The Trust Company of Virginia Reviews (27)

Mr [redacted] did come in to buy a car. We submitted all of his paperwork to the lender. The lender did call his employer to verify the pay stubs he provided and verify his employment. At that time it was discovered that Mr [redacted] had been terminated from and his job and had given us false information. In...

these situations down payments are not refunded.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
First either way I was told that the vehicle was in good condition , either way their business practices at the #2 location aren't professional and they have different people in and out , so even when I went back there on May 27th to get the correct warranty paperwork none of the original people where there except for the older African American gentleman. I had not had the proper warranty paperwork to began with ! The particular people that were in there told me to that the issue that I was having would be taken care of with the drive-shaft and it wasn't warranty or no warranty that was something the business had replaced when they purchased the vehicle this is what I was told ! This car drives awkward and anyone being honest can say that , I made a horrible mistake here these people could care less, how long have they been with GWC ? This vehicle is breaking down slowly and I wish someone other than the warranty company that they have can check this out! I do not trust this company how do you sell things as if they are in perfect condition , do they do Carfax on used vehicles ? I sure should have just never had anything like this happen to me this vehicle has shifting problem that are apparent and damage wear and tear underneath vehicle, they use in-house mechanics  who would not even properly help me . I feel at a loss for all of this the car is no better than the 11 year old car I had and traded in it's given me headaches and I haven't even had it like that ! It's not worth it and as far as the financing company they don't care either they aren't any better lesson learned first and last time !
Regards,
M[redacted] L[redacted]

I apologize about the confusion on the DVD. I only answer the complaints after speaking with the parties involved. I didn't know about the side note on the WE OWE form. But we are at the mercy of the man who installs them and the dealership to program. We can't control those. First of all we NEVER did anything to alter the performance/sounds of the brakes and such claims are seriously misguided!! We did not sell a vehicle with any known mechanical issues. This car was purchased at an auction under Green light conditions. That mean that it is mechanically sound. A simple call to America's Auto Auction and they can explain the policy. GREEN" Light – the seller represents that the vehicle is sound and subject to all arbitration policies. We fully believed the vehicle was in sound working order. Yet again, we have no control over the warranty company. Those issues need to be addressed to GWC Warranty.

Ms M[redacted] purchased a vehicle from us. We did tell her we would take care of her stereo issue. In the time she purchased the car we have installed 2 different DVD/CD systems into her car. We also had to take both of these to be programmed by the GMC Dealership. Unfortunately, neither of these...

replacements continued to work long term. We are still in the search for yet another stereo. We did not promise to have this done within a specific time period. It is a work in progress. As for the issue with the brakes, she test drove the car and had every opportunity to address the problem. If the brakes were in such a bad condition they would have been making a scrubbing sound or the metal tab would have squealed when they were applied. She may have called and talked to our receptionist about the check engine light but she never actually brought the car into us. We sold her an extended warranty to protect her from any unknown issues. We didn't know there were any serious mechanical issues. Also, all used cars are sold AS-IS. We can not speak to the policies of GWC warranty company. However, it is generally any warranty companies policy to require a tear down of an engine if a claim is being filed. They do this to verify the problem is what the mechanic is claiming it to be. That is an issue she will need to speak with GWC warranty company about. Google reviews can be posted by anyone. Therefore, not 100% reliable. We try to take care of situations when they happen but sometimes things are beyond our control. We are working on the issue that we promised to fix.

Mr [redacted] did come in and select a car. The process was started for loan approval through various lenders. As posted throughout the dealership, if financing is obtained then any down payments will not be refunded. Mr [redacted] came in and was taken to the bank by one of our salesmen. It was at this...

time he changed his mind and decided that he no longer wanted the vehicle. This takes time away from the salesman and our F & I department. These notices are posted to verify that the customer is serious in purchasing a vehicle before time is spent. Mr [redacted] should have been fully aware of this. If he would like to purchase a car we would be more than happy to apply his money onto that vehicle. hank you.

The GWC Contract was given 5/27/17 after I complained about the problems I was having with the car / Drive shaft in which they stated that it had been replaced and had a warranty . The original warranty didn't state much "Buyers Guide" , I was told that the clerk had since been fired and that it...

wasn't an actual warranty with that piece of paper. I was asked to pay $70.00 and that they would cover the rest , in which I did not because it wasn't my error. On the purchase agreement  it shows the odometer 187425??  So much doesn't feel right about this vehicle please know that i'm not trying to get out of so much of the payment but the vehicle , this vehicle has a history. They owe me a emergency break pedal cover that was never delivered to me , shady unprofessional business I do not feel comfortable dealing with them alone.

[redacted],  I spoke with the owner of the dealership and apparently this car was finally picked up by ** from [redacted] Auto and was repaired within the first few days of June. I was also told that the customer has also made his 1st payment since then and has been in possession of the repaired car...

for several weeks. Please verify this info with the customer and let me know if there is anything else that needs to be done. I'll complete the new business profile and send to you Monday morning. Thank you again for your help. [redacted] Accounting/ Customer ServicePenland Automotive[redacted], SC 29687
