Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/07/06) */
This has been resolved directly with our customerWe are moving forward with the contract and installing new windows for Mr***

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/12/22) */
Upon sale, each customer is given an approximate completion date of 4-weeksUnfortunately, due to manufacturing issues outside of the control of The Window Store, we could not keep that approximate completion dateThere was also an initial
delay due to Mr*** not having financing in place at the time of saleWhen the patio doors did get delivered we promptly contacted Mr*** to set up an installation date
At that point, Mr*** was not cooperative and demanded a 50% discount and hung up the phoneWe are ready to install Mr***'s doors at any time
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/12/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/01/07) */
The contract date was 8/20/with an approximate completion of product date of 4-weeksPatio doors are 6-weeks, which is what Mr*** orderedAs stated before, due to multiple manufacturing issues, out of our control, we realized there would be a delayWe did communicate that to Mr***Considering the multiple set backs we faced with the manufacturer, and the delay due to financing, the time frame in which we called to set up an installation was reasonableAgain, we are eager to resolve this issue by installing Mr***'s custom patio doors

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/01/15) */
This complaint was resolved on January 5, when our manufacturing representative made a visit to the ***'s home to address their concerns of moisture in the windowsHe checked all of the windows in the house as well as the humidityHe
found a level of humidity that will allow for condensation on very cold days and informed the homeowner'sHe also found a lack of airflow due to window coveringsHe made suggestions about the use of fans to reduce humidity and provided the homeowner's with a condensation brochure with more detailed information

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/21) */
The Window Store Home Improvements made a preset appointment with Mr& Mrs*** and when we arrived for the appointment we realized the customer did not meet The Window Store Home Improvements' guidelines in order to create an effective
estimateUnfortunately, the homeowner did not meet the policies of The Window Store that were previously discussed over the phone with the homeowner
The Window Store Home Improvements takes pride in our courteous and professional staff and apologize for any misunderstandings with Mr***

The salesman was non pushy, compared especially with the salesman from mad city windows. The price for all 14 windows was reasonably priced compared to other places. The one thing that I thought that the window store did much better others, was their installers. They made sure everything worked with great ease, insulated everything fantastic and all rapped up in aluminum trim. If you would happen to find windows in as good of quality as ours but cheaper,I would still recommend the window store for the installers were just great, and you get what you pay for.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2014/10/20) */
We have resolved Ms. [redacted]'s concerns and addressed and fixed issues with her windows.

We are sorry to hear you'd like to remove the beautiful counter top due to the small defect. We have offered a discount for the defective portion for $350; If you wish we will remove and dispose of your counter top given a (5) business day notice of the date you'd like it removed for free, at which point we would be happy to refer you to a solid surface counter top company.

The Window Store strives to keep its customers happy by tending to all customer concerns. We did our best to call and accommodate with your schedule to set appointments to look at the countertop but many attempts did not work within your schedule which caused further delay. You are correct that we...

came back in December 2015 to address your concerns. We were confident we fixed the countertop at that time and didn’t hear from you for 6 months, until June of this year. At that time, The Window Store was working as a team to decide the best course of action. We reviewed before and after photos that showed a beautifully re-done kitchen and one photo that showed a small spec only noticeable in the direct light and in person. It was our opinion, as experienced contractors, that trying to fix it again would make the most sense and that the cost to re-do the entire countertop was nowhere near the $2,000 requested. We always go above and beyond to be sure our customers are satisfied and The Window Store is happy to try and fix the area of the countertop once again. We pride ourselves on our countless positive reviews and happy customers.

The final invoice for work completed has been triple checked and revised per insurance claim. The contract signed was an insurance related claim so therefore negotiations with the insurance company had to take place. Once those negotiations were completed, the insurance company agreed to pay more...

for a higher grade product and increased the amount of the insurance claim. At that time, a representative from The Window Store came out to the home and went over the new pricing amount per insurance company, and had the homeowner's sign an addendum to the original contract. The purpose of the addendum is to acknowledge that when the homeowner receives the funds from their insurance company that they will then send the funds to us, as we were contracted to complete the work and did. There is no issue with the workmanship and all work has been completed so The Window Store would like to be paid.

I am rejecting this response because:
Their invoicing is not correct we have I signed contact and have reviewed the work change with our attorney that the insurance sent us and the money we received was mainly for our roof ,fence awnings, window covers  ac repair, deck painting , not just Windows ,siding ,gutters, facia. Regardless of our insurance payout they are only entitled to their signed contract agreement ,not thousands over that amount. Unfortunately we have had to hire a attorney due to their harassment and threats of liens and foreclosures.

The signed contract is for the insurance Replacement Cost Value plus any additional negotiated amounts with the insurance company.  We negotiated additional dollar amounts with the insurance company to repair the home with like kind and quality materials the customer had before.  The customer was fully aware that we would be negotiating additional dollar amounts beyond the original written contract amount with the insurance company.  That is why the original contract clearly states the dollar figure PLUS any insurance approved supplements.  We negotiated an amount with the insurance company that allowed us to restore the home to its condition before the storm damage.  At this point, the customer has decided that they should be able to keep the approved supplemental amounts that the insurance company paid out.  That is illegal, as it is not legal for a homeowner to profit from an insurance claim.

Mr. [redacted],
We did immediately follow through with your request to remove you from our database. You will not receive any further calls.

response from the business.)
It would have been nice to say they were sorry for calling.

Thankfully, [redacted] and I were able to connect today and get on the same page. There was a misunderstanding and The Window Store took ownership of where we failed to properly communicate our standard process of returning a down payment check. [redacted] asked that we take this review down, as his check...

was returned to him.

We ordered 2 new warranty casement sashes that took an inordinate time from the manufacturer to come in to our warehouse and they were installed on September 11th.

Thank you [redacted] and [redacted] for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We understand it is not always easy to share this sort of thing and we would like you to know that we value your feedback and take it very seriously. The Window Store strives to pay close attention to the treatment of our...

customers. Our customers should never feel pressured; in fact, we always preach that our sales staff should the home leave as friends. That is our credo! The salesperson was told many times to, “Make a friend,” and to do whatever was needed to make potential customers comfortable as we go through the sales and installation process. The manner in which our salesperson carried out her job and the way she reacted to our potential customers is completely unacceptable. Because of this kind of behavior, the salesperson has been dismissed. Our production department, our marketing department and the owners are all extremely disappointed that this potential customer had such a terrible experience with us. It affects us all deeply and we take it personally. This kind of complaint reverberates throughout the entire company. We have attempted to contact [redacted] and [redacted] but we have not connected. If they wish to discuss the situation with management, we would encourage a call into our office. Please accept our deepest apologies and we wish you all the best in the future.

I am rejecting this response because:
So you are trying to tell me that the value of the product and labor for the countertop was $350.00 of the $7,200.00 we paid you? Unbelievable. We are sick of playing these silly games with you so we will allow you to fix your defective product for a third time. But we would appreciate getting it done in less than a couple of months, and would like some notice of when your installer is available. I cannot fully accept your response until the product is installed correctly, as it has been done wrong twice already and three separate people with your company have said you don't believe you can do it properly.

Review: I ordered window and was promised an install date in August. Apparently, my order fell through the cracks and I called company on August 7th since the installers had not been out to do final measure. Install was to happen in August or on Saturday. I was told when I called about installers that there is no Saturday schedule for install. I did not want to lose time from work, so that is why I insisted before placing order that it was to be completed by August. After saying that I would cancel order without a Saturday install, they proceeded to tell me that it could happen; however, installer complained when he came to measure.

Called on September 17 to check on order and was once again told that there could be no Saturday install. New office manager issues, etc. were reason for delay and issues with order. This customer is uncomfortable with order. I have not received an acceptable date for install. I am concerned that I will get substandard work since my request for a Saturday install is causing complications.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my down-payment money. I was to finance purchase and would like all original documents returned to me as well.

Response:

We try to be very flexible, but, typically do our installations during the work week. One of our sales people promised a weekend installation without properly notating it on the paperwork so I can totally understand the customers frustration upon hearing from our job foreman that we don't typically do weekend installations. As soon as we understood this fact we came up with options of either Saturday, Sept 27th (which didn't work for the customer) or if it was more convenient let her know we could potentially install the Bay window in the evening after work and finish the exterior work the following morning (the customer explained they would prefer a Saturday installation.) We ended up installing the window the following Saturday October 4th and gave the customer an appropriate discount for her inconvenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: We had 5 windows replaced, one in which it took 3 windows to be fixed properly. We now have made several phones calls and I keep getting the they will replace under the warranty which now has probably expired. I called in Feb 2014 and have had a few phone calls with the office, in which they say the windows are ordered and she will contact me with repair date. .Have not heard anything 7 months

later...no windows no return phone calls. VERY DISAPPOINTED.. Will not recommend the Window StoreDesired Settlement: at no cost

With the delay in the delivery of the windows, [redacted] and his team of installers left their families on a Saturday to complete the project. They went above and beyond to make sure the job was done quickly and efficiently. They even cleaned up after themselves and left no evidence that they were here except for beautiful new windows. Thanks [redacted]
