I used a contactor to install my tile. I wrote a check (that I have ) for the full amount . My contractor left the job after I paid him and never came back to finish. I had to repay someone to fix and finish the job. I tried to return the unused product with the bill of sales. I was told by the store manager that they could not give me my money back , even thought my name is on the bill of sales because the contractors name is also on it. They did offer me a store credit. I have the bill of sales with my name as the house work being do on and the product.
I do not want a store credit I just want my money back for the product I returned.

The receipt presented by the customer was not under his own name. The contractor purchased the material from our store with cash. The customer's name was only denoted as job reference on the receipt which is customary practice in order to assist the contractor in recording receipts for their various projects. In order to return the material, we would have to refund via check to the contractor since it was purchased by him under his account. We cannot issue a check to customer as he is not who paid for the order with us. We also provided an alternative option to credit the material onto a gift card. Customer rejected both options.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As I explained to you the contractor left the job and never finished it after we paid him.
I issued a check in the contractor's name.
By given a refund to the contractor you will be getting him my money for a job that he never completed.
I have the product and the receipt with his name on it but it also has my address on the receipt.
What is the difference whether you get the money to the contractor or directly to me it's the same thing when you have product in the receipt.
I uploaded the copy of the canceled check to the contractor and in the notation it said tile shop supplies.( The check was for the amount of the invoice.
Whenever you return products to a store if you don't have the receipt then yes you get a store credit, but if you have the product and the receipt a full refund should be given to the person.
Possession is 9/10th of the law I have in possession the receipt, the check that was written for the product and the product itself.
I was offered a store credit but my kitchen, both bathrooms and the floor throughout my house has all been remodeled I will not be needing any tile anytime soon.
It's bad enough thatbthe contractor walk out on us after we paid him but now your company wants payto the contractor for the product that I purchased.
