters by telephone during regular business hours, not by written notice. When you try to submit a written request regarding cancellation, you get kicked back to a message that you can only cancel by phone during regular business hours.

I have twice in 2014 waited lengthy periods to finally talk to a representative who has promised me they would cancel my subscription and refund the remaining amount. The second time (July 2014) the representative said, "Oh yes, I see your previous request, it just wasn't pushed through. We'll do it this time, and refund the remainder as of the date of the first request, June **.". They never refunded anything and I still get the newsletter which I don't read and am no longer interested in.

I am a single parent who runs a business. I don't have time to sit at the phone for hours during business hours, as I am either with clients, driving, or performing parenting chores during those hours. Twice should be enough.Desired Settlement: Cancel my subscription to Stocks Under $10. Refund the money you promised on JUNE ** 2014 which was for the remaining 11 months of subscription, or approximately $367.08.

Review: TheStreet.com processed an auto-renewal of a previous service. We anticipated that the charges were coming and wanted to cancel. We had tried to cancel a similar service in May without luck. Both my husband and I ] attempted to call the company on numerous occasions to cancel the service. Every time we called we were on hold and unable to get in contact with a representative to cancel the service and prevent a charge from going through. Since we were unable to talk with a representative my husband went onto his street account and changed the credit card number. OUr thoughts were that by changing the credit card they would not be able to charge us and they would discontinue the service. On 10/**I noted a charge for 249.95 for the Street Break out Stocks. Since we were not anticipating this charge to go through there was not sufficient funds in the account so our bank charged us with an over draft fee of 39.00. At this point my husband and I began to call the company to dispute the charge and request that the renewal be reversed and refunded. I finally was able to talk with someone and they said they do not honor cancellations once they have already charged the card. I explained the situation and asked to speak with a manager. I was told I was speaking with a manager and there was nothing that could be done. As a leader in the medical profession I deal with numerous customer service issues and I feel that this situation was handled poorly and unprofessionally.Desired Settlement: I would like a 249.95 credit to our credit card and the subscription cancelled.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for Thestreet on 6/*/2011. Unknowingly it was set automatically to be charged yearly subscription fee. On Oct 2013 I realized that I was being charged for it over last 2 years unknowingly. I called to cancel and talked with [redacted] who stated I would be receiving the refund of $250 on my [redacted]. Apparently I didn't see any refund on the statement therefore I called back and [redacted] told me that he cannot cancel and they can only turn off the auto renew.

First of all this service was not a useful service for me. unknowingly I was charged for it. if I want to cancel the subscription WHY IT CANNOT BE CANCELED. EVEN WHEN THEY EMAIL THERE IS A STATEMENT STATING CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR CANCELLATIONS. THIS MAY BE AN OFF SHORE COMPANY OTHERWISE IN USA IF YOU CANCEL A SERVICE YOU GET THE REFUND BACK FOR UNUSED SERVICES. THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF. IF THIS COMPANY IS PRACTICING IN APPROPIRATE THINGS IN US THEN THERE NEEDS TO BE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT ON THIS COMPANY FOR THIS KIND OF PRACTICE. AS I WORK IN PR FIELD. I WOULD MAKE SURE THE MEDIA, AND ALL THE SOCIAL OUTLETS GET THIS MESSAGE ABOUT INAPPROPRIATE PRACTICES.Desired Settlement: I NEED REFUND OF THE ENTIRE AMOUNT.

Response:

All subscriptions are set to renew automatically on their anniversary date. This information is provided to the customers in the confirmation email, and there is a reminder notification that is sent within 30 days of all renewal/anniversary dates to notify the customer. [redacted] states that he was told by Ben that he would get a refund of $250. That is not possible for he called 4 months after his subscription had already renewed.

Regards,

Review: The problem is not w/ this company but a group of people pretending to represent them. Their running a scam using this company's name and I wasn't sure how to report them so I'm using this outlet hoping it reaches some one. The person I interacted w/ supposed name is [redacted]. He claims to work for the company's HR department. His email is [redacted]. I don't know the particular nature of their scam but when I called the number he gave it was a fake one. I hope this reaches someone can deal w/ them.

Review: This company auto renewed the [redacted] service I intended to let expire. They charged my credit card 199.95 without my permission.Desired Settlement: Return the funds and remove my contact information from their database.

Review: Greetings,

I subscribed to Action Alerts Plus newsletter for one year in Feb 2014 and paid 199.99. I noticed a charge of 399.99 on Feb *, 2015 on my credit card and after repeated calls and 45-mins hold, I was able to speak to customer service agent [redacted] and mentioned that I had no intention to renew the service, and would like to cancel the service immediately. [redacted] responded that there is nothing he can do and it is the policy of THESTREET.COM to charge customers credit card that was used when they signed up. I asked to speak to a [redacted] and he told me that he is the [redacted] and there is no one else I can speak to within the organization.

As I called within 2 business days of the unauthorized charge, I am extremely disappointed and appalled by the unethical and immoral practices employed by THESTREET.COMDesired Settlement: Full refund of 399.99 to the credit card.
