Review: In February I ordered a magazine subscription and never received my magazine. I called and they informed me that my subscription would not start until ** May. After numerous attempts to call them with no phone number listed I e-mailed them and still no reply.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the subscription that I ordered immediately or a complete refund of $49.99

Review: I received the following email from the week magazine: [ Subscriber:[redacted] Status:On hold pending paymentDear [redacted],As you requested, we sent you numerous issues of THE WEEK. However, our records show that no payment has been received. To stay current on all the best national and international opinion, art and ideas, please click here to pay for your subscription today. You'll receive 51 issues for only $31.20.Please click the "Make Payment Now" button below to continue to receive THE WEEK.We appreciate your prompt attention. At the time this email is received, your expiration date is JAN ** 2016The Week publishes 51 issues per year.As a subscriber, your 100% satisfaction is guaranteed. Cancel at any time and we'll refund you for all unsent issues.]Customer Service at the week had stated that no payment had been made, which is false, I had sent in a payment of $30.00. I called their customer service department, and explained that per the email the sent, I owe them only $1.20. I was informed that the message was not written correctly, and I owe them 31.20 more. I explained that it is not my fault that it was not phrased correctly, and they should honor the rate they quoted me. The customer service rep became rude with me, and I told him to just cancel my renewal and return my $30.00 payment I had sent them. I have Been a loyal reader of the week magazine and thoroughly enjoy reading each issue. I feel they should honor the amount the stated in the email letter the sent me, especially since they have already received a $30.00 payment from me, with no refund returned to me yet. Thank you for your time. Respectfully, [redacted]Desired Settlement: a yearly renewal for the amount stated in the email sent to me.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Hi.I have contacted The Week Magazine at least 30 times over the last couple of years to please stop sending me promotional mail. They refuse to honor my wishes. It is by law The Week Magazine is required to stop sending me promotional mail upon my request. The Week Magazine is violating this law.I have begged, plead, and been extremely gracious with my numerous requests without success.Just last month I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. Revdex.com File Complaint #: [redacted]Complaint File Date: 10/**/2014 The Week Magazine responded:"Please inform [redacted] that we have marked her account so she receives one renewal notice closer to the expiration date of her subscription. In addition, we have asked our home office to remove her name from any promotional lists she may be on."I agreed to close the complaint when I received their response, in trusting in good faith that they would honor their agreement and adhere to the law. I just received another piece of mail today. When will this end? I will contact the Federal Trade Commission to inquire if they can help me with this issue, and if the FTC is not the correct resource I will inquire of them what is the correct resource to pursue legal action against The WEEK Magazine for violating the law. I need a manager representative from The Week Magazine to personally contact me this time. I will not accept the standard reply that The Week Magazine will stop breaking the law and stop sending me the promotion mail. I want this to be resolved with this complaint filing. This is harassment and if it does not stop immediately I will exercise every legal option available to me by the law and I will no longer be gracious!

Sincerely,

Consumer
