I was referred to go to Toyota Escondido from a friend to buy a brand new truck. The sales representative that I dealt with is Santiago, and he is very helpful and it seems like he really cares about his customers. Unfortunately, the only positive experience about this place was dealing with Santiago. I ended up buying a brand new Toyota Tacoma that has a lot of aftermarket upgrades. Since day one when I test drove the truck, I addressed to Santiago that the tires were rubbing when I turn the steering wheel. Santiago said that the issue will be reviewed by TE motor sports, but they were closed. After a few days Santiago scheduled me an appt with the service center, but they couldn't do anything, I still had to go to TE motor sports. I spoke with Damien Campos ( General sales manager) and he offered to filled up my gas tank for driving up all the way there , and he said that he wanted to fix all the issues with my truck so I wouldn't have to keep coming back. The following week Hector (Sales Manager) called me to set up an appointment with TE motor sports, and when I went there. They performed an alignment. While I was driving back home the tires were not rubbing anymore , but I realized that the truck was pulling to the right. For this reason, I took my truck for a second opinion. I was advised that TE motors sports in order to have the tires on my truck to be able to clear. They adjusted the camber to positive one and adjusted the toe. According to this second opinion shop, that alignment done at TE Motor sports would cause premature tire edge wear. I went back to the Toyota Escondido and I spoke with Jessica (Customer Relation Manager) and I explained the situation, and she gave me a $150.00 gift card for the trouble. I requested an exchange for smaller tires to address the problem. After a few days Hector called me and said that the tires that I requested were approved and I could go to TE motor sports to have them switched. When I went to TE motor sports, I asked Travis for the approved smaller tires since the alignment was done incorrectly. As soon as I started to explain why the alignment was not done correctly, Travis started getting very defensive and irritated, he said " I have a 100k hunter alignment machine, and you did not give me the chance, you should of brought it to me again". My response was the alignment should have been done right the first time, and I said that the smaller tires were approved and that would solve the problem. I could tell that Travis was very upset and he said that he needed to make a few phone calls to go through the correct channels. After I waited there for about 30 mins, he said that he could not do the tires. I left TE motor sports and I went to Toyota Escondido, and I asked the receptionist to page Hector. They paged Hector twice, and I was waiting for an hour and he never came out, it seemed like he was hiding and avoiding talking to me. Jessica ( Customer Relations Manager) came to talk to me and she explained that the tires were declined by TE motor sports, and she said that the tires were approved by the General sales manager Damien but he was out of the office and also Andrew the general manager was out on vacation. I was very angry and frustrated for the way Toyota Escondido handled the situation that I called corporate and opend up a claim. After a few days, Jessica called me again and said that the tires were approved, and I also requested a skid plate and other parts that were missing. I asked to be reimbursed for the exhaust repair and the license plate mounting bracket I bought on my own, and I thought It was fair that I could be compensated for the repairs that TE motor sport did not fix. I was very uncomfortable with TE motor sports and Travis and how I was treated. I went to TE Motorsports two times to try to get the issues resolved and tried to give them a chance to fix my truck , but they failed to do so. Travis and TE Motorsports are Dishonest and Toyota of Escondido , They will just give you the run around and are full of excuses. Jessica emailed me after I inquired about the parts, and she said that "I understand that you had out of pocket expenses, but we respectfully decline". After that email, I was more disgusted and fed up with this dealership and management. Although I had a few phone calls from the service center to schedule an appointment to change tires and other parts that were ordered for the truck , I felt that the issues were not completely resolved and I did not want to deal with anybody from this place. It turns out that there's other issues associated with the truck, and that is why I'm writing the review because I'm really angry. The truck had wheel spacer adapters installed on all four wheels, and the wheels had the wrong back spacing and offset. The wheel spacers are a safety concern and it can wear out the suspension components and they cause the vehicle to pull to the right. To fix this issue unfortunately the wheels that came with the truck have to be changed out and the spacers removed. I am really disappointed because in order to fix all of those issues, I had to spend all this money for something that the dealership should of fixed to begin with , before they put it on the lot to sell .

Additional information about my experience .
I went up here on four occasions . Two of the days I took off work to try and get these issues resolved and also wasted a Saturday Driving from Alpine to Toyota of Escondido to have the tire rubbing issue checked out at the Toyota service department and the technician looked at it and the service advisor said they could not do anything for the issue and said it would need to go to TE. TE Motorsports Failed to fix the issues . why try to preform a Wheel Alignment on this truck when what they did was not correct to make the tires clear . I think what they did was dishonest . On Trip One to TE I asked David at TE If they could fix the Exhaust tail pipe issue he said that they had no time to do it and that I would have to set up another appointment . My truck was there for the Alignment ? Trip two to TE for the Approved tire swap . Talked to Travis, There was other issues that I went to Travis for, like getting the front license plate installed on the aftermarket bumper. Travis wanted to drill holes into the bumper, and I refused because it is an expensive bumper and I felt that was not acceptable. Also, he said that it would take half of day to make brackets as I requested and to fix the Exhaust tail pipe rubbing issue. He told his Employee to make the brackets out of scrap metal. so basically he was just making up excuses and it was very clear that he was trying to avoid getting the work done. I mentioned that the truck is missing the skid plate, he said " what makes you think a two wheel drive truck comes with one? He said that the tires were not approved when he made a phone call. Hector told me they were approved. After this conversation with him I decided to leave . The way I was Treated at TE was Terrible and unprofessional .I thought it was fair to ask Jessica for Compensation for the Exhaust repair and license plate mounting bracket Only 50.00 . I didn't want to go there ever again. I think TE and Travis were aware of the tire rubbing issue before I bought the truck . The truck was at TE originally and Santiago told me that it was there because they were looking at the wheels and tires on the truck . The real solution to fixing the truck is the tires were to large that were on it and the wheels had the wrong backspacing and offset, therefore that's why the wheel spacer adapters where put on the truck .This combination would cause rubbing when turning and when you turn full lock it will hit the body mount in the wheel well. So the tires would have to be changed to a smaller size and the wheels would have to be replaced as well with the correct backspacing and offset to be able to not need the spacers anymore . The spacers are a concern because they change the geometry of the suspension and could cause premature ball joint wear and wheel bearing wear and also make the truck pull to the right when on the freeway , Travis's Excuse was there is a crown in the road lol . I lost confidence in the dealership and TE and thought the only way to solve the issue is have it fixed on my own . I want to share my experience with others to let them know what I went through . Modified Truck or not , this truck should have be in perfect working order for the money I paid the dealership . Plus I am out some of my personal money to fix these issues

We apologize for the confusion/miscommunication and the frustration it has causedWe did our best, within our means, to assist you; with this being a [redacted] deal and the already discounted price of the vehicle, covering the increased cost of transport was not an option for the dealershipAgain we are very sorry for the frustration this has caused Please contact me personally if I can further assist, [redacted]

Mr. [redacted] spoke to the General Sales Manager ( [redacted] ***) and went over his concerns with the day he leased his vehicle on June 11, 2016. Customer stated that his sales person had told him that the dealer would take care of his over mileage cost if it were traded in, not grounding the lease back to... the lender. General Sales Manager explained to customer that it’s a policy to go over all the options with the customer regarding lease end returns. Customer opted to return lease to lender. He asked customer to e-mail copy of invoice to see if he could review it to see if he could try to get assistance for customer by contacting Toyota Financial Services. After contacting Toyota Financial Sales he was not able to get any assistance for the customer.1. As a lease return going back to lender customer is responsible for any mileage overage also any wear and tear of vehicle.2. As a trade in customer does not have to pay for any mileage overage or wear and tear on vehicle.3. Customer could also elect to refinance the balance or payoff vehicle. Customer made a statement to General Sales Manager that he goes through this with all the other vehicles he has leased from other manufactures until he gets it waived or paid for. This is not a dealer issue to resolve so the customer needs to contact Toyota Financial Services.
