Review: So i'll be right to the point- this dealership is a true BAIT AND SWITCH CON ARTIST ** dealership. Was looking for a 2015 White Dodge Charger SXT AWD. Searched the local dealers inventory, and found the car I wanted ([redacted]) on sale for 26.995. Great deal I thought. I call the 877 number and press 1 for sales- speak with laurie or laura- tells me the car is ON THE DEALER LOT. Sale price is correct, and I can come and look at it. I go with my wife and father to the dealership, 2hrs after speaking with laurie/laura- the sales manager tells me the car is not there, and it is not even in his roster of cars. "The internet sales team may have made a mistake", but he does have a similar car at the warehouse that he can "give" to me for 38,000. Really?? I said that it was ** and bait and switch- he says "[redacted]". That was 9/**/15. I said maybe you should remove the false ad from your website, he agrees. So im on their website again 9/**/15 and they have the chat box that offers conversation with a sales employee. This employee named melissa asks if she can help with anything- so I tried again- seeing as how the ad for the sale priced "missing" charger was still on the website- to my shock- melissa tells me that the sale priced charger with VIN ending [redacted] was indeed on the dealer lot and open to purchase. I call direct to the sales floor at the ###-###-#### and magically the car is in fact there for purchase. 4 minutes after receiving melissa's message that the car was there, and 2 minutes after speaking with Ronald or Rainold??- I go in to purchase the car and poof! not available, they dont have it!! And they have no record of said car being sold or even at the dealership. And that brings us to today- i've attached the link for the ad, and you can see that today [redacted], 6 days after being told the car was not available and would be removed from the website it still is listed, and their sales people still tell you it's on the lot for sale. They are all a bunch of LIARS, looking to play BAIT AND SWITCH. if you know whats good for you AVOID this place at all costs.Desired Settlement: remove the damn false ad and stop your BAIT AND SWITCH **.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#[redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved becauseWell Mr. Fred GM, 1st off you have no clue what you're speaking about- there were never any rebates involved- the car was on sale for a price, rebates had nothing to do with it- read your own [redacted] add-[redacted] the problem which you would understand if you actually read the complaint, was simply that you advertise a car for a price, then claim the car is on your lot ready for purchase, then upon arriving at your lot tell me the car is not there and you dont have any car for that price in your inventory-- which by the way- DODGE confirmed that you do in fact have the exact car in your inventory- so stop playing bait and switch [redacted]. 3rd- I did not give your salesman my name when I asked about said vehicle so you have no idea who I am, and cannot make statement otherwise. [redacted]- Stop being [redacted] and remove that car and the ad from your website, or provide the car on the dealer lot for purchase..[redacted]

Just bought the car 4/**/15 car had 32,996 when I bought it now has 36,000. Brakes should

should have been done when I bought the car. Advsd should go back to [redacted] where I bought the car. Spoke to Jason in service dept he said didnt need rotors he said they just want to get business. He finally consented to do brake pads. When I threatened to go to Revdex.com. Took the car to [redacted]r auto service in [redacted]. They advised I need front and rear rotors and front pads.Desired Settlement: What I really would like is a buy back on this car. Paid 40k which is way over what the c ar is worth. Richard D[redacted] mgr is a [redacted] and a [redacted].

Response:

The consumer stated in the complaint did bring her car here for service. She stated that another dealer told her she needed brakes on the front and the rear of her car. Her car was purchased from us and went through a certified Chrysler inspection when it had 32996 miles on it. The customer was concerned that she needed brakes which she did not, she had over half the pad material left on the front brakes and just under half the material left on the rear, which both passed Chrysler certification and NYS inspection requirements as well. As a good will gesture since she purchased the car from us and even though she put over 3000 miles on it we installed rear brake pads for her at no cost to her. This car was safe when brought to us and is still safe when we returned it to her, and in my professional opinion I feel somebody was just trying to sell her unnecessary work, making her claim to the Revdex.com false and unjust.Thomas H[redacted], Service Director

Review: We made arrangements to test drive and hopefully purchase a used vehicle after discussing the car and the price over the phone with sales person (Joe). We were was harassed endlessly by their business staff - Michele - by phone and email to make this appointment. The price of the vehicle was advertised on several websites including [redacted] - this is the ad we brought with us, so with that price agreed on, we drove 2 1/2 hrs each way to see this car. We test drove and decided to buy. Then they told us that price advertised was inaccurate and they added 4,900 to price because we wanted to pay cash not finance. THIS WAS AFTER WE HAGGLED WITH THE FIRST SALES PERSON (Phil) WHO WAS FIRM ON ADVERTISED PRICE. WE AGREED ON THE ADVERTISED PRICE AND WE WERE ADDING TAX AND FEES TO THE PRICE. That then a second sales person (Joe?) added the 4,900 to original price. There was no mention of the price being subject to anything - including paying cash or finance on their ads or over the phone. They refused to honor the advertised agreed on price. We left and drove 3 hours home in Long Island/New York Traffic back to NJ.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor the advertised price of 54,995 that is listed on the [redacted] ad and [redacted]. If they do not I want the Revdex.com to warn consumers that this dealership does not honor advertised prices, bait and switch, tell the customer anything (lies) to get them in the showroom business practice. I would also like the $100 in expenses of tolls gas and food I spent pursuing their false promises.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

They are blatantly lying, I have a witness and documents so let them sue me for liable. My defense is the truth. That must be their standard response to complaints. I urge buyers to stay away, especially if you are going out of your way. Typically "get them in the showroom at any cost", especially cost to you, "then bait and switch tactic" that is standard practice in the used car industry. Why would I drive all the way down to Long Island from new Jersey for the same price I could get in New Jersey, or for a new car for that matter --- I drove there for a promised sale price and was prepared to pay the price. I have the ad. Not worth my time to upload, but I have it. It doesn't matter because they are saying I rejected a lower price, when I was prepared to pay cash for the advertised price immediately and not drive back in 3 hr traffic I. why would I reject a price willing and ready to pay. I rejected their added price of 4,900 for cash instead of finance. BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP MAKES MONEY OFF THE LOAN [redacted] SO TAKING THEIR MONEY UPFRONT. THEY JUST WEREN'T PREPARED FOR US TO PAY CASH Yes we negotiated several points, cash on hand discount, or throw in the cost of tow to jersey, or a trade in, etc until they said the advertised price is firm. THEN THEY ADDED the 4,900. Their phone woman MICHELE hounding me with constant phone calls and emails should have been my first warning and it was, but they assured me on the price, we agreed on the price, I made an appointment a week in advance but when it came time to pay then they added 4,900 FOR CASH INSTEAD OF FINANCE SWITCH!!.

Review: My daughter is going off to college and needed a car . Town and Country Jeep Chrysler located at [redacted] were selling a 2007 DODGE CALIBER SXT for 7995.00 . My husband and daughter went to the dealership both liked the car but wanted a mechanic to look at the car .At first there was a delay could take the car at that time but they , the dealership would take it to the station later on that day . That never happened and we were told the following morning. My husband and daughter went to ONE STOP PETROLEUM INC located at [redacted] in North Bellmore to wait for the DODGE CALIBER SXT ,the car did arrive and the mechanic did look at it . The mechanic did say the back tires were shot and front rotors were very soft. The sales person from Town and Country , I believe his name was "[redacted]" drove the caliber back to the dealership with my husband and daughter following . My husband and daughter were told they would not come down on the price at all because it was a summer sale. My husband decided to make the purchase. NOW HE WAS BEING TOLD THE PRICE OF 7995.00 WAS ONLY IF A CAR LOAN WAS TAKEN . NOWHERE was it stated that 7995.00 was the selling price only if you financed they were CLEARLY BAITED IN WITH A FALSE SALE PRICE. My daughter liked the car so my husband took the loan but did not want to and even asked about paying it off right away ... he was told he couldn`t pay it off for six months ...WHAT A SCAM !!! They picked up the car today and my son (32 )wanted to make sure my daughter had a good feel for the car before she had to travel to college by herself. He went with her for a drive .. within ten minutes the car started shaking so badly my daughter had to pull over.My son whom has been driving for 14 years had to try to drive the car back home still shaking. Once home he called "[redacted]" and told him what happened .. must be a sensor bring it back in the morning . My daughter`s first day of college starts tomorrow and now she has no car just a scam dealershipDesired Settlement: This was my daughter`s first car and this dealership not only baited her in with a false price they put her life in danger . I do not believe this dealership using the town and country jeep chrysler name should be allowed to bait in customers with false prices and they should NOT BE ALLOWED TO PUT ANYONE`S LIFE IN DANGER . Being a first time drive it was only by the grace of God that this happened while my son was with her .My daughter still wants the car I want to make sure she is SAFE

Review: I recently had taken my car in for service oil change and inspection I waited a few hours and got a call saying my car wont pass the inspection with cords showing through the tire mind you I only have 16k miles on the car. So when I went there to pick the car up I asked them to show me what they were talking about they pointed out the problem I noticed the tear and brown stuff all around that tire and only that tire. I decided to invetigate this matter myself when I took a look at the car lift I found a sharp edge sticking out from the side where this brown stuff is also found. If the car isnt centered the right way when u pull the car into the lift you will rub the tire onto this sharp edge and punture the tire like they did with my car. I was outraged when they denied it was done in there shop even after measuring the height of the tear with the lift my blood pressure begain to boil so I took a step back and called the cops for a police report and by the way the cops even said the lift did this to my tire. When they check your car in they mark down any scratches, dents ect.I even said to them that this isnt on the paper and they said they cant go by this because it could have been over looked. My next step was to call corporate office they took down my information and filed a case number. Its been a few days and I havent heard back from them like they said I would so I called back for a follw up and they said they did everything on there part now if town and country wants to call me back on this matter they will and they havent so I guess they dont take damaging your car very seriouslyDesired Settlement: To pay for the tire they damaged

Review: I just bought a 2008 dodge charger RT on 5/**/2015. I came back to have them service the vehicle on 6/**/15. I called the shop on the same day to see what was wrong. one of the service agents told me they didn't look at the car yet and that they would call me Tuesday let me know what was wrong or find anything. Tuesday came and I didn't hear anything.I came in Wednesday morning my car was in same spot I left it Monday. the same service agent that took my car was not understanding he kept saying that we gave you a loaner but not giving me any answer on what wrong with car he then say that he only have two transmission techs and went back to we gave you a loaner bit. so I left before the end of the day he calls and say there was nothing wrong with the car. I find it strange that I had to come down there and then suddenly they find time to look when I made the appointment weeks in advance. I dont trust that they will look into the vehicle problem thoroughly and just tell me everything is fine when I know its not.Desired Settlement: Repair, just to check this vehicle out make sure it ok. don't sell people lemons.

Review: I purchased a 2008 Jeep Grande Cherokee on January [redacted] 2015. The car fails; engine turns off without the key being moved to the off position. This results in no gas no power steering and no breaks. This happened the evening after I purchased the vehicle and a week after. I called to have it checked on at the dealerships (Town and Country) service department. They were busy and couldn't take the car until January [redacted] 2015. The service department checked out the vehicle and couldn't reproduce the issue and gave the car back to me stating on the service paper that the vehicle was operating to factory standards. After that the engine failed again on February [redacted] 2015 and I decided to try and return the vehicle the next day. Saturday February [redacted] 2015 I drove the vehicle over to Town and Country and spoke to the receptionist who told me that if I was looking to return and vehicle it would be a long wait since they were backed up that day, in her effort to help me quicker she directed me to the [redacted] where I purchased the car to speak to the man in charge there, [redacted]. He was RUDE. He told me there is "no such thing as returning cars" and stressed in an indirect way that my driving had caused this issue to arise. He addressed me more like animal then as a customer. He was overly aggressive with me and made me very Infuriated. He then brushed me off and sent me back over to the Service department to schedule another visit to have the car looked at and as he said "we will fix it". I was most definitely under the impression that Town and Country would take the car that day since it is such a hazard to me and other people, however that was not the case. [redacted] in the service department told me he couldn't take the car that day (feb.**) and that I would have to wait again until February[redacted] 2015 to be checked out. That's 10days later. Unexceptable. This car just shuts off for no reason and I don't feel that Town and Country did any kind of real customer service for me. Even now after speaking with [redacted] and complaining with them the car is still not fixed and hasn't been in my possession since I had it towed over to another dealership (at [redacted]'s request) on February [redacted] 2015. [redacted] March[redacted] I called town and country to speak to [redacted], she had advised me to come in and assured me I could be traded out of the car, however she lied as she was not in the office and once again reception forwarded me to [redacted], I have no clue why since I asked to speak to the Person in charge of the Dealership. Again rude. he spoke to me harshly and again like the car shutting off was my fault. He is the absolute worst and should not be allowed to speak to any customers looking for assistance.Desired Settlement: If a refund or happy trade is not an option. I would like to have my money I put down back along with the January February and March payments I made on the vehicle. I'm paying for a car I do not even have. And dealing with people that do not want to help me. Truly I would love to just have the car fixed. But since that seems next to impossible I would just like to return the car and be done with this establishment.

Review: on December [redacted] I had an issue with a brand new 2014 Dodge Journey Transmission slipping and gears malfunctioning on the highway. It was a major concern because the car switched gears on the highway and the speed dropped down out of nowhere. The transmission light went on so I brought it over dec [redacted] 7am to Town and Country Service center in [redacted]. I couldn't get a loaner since they didn't have any on hand. A week went by and I spoke to [redacted] about my car. He said "well [redacted] we are looking at it and the tranmission internal error came up we don't know when it will be repaired. I asked for a loaner and yet they didnt have one. I have a special needs child that needs to go to services. As soon as I put a negative remark on the facebook page of town and country I got a loaner car. 2014 dodge dart. Another week goes by and on still no answer to when it will be fixed. On Jan [redacted] 2015 I was told the car would be ready Definitely by jan [redacted] and that I definitely can pick it up. They rebuilt the planatary gears. I asked why didn't they just put a brand new transmission in since it was a brand new car. They said Chrysler tol them to do that first. Now Jan [redacted] all ready to pick up car to only be told that the car will not be ready to at least Jan [redacted] which is over the 30 day mark for the car to be undrivable. they decided to put a new transmission in and now waiting for the part from michigan. I have been patient but spending almost 30 grand on this car I cannot let it go. I filed a form with attorney general and DMV for the new car lemon law. Transmission of car just failed with milage of 7000 miles. I feel the car should be replaced at this point of money returned. It will be 30 days friday with nothing completely done. I did not want to go to this but leaving messages with corporate and [redacted] And the [redacted] and not getting a response is a slap in the face to me. From what I understand Fred feels once I drive the car off the lot its my issue. Customer service is not grand at all.Desired Settlement: this is a brand new car, with a defective transmission which is pretty much the heart of the car, I feel a replacement is in order. I don't want to hear that its a machine. I paid 30 grand for this machine to work. I have purchased new cars in the past and never had this issue. Do the right thing. I do have a lawyer in place for the arbitration.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. The issue is with Chrysler cooperation and not the dealer itself. I contacted a lawyer and the dealership will cooperate with me to get this issue resolved. thank you

Review: I purchased a vehicle for 14,895 from this dealer. However my accountant noticed a discrepancy of over $2500 when I filed my taxes. I have tried many to call the dealership, and I was either transferred to someone whose voice mail was already full or I would leave a message, and the person would never call me back (I left seaveral messgaes for someone named [redacted]). I then went down to the dealership to speak to someone, and was told that someone named [redacted] was the only person that could help, but he was not there. I then tried to call [redacted], but again never received a call back. I went down to the dealership another day, but [redacted] was too busy to talk to me. I finally gave up.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $2500

Review: August **, 2014 my son purchased a 2009 Dodge Ram Truck. We both arrive at Town&Country at 7:00pm to sign the paper work. We meet sales person, car has checked by the mechanic and its ready to go. I said to the sales person can we go outside and check the truck before signing? Per sales person , no problem. My son and I went to the truck to find out nothing was done. Town & Country charge a flat fee in the amont of $650.00 to service the car before driving off the lot. The tire still had a large screw in it and the breaks were not checked. We finally signed and left Town & Country after so they say checked everything. On the way home the truck was shaking so bad my son new it needed breaks. My son called the next morning and spoke to the sales person whom transferred my son to the [redacted]. My son got a voice mail and left a message. My son kept on calling Town&Country finally he has an appoint this week. My son new the breaks were gone and had them replaced August [redacted] by another auto shop. My son did inform Town&Country of the suverity but no appointment provided until 2 weeks later.Desired Settlement: Refund the $650.00 flat fee Town & Country charged to service the car -Town and Country did not service my sons truck. SHE GOT HER REFUND ON THE AUG ** THANK U [redacted] PHONE ###-###-####--[redacted]

Do not deal with Jim S[redacted] of town & country . He is very personable UNTIL he gets your money in his hands. I have had three( perhaps minor )problems, he miss calculated my sales tax costing me another $500 on top of the $22,000 I paid for my car. There was no users guide which was promised(had to get a used one for $40 on line.)And there was only three car mats. All of which were to be taken care of but were not. Now, the two major problems are, He never gave us the temp insurance card I had to return to T&C and refuse to leave until I received one. (All the while his partner kept insisting I had gotten one)It is now 5 weeks later and I have not received my permenant registration ,calls to JIM & his company are fruitless.

Review: I would steer clear of the USED Sales Department. Everything people fear most about used car salespeople is what I experienced. We were left waiting for over 45 minutes with small children while the salesman processed the Deposit he so desperately had to have in order to discuss the car with us. We were told he was "Socializing". Very Unprofessional.

He NEVER broke down the price for us until after taking the deposit and when the car was well above Kelly Blue Book value he had no ability to justify the difference. When we decided not to proceed he assured us that, as promised, our refund would promptly be made. This was[redacted] I called and was told they didn't do the refund because they couldn't find the paperwork. [redacted] I was told told they needed the card number again, which was provided AGAIN for the third time. [redacted] I was told the salesman was off and had not done it. "Only he can issue the refund" I insisted on speaking to a manager who apologized and assured me it would be done that day. [redacted] we were told it was being done this day but we needed to understand how these complex refunds work. They take time. Well, its been 3 days! [redacted] No refund.[redacted]- I call and speak to the dealer business office and am told they NEVER even attempted to refund me that I "Should have been told to come in and swipe the card for my refund"

Never have I ever experienced this type of run around on any deal, big or small. I am happy I didn't actually buy a car here and would advise ANYONE reading this to run away.Desired Settlement: refund
