TLC Laser & Skincare Reviews (%countItem)

at TLC Laser & Skincare caused second degree burns on my hands during a BBL (broad band light) treatment.
There is nothing in her waiver that states that this treatment could result in second degree burns. She evidently had the laser turned up too high.
After numerous Drs. visits which included a visit to urgent care, prescriptions, hours soaking and changing dressings, severe pain and a staph infection, I feel she is negligent and should not be allowed to own a business.
Her attitude towards me and then subsequently my daughter was both insulting and discriminatory.
When I asked who she had her insurance with she told me she has been advised by her insurance company to not have any communications with me.
No one should go to this establishment.

TLC Laser & Skincare Response • Mar 13, 2020

TLC Laser & Skincare is focused
on patient care. We take pride in educating our patients so they can make an
informed decision on the appropriate treatment for their needs. Patients are
given a packet of information including, pre/ post care instructions and
consent forms. Prior to treatment our technicians review the treatment and encourage patients to ask questions prior to consenting to treatment with a signature. The
consent form reviews possible risks including blistering, swelling, infection, and
bruising. Our post-care instructions state in bold print “if you have any concerns
or questions, please call us”.In this mentioned incident the
patient prepaid for several nonrefundable services. The patient received two of
the services she purchased, and the patient left the facility satisfied. The
patient called several hours later with questions of post care. We reviewed the necessary steps to be taken
and an after hours phone number was provided in case of any continued question
as we were on brink of a holiday weekend. Five days post procedure the
patient entered our facility in a threatening manner bringing several other
individuals with her, and demanded a full refund. To our surprise, patient informed us that she
had sought out medical attention for her concerns post treatment instead of
calling us with her concerns. As for the patient being concerned with accumulating
medical bills, she would not have assumed medical bills if she would have
contacted us with her concerns prior to seeking medical attention. We have visible
signage in our office of who our facility physicians are as well as posted on
our website. TLC Laser & Skincare has
a no refund policy. It is stated on the receipt, her signed contract and posted
in the office. We made an exception to her request for refund because patient satisfaction
is our top priority. A full refund was issued for the services performed and
the services that had yet to be performed. To ensure all of the patient’s
concerns were addressed we also notify patient that one of our physicians would
want to follow up with her. We contacted our Medical Director
immediately and they contacted the patient and requested her to follow up with
them in office as soon as possible. Patient advised the nurse that she left for
vacation and would not be able to follow up in office for 10 days. The patient emailed a request
for our private insurance information. TLC Laser & Skincare was advised to cut
off all communication to the patient. The patient was emailed as to what we
were advised and gave her instructions to contact the Medical Director with any
questions and continue her post-care follow up with him at no charge.

Please let me know if you have any follow up questions in regards to this incident.

I attended an advertised event and purchased product at event held by TLC at their store. I the time I was given a gift certificate for $25.00 This was a holiday promotion in which this gift card was given if you had purchased product. I was given a separate $15.00 gift card for a promotion in which people were given these cards if they made a food pantry donation at this event. When I made an appointment for services to use these gift cards, I was denied service and the business refused to honor these gift cards.

We appreciate feedback from customers and are committed to customer satisfaction. To clarify what occurred in this instance, at the event attended, she purchased non-refundable services and/or products. The non-refundable nature of these items was stated on her receipt, the signed contract, and was posted in our waiting room. A few weeks after the purchase, she entered our facility apparently angry accompanied by 2 other individuals. Prior to her arrival our facility was not made aware of any dissatisfaction or problem. She demanded a refund for her nonrefundable purchases. In order to satisfy the customer, we did provide her with the refund requested, although against our standard policy. She returned a few days later to return more items. We again gave her a full refund for her purchases. At that point we felt we had addressed her concerns. Sometime after this, she called our facility to request services. As a result of the previous contact, it was determined that she would be better served at a different facility. Our decision not to provide services had nothing to do with her income level about which we have no information. She did not mention having a coupon until after service was refused for violation of our policies. Also, I feel the need to clarify that the “gift cards” referred to in the complaint were coupons not a cash valued gift certificate. We were more than happy to recommend another place that may be able to accommodate your needs better.
