I am rejecting this response because:
This is very troubling ...first they didn't reply to Revdex.com requests and now they claim they have been trying to install the windows for the last months ??? Are they serious ? I have a copy of registered mail being received within a week of the cancellation I have records of calling them, talking to their account rep once and attempting several other time to contact them via phone.I would like to see at least one attempt on their part to call me in the last months.I have also called the Bank that issued the credit - they had the same problem; called them several time and had no response. They have issued conditional refund no thanks to the MerchantI can get their input as well.At this point I recommend for the Merchant to apologize, cancel the order and refund the deposit which was never linked to any actual work, rather than wasting my time....however, if they insist I would be happy to supply all records, including registered mail receipt, and my cell phone records and the emails from the *** *** Bank.I will be following up with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs as this is really getting too old

I am rejecting this response because:I have called Total Remodeling on several occasions and Total has neglected to return any of my phone calls. As you know, I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com, Complaint #*** and a resolution was agreed upon. That resolution was to start repayment to me starting 1/25/2015. To date, I have not seen a payment from Total. Please advise status.

The rebate program for Solar ended some months ago. I do not know who this customer was communicating with; since the original administrator and Sales Manager have not worked with the company for some months. I will obtain the file and contract from the archive and review if there was a rebate...

provision at that time.  In which case it will be forwarded to the customer.

I have reviewed the content of the above complaint which does not accurately depict the entire experience. A great deal of work was done on the original contract and our amicable resolution was to reduce the scope of work and give value for the work that was done. What is also true is that we did...

agree to refund in equal payments a portion of the monies received on the original contract. Obviously having a customer reduce their order from $100,000 to much less with our compliance impacts cash flow in that area; if no other. We plan to send payments monthly starting Jan 27th 2015.

Total Exteriors Corp refunded customer [redacted] her full refund. The customer was advise that in 2 prior occassions we had mailed out her refund check. Because we understood her frustation Total Exteriors advised her that since the prior 2 checks had not arrived it was best for the customer to pick...

it up in person. Customer [redacted] refused to pick up the check and stated it that she wanted an ach payment so it could post her account faster. Total Exteriors made the ach payment ( OUR COMPANY PAID A FEE OF $25 I CAN FAX OVER THE RECEIPT). If customer [redacted] bank chooses to charge an addtl fee to their account holder, our company is not responsible for it. Total Exteriors contracts are clearly written, it states that you have the write to cancel within 3 business days. It does not state that we will hold off your deposit until after 3 days. Our company always signs contracts with serious buyers.

Review: I signed a contract with Energy Solutions by Total in April of 2013 for a solar panel installation. Part of this contract included a clause for referral fee for the completion of any referred solar installation projects. I referred one client who completed a solar install later in 2013.I sent my initial inquiry regarding the referral fee to be paid to me in January 2014. I had a follow-up phone call in April 2014 and e-mail confirmation stating that they were awaiting the check from their accounting team. In August I again sent a follow-up on the referral fee and was informed that the accounting team was aware of the check for $562.80 and a duplicate request would be made for the check. It is now January 2015 and I have still not received my referral fee. I have tried to reach out for a follow-up with no response but given the track record, do not feel this constant chasing has resulted in any benefit. Thus I am filing a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my referral fee as per contract terms.

Review: We were looking for a Solar installer, and Total Exteriors Corp came out to our place for a no-obligation quote in August 2014. At the end of the sales pitch - the salesperson said that we could sign up for the solar installation, and we would have 3 working days to back out from the contract if we needed to. The salesperson also got us to sign up for a consumer finance plan with [redacted] and said that they would withdraw money only if we proceeded with the installation.

We sent in our cancellation form within the mandated 3 day period, by certified mail with return receipt. But to our surprise, we started getting statements from [redacted] within a month - saying that $ 7000 + has been withdrawn from the account. When we contacted Total Exteriors, they first said they hadn't received any cancellation from us and so charged our account. And this was without any work having started on the project.

I then sent the scanned copies of our certified mail receipt, as well as the signed return receipt - on September 26, 2014. Total Exteriors then agreed to refund the money to [redacted] and cancel the contract. But as on date (February 2015), they still haven't refunded the money. And they have stopped responding to my emails.

Be very cautious when dealing with this company, especially their solar division.Desired Settlement: Refund the money withdrawn on my consumer finance account with [redacted]

Review: Despite many attempts at contacting aforementioned business entity, I have had only one weak response about 4 weeks ago. They indicated I would be contacted by someone to determine what needs to be done. It hasn't happened.

The matter concerns the deterioration of [redacted] gas filled window panels within a large window comprised of 5 panels. Three panels have leaked gas causing large silver spotting inside the glass. Each panel approx. 20"x 60". Concerned that remaining panels will fail as well.

Also the window sill has cracked open and needs to be repaired.

This work was initially done in Sept. 2008. I chose to have [redacted] gas within the panels because Total Exteriors said no problem, the window would be guaranteed as long as we own the home.

Current concerns are that all my calls go to voicemail. Been trying to contact since spring & would like window repaired by winter.Desired Settlement: I need to be contacted about moving forward to replace said window & replace the sill, as it is beyond repair.

Review: We trusted this company to do a bathroom renovation and they have stolen from us $9,000!!! First, we signed the contract on a Saturday afternoon, Aug 9, 2014, after being promised a professional, custom job to our preferences by their salesman, [redacted] We financed the job through their company called [redacted]. By the next Monday, unbeknownst to us, Total Renovations had already withdrawn a $4,500 first payment from [redacted] Then on Aug 13, 2014, Total Reno gave themselves another $4,500 payment!

The job was scheduled for Sept 15, 2014 and we accepted their 2 workers into our home. The worker in charge was named [redacted] and within 15 minutes of their working to remove the existing sink, he called me in to inform me that he was unable to turn the hot/cold valves. Therefore, he said that I needed to pay him an additional $250 to replace the valves, but that we should not tell his office or it will cost us more than that. Then he gave me the additional information that if his company found out, he could lose his job. [redacted] also told me that if I did not pay him directly to replace the valves, we would not have any running water in our house for the duration of the project.

This was a major red flag for us of EXTORTION and we did not want them to continue working in our home. We called the company and spoke to the owner, [redacted] who was not shocked by the behavior of his employees. [redacted] did not believe that [redacted] had solicited us the $250. We told the owner that we did not want them to return to our home and continue the job. We said that we would pay only for the work that they did on Day 1 of the project, which amounted to 4 hours of demolition.

As of March 2015, we have not been able to recoup the $9,000 that Total Renovations has stolen from us through their financing company, [redacted]Desired Settlement: We told the owner, [redacted] that we would pay $1,000 for the 4 hours of demolition by their 2 workers on Sept 15, 2014 (from approx. 10:00 am to 2:00 pm), and for the returned supplies that they had brought to our house. All their supplies were collected and removed by the 2 workers on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014. This was not acceptable to [redacted] He wants to keep the $9,000 that he has removed from our [redacted] account. He insists that we are not able to refuse continuation of the project, even though his employees betrayed our trust by attempting to extort cash from us on Day 1 of the project.

I am rejecting this response because: The response issued by the company is inaccurate and offensive to us, the trusting law-abiding customers. This company was given a chance to perform the renovation of our bathroom in an honest, professional manner and their employees displayed sleazy, bullying, illegal practices. We are not willing to give this company a second chance. From the ownership, office manager, to the day workers who we accepted into our home, the behavior is unacceptable. Review: In 2011, Total put new siding and gutters on my home. In 2013, my front gutter detached from my home. The torn gutter revealed that the gutter was attached to the home with 1 1/2" screws. These screws could not possible hold up a gutter for any length of time with any accumulation of water, leaves, snow. ice, etc. I believe the incorrect screws were used to attached the gutter to my home, resulting in the gutter detaching from the home.Desired Settlement: Replace my front gutter with the proper gutter mounting screws. Replace the back gutter using the proper screws, so it does not detach from the house as well.

The front light was ripped off the home as a result of impact with the gutter. That should be replaced as well.

Business

Response:

The consumer complaint is not accurate and technically impossible. All gutters are secured by strap hangers and the screws have to extend through the hanger into the adjacent fascia and often through the fascia completely. A l V; inch screw would not even extend through the hanger. The screw has to he at least 2 1/2 inches long. The fascia is approx. 7/8” ink k and that is the only way we anchor gutters.

The gutter fell as a result of the recent winter; unusually heavy snow and subsequent ice buildup weighs approximately 10lbs per lineal foot . The gutter failed because of this . They have been limited similar failures over the years which are Acts of God and outside of The customer could open a homeowners insurance claim. Just to reassure the custom er we will inspect again in the next few days. We will nonetheless offer a favorable fee to re-install for our past customer in this unusual circumstance.

Review: I had a Bay Window installed in February of 1996. The window came with a lifetime Guarantee . One of the pains of glass now has condensation build up and I called Total Remodeling at ###-###-####, in Union, NJ, to see what the procedure was to have a new pain installed (per the lifetime guarantee). I was told to call Production & Service at ###-###-####. When I called, and spoke to [redacted], she told me Total Remodeling was sold and now the company is Total Exteriors and they do not honor Total Remodeling's guarantees. I explained to her I called Total Remodeling, (where I purchased and had the window installed (still in the same location, same name, address and phone number) and that it seemed they were still in business. [redacted] explained the company was sold and had a different owner, however, when I went on the Revdex.com website, it said Total Remodeling, Inc. aka Total Exteriors (same location in Union, NJ where I purchased and had the window installed in 1996) started business in 2/1/92 and the President was Mr. [redacted] It seems to me, the company only changed name, not owner, location or phone number and therefore should honor the guarantee and seems to be still doing business.Desired Settlement: Replace the pain of glass that had condensation build up.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am a Total Remodeling customer. Total Exteriors Corp is just another name for "Total Remodeling". The address, phone number and ownership are the same. See below e-mail for more detail.

I had a Bay Window installed (see attached invoice) in February of 1996. The window came with a lifetime Guarantee (see attached). One of the pains of glass now has condensation build up (see attached photos) and I called Total Remodeling at ###-###-####, in Union, NJ, to see what the procedure was to have a new pain installed (per the lifetime guarantee). It seems to me, the company only changed name, not owner, location or phone number and therefore should honor the guarantee and seems to be still doing business.

Please let me know if I need to provide you with any more information.

Thank you for your help.

Please note that she is not a customer of TOTAL EXTERIORS CORP. Our company has a different license number and tax id. number. We are not responsible for this service.

Review: Company replaced my roof. I now have a leak covered under their warrantee. I have left many messages at their [redacted] but no response. Their other number is [redacted]. Apparently it has been disconnected. I suspect that the company is no longer in business under this name. Can you help me find this company?Desired Settlement: I cannot contact the company. If they are out of business, maybe there is nothing that I can do, but how do I determine their status.
