Toyota of Greensburg Reviews (49)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
INDISPUTABLE- My vehicle was in your service department four times for the same issue and I have spent $1006.24 and the issue continues. My vehicle did not have swirl marks on the overfenders or bumpers until after your body shop washed, applied cleaner and used a buffer on them. I never stated that the swirl marks was the result of repair from the dealership as stated in your response.Sun oxidation does not cause swirls. Oxidation fades plastic evenly.Attached are four pictures.1st 2001 Tacoma with oxidation on the overfenders. No swirl marks.2nd older Tacoma with oxidation on bumper. No swirl marks.3rd My Tacoma driver side rear showing bedrail plastic cap with no swirl marks and the overfender with swirl marks4th My Tacoma passenger side rear overfender was replaced in 2014 after accident. No oxidation and there are swirl marks. As far as your service manager inspecting several 2008 Tacoma's on your lot, I find that hard to believe since according to your website your dealership has only nine used Tacoma's and the oldest one is a 2011.Your service department had four chances to fix the issue and I've spent $1006.24 to have it fixed, which it never was and the issue continues.Your dealership need to take responsibility for the fact that you are wrong and after four visits for the same issue with a different explanations for each so called repair.I will not return to your dealership due to the incompetence of your service department and the stress that this is causing me and my family.
Regards,
[redacted]

Do not buy from these people they are untrustworthy and dishonest, they go over options on one truck talk about three others buy the time you are done you will not get what you want, and they will say "we went over the options". "There is nothing I can do for you but you can trade in your vehicle". What a joke ya I will trade in a vehicle one day old for 4 thousand dollar loss. Do not trust this dealership.

Review: I went to Greensburg Toyota to ask question about a 2015 Toyota tundra pick up truck. I explained to Sal C[redacted] that I'm looking to replace my Ford F-350 super duty pick up truck that is pulling my 12,000 lb fifth wheel RV . I then ask Sal what the tundras towing weight capacity is rated at. Sal said 10,000 lbs but it's way under rated and will have no problem doing the job in fact one of ourmaintainence staff members has a fifth wheel in his Tundra and pulls a fifth wheel trailer . I was given false information by the sales manager Sal C[redacted]. My husband and I were told by Sal that A fifth wheel hitch can be installed in a Toyota Tundra, he went on to say "the man in our maintenance department has a fifth wheel hitch in his tunda and pulled a fifth wheel". After we purchased the tundra that evening , the next morning I contacted the Trailer company to have the hitch installed and was told by there assistant that you can not put a fifth wheel hitch in a five and a half foot bed.

I Called Toyota to find out that they didn't know you can not put a fifth wheel in a tundra Sal C[redacted] and Brian M[redacted] sales manager said " our maintainence man here at Toyota has a fifth wheel in his toyota and pulled his fifth wheel trailer" since this phone call I've been in contact with the dealer multiple times trying to resalolve this problem, contacted Toyota corporate office four or five times and relieved a case number from them.Desired Settlement: I perchased the tundra for 47,000 with 6,030 miles on the odometer and the dealer is now saying The best they can do is give me 43,000. So I will already be out all my sales tax and also the four thousand dollar difference for a total of 7,053. We would like a refund due to there misleading information to the trucks abilities by there trained professional at there dealership.

Response:

Toyota of Greensburg is responding to case # [redacted].Toyota of Greensburg has been in contact with the customer off and on for several weeks. Customer in question came in on 7/7/15 and purchased a 2015 Tundra, ViN # [redacted]. There was no trade in this deal. Customer was in contact with one of our BDC Representatives at 11:08AM on 7/11/15. Customer stated that she tried to have a 5th wheel installed but was toid that they could not install on that type of vehicle. Customer was brought in the next week to discuss options with two Sales Managers because a 5th wheel was never discussed with Sales Associate during original purchase. Customer was in the dealership for several hours with two of our Sales Managers. The dealership offered to either buy back the Tundra or to trade it for a Dodge Ram that was available at the time. Customer did not like either of these options. On 7/14/15, customer in question submitted a [redacted] case through Toyota corporate. Customer requested better negotiation on the price of the trade in or the buy back. Customer was in contact with the same Sales Managers in addition to the General Manger, General Sales Manager and Customer Relations Manager over the span of an additional week. Customer was offered once again to come into dealership so that we could get the customer into a vehicle that wouid suit their new needs if in stock or buy back the vehicle. Customer threatened to "make a scene" in dealership if she were to come back in. General Manager discussed with customer that that would not happen but is more than willing to work with customer on either buying back the Tundra or trading it in for a vehicle in stock that would suit their new needs that were not originally discussed. On 7/23/15, the Customer Relations Manager once again tried to get the customer to come into the dealership to either buy back the vehicle or trade in the vehicle for a more suitable truck for their new needs. Final and original number (see attached) for the vehicle in question for buy back is $43,000.00, originally sold for $47,000.00. Customer is not happy with any of the offers given. Toyota of Greensburg has made many attempts to have customer come back in to either buy back or trade customer out of vehicle. Toyota of Greensburg apologizes for misunderstanding and is still more than willing to work with customer with numbers given and with new needs given after sale.[redacted]Customer Relations Manager

Review: Me and my husband went to Toyota of Greensburg on 8/26/14. We had an appointment to trade my vehicle in on an AWD vehicle. We were directed to a salesman named [redacted]. He took us out to look at some AWD vehicles. We decided on one and went inside to work on the details. We discussed a monthly payment that would work for us. Then another guy came over. His name was [redacted]. He sat down and asked me and my husband if they could get our payment to a certain amount would they earn our business. We both said yes. After about 5 or so minutes, [redacted] came back over and said that because of our FICO scores that it wouldn't work out with the vehicle we chose. Our payment would have been $100 more a month than what we had discussed. So, my husband asked if we could work something else out, like a car. Or at least something that was less expensive than a SUV? [redacted] just sat there shaking his head at us. He didn't even try to work with us. I was upset at the fact that that both people came over and told us that basically that they would work with us. Me and my husband thought that everything was worked out. Obviously not. They should have pulled our FICO scores before all that.Desired Settlement: They need to practice better communication with their clients or customers. Also, they should pull credit information prior to telling someone that they will work with them.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Toyota of Greensburg is responding to case # : [redacted]

Unless a customer would inform us up front of poor credit situation (example: previous bankruptcy, low credit scores, etc), dealership would not operate under pre-qualify (profiling) practices and automatically run their credit as the first step towards building a vehicle deal.

Once we began vehicle negotiations (ie. Pricing, term, rate) and arrived at the credit application portion of the process where customer credit scores were determined, we informed customer of rate qualifications which customers were unsatisfied with. At that time, the customer terminated negotiations. Without the customer's request, we did not proceed with submission to financial institutions.

Toyota of Greensburg is appreciative of the customer's feedback so that we were able to learn about their experience. We apologize that customer was not satisfied with their visit here, because customer service & satisfaction are our priorities.

Sincerely,

General Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I have a 2008 Tacoma that has been in their service dept 4 times for the same complaint and have been charged over a thousand dollars to have the issue continue. The issue I'm having is a squealing/chirping noise coming from the front driver tire area that will start at around 10 mph, but will stop if the brakes are applied. First visit I was told it was excessive rust on the rotor and was charged $115.00 for them to clean it. The noise started again 2 days later and I figured if it was rust and nothing mechanical I could live with it. After several month a few things happened, I had a leaf spring break and called to have it replaced. I was told that the leaf springs were on recall and would be replaced for free along with checking the frame for rust holes and they would re-coat it if there were no issues. When I took it in I mentioned that the noise from the tire was still there. I got a call and was told that the wheel bearing was bad and it was the cause of the noise. My wife and I were planning on going on vacation and I didn't want to have a break down in the middle of the trip so I agreed to have it replaced at a cost of $891.76. So they replaced the springs, found no holes in the frame and re-coated it. I picked the truck up and it looked nice and shiny after they washed it and applied something to the black overfenders and bumpers. The noise from the tire came back the next day. I called them and they wanted me to bring it back up. I couldn't get off work until a few weeks later. By that time what ever they put on my overfenders and bumpers wore off and you can clearly see were the somebody used a buffer on the overfenders (swirl marks from one end to the other) I finally took it back up and after having it all day they told me it was a rock wedged in behind the backer plate. I asked about the swirl marks on the overfenders and was told that their body shop doesn't use or have buffers and that they re-applied something to get the swirls mark out. The very next day the noise returned and I took it back. So the fourth time in they told me the problem was a divot in my rotor and they shaved it down. So after four visits and over a thousand bucks out of my pocket the noise persist and my overfenders are ruined and Toyota of Greensburg will not do anything to resolve these issues. I've talked to Rob H[redacted]Service mgr) several times and he would tell me to bring it in so he could hear the noise. The problem is, it's not a constant noise. It will not make the noise if it's wet or cold and I can't keep taking off work to take it in every time it starts. They also tried to explain that the noise was coming from my worn tires. I purchased new tires and the noise still happensDesired Settlement: I would like a full refund of what I was charged for replacing the wheel bearing that clearly wasn't needed. As far as them ruining my overfenders I would like them replaced, but I probably will never take my vehicle back to them for anything. I could put them on myself if they supplied them.

Response:

Dear Toyota of Greensburg is responding to case # [redacted]Customer states that he would like fully reimbursed for the wheel bearing and would like his wheel flares to be replaced. Customer never contacted Service Manager about having the wheel bearing refunded nor was he informed of having the wheel flares replaced as both of these issues were resolved for the customer. Customer has only spent a total of $891.76 to fix the problem "howling" noise on RO# [redacted] on 3/30/15 (attached). The howling noise was fixed by replacing the wheel bearings. Customer did spend $165.20 for RO# [redacted] on 4/3/15 (attached). This charge was for a regular checkup of the vehicle including: state inspection, emissions inspection, front wheel alignment, rotate and set tires and state sticker. Service Manager will not refund customer for wheel bearing because it was needed to stop the "howling" occurring in the customer's vehicle. Service Manger will not replace the wheel flares because the wheel flare swirls were removed as per stated on RO# [redacted] on 4/15/15 (attached). Service Manager has talked to the customer several times. SM would like customer to come into dealership as he was offered so the SM can drive the vehicle to find the chirping noise. SM would also like to look at the wheel flares to see if swirls still exist on them. If so, SM will make judgment on the next step to fixing the problem. SM is more than willing to help customer get all of the remaining issues resolved with the customer's vehicle as stated above and stated to customer on multiple occasions.Rob H[redacted]Service Manager[redacted]Customer Relations Manager

Review: On Saturday, January 31st 2015, I went out to Toyota of Greensburg to look for a used vehicle to buy. Upon talking with [redacted], a sales representative there, I was shown the new 2015 Rav-4. I had some interest and returned the following Tuesday, February 3rd 2015, to speak more about their vehicles. I was referred to another sales representative, [redacted], as [redacted] was busy at the time. [redacted] had talked to myself and my father more about the Rav-4. Prices were discussed and I was not ready to make a decision. Before leaving, [redacted] brought up a 2010 Lexus RX 350 on Toyota of Greensburg's website, stating that it is a great Lexus certified pre-owned vehicle in which they just traded a Lexus dealership in Ohio for. I was interested and [redacted] pulled the vehicle around to the front of the building where myself, [redacted], and my father test drove the Lexus. The rest of that week, the sales manager, [redacted], had been keeping in touch with me about the vehicle via text message. The price of $23,500 was too much for me to want to pay at this point in my life. I asked [redacted] if he could lower the price and if I could see the price of adding an extended warranty, since I was told that it only came with a 3 month/3,000 mile warranty. [redacted] said that he would lower the price of the vehicle to $22,500 and add a 2 year warranty for $1850, then states my monthly payment total in the same test stating that this is with everything. I took everything to mean taxes and all, which upset me later when the price was higher but that is not my main concern at this point. That week I decided to put a $500 payment down on the vehicle to hold it as I was interested in purchasing and [redacted] had told me he needed $500 to hold it. The following Saturday, February 7th 2015, my dad and I went back to Toyota of Greensburg to pick up the vehicle and I had to use my VISA card to place $3500 more down and also traded in my 2004 Nissan Altima for $1,000. I was very excited as I knew, although 5 years old, the vehicle was in great shape and had been inspected by Lexus since it was certified as [redacted] and the advertisement on the dealership's website had confirmed. I was quickly rushed through all the paperwork with the financial worker, was talked into a 3 year warranty for $3,100 which I was told would be reimbursed if I traded the car in, was talked into buy a rust and paint protection package and signed numerous papers along with 3 signatures on an electronic device without being informed what the last 3 signatures were for. As soon as I was shown the final breakdown of money after I signed, it was much more than I had thought, primarily because of the additional warranty, the protection package, and the taxes. This all made sense to me after reviewing the purchase but when I got home I was very upset as I had initially taken the text from [redacted] to have included the tax in the price of the car since he said it was with "everything." At this point I am still aware that it may have been a misconception. My real problem was when I did more research and was able to save the advertisement off the dealer's website before they removed it. The advertisement stated that the vehicle was certified per-owned by Lexus and that it comes with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. I was told only a 3 month warranty and talked in to buying an extended warranty because of this. I contacted the general manager on 2-9-2015 and was unable to get through. I then contacted him on 2-10-2015 after we had played phone-tag for a day. I was extremely nice in my presentation as I did not think it would be a big deal to honor the warranty as it was certified and said so on the advertisement and the sales representative assured me of this. To my surprise, the general manager, [redacted], told me that he has no idea what the advertisement states and that he is not in charge of the website advertising. He informed me that the vehicle was not certified pre-owned, even stating that he is a toyota dealer and is unable to certify them as lexus certified. The vehicle just came form a lexus dealer, which is where I would think it could have been certified in the first place. Therefore, [redacted] refused to honor the warranty or take the car back and repeatedly stated in our phone call that it is not certified. I asked [redacted] for his email and sent the advertisement to the email he provided me with on Tuesday, 2-10-2015 as he asked for. I did not receive a response. I sent him a picture of the advertisement on 2-11-2015 in case he could not open the previous attachment I sent the day before. On the same day I sent [redacted] an email stating that I want the car taken back because I was clearly mislead in every way possible that the vehicle was certified pre-owned only to find out it is not, or I would have to contact the Attorney General. I would not have bought the car if it wasn't. I do not want to do business with this company as I was treated very poorly and obviously lied to by the company's sales representative and the online advertisement. I told [redacted] in the email that I would give him until the end of 2/12/2015 to respond to me and I have not heard back since so I was inclined to send this complaint. Also, on 2/12/20I5 I also was in contact with the financial worker to cancel the extended warranty and rust protection package as I should have been given one since it is Lexus certified, which I had to fax a signed letter to him so that he could remove it. I canceled these add-ons as I was told I was able to do during the sales agreement, and I feel that I should be able to return the vehicle for a full refund. I do not like complaining like this as it is a huge inconvenience to me, however, I just want there to be justice and do not want to enable unethical actions like this by simply ignoring it. - I have the advertisement saved in a document as I was able to save it off their website before it was removed.Desired Settlement: I would like Toyota of Greensburg to return this Lexus RX 350 for a full return of the money I put down ($4,000), my trade in value of the 2004 Nissan Altima I traded ($1,000) as well as all the money I had to financed through Toyota Auto Credit, including all the tax. I will return the vehicle ASAP. I would hope that there wold be consequences for this type of unlawful action so that it is further prevented in the future. - Thank you so much for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Letter Date: 03/10/2015 To whom it may concern:The complaint to Toyota of Greensburg was submitted on 2/14/2015 9:21:46 AM, and was assigned the ID of [redacted].On 2/7/15, the customer purchased a pre-owned 2010 Lexus RX 350, VIN # [redacted]. Customer states that he paid more than what was originally offered by advertisement. Customer states that in the advertisement, the Lexus in question was certified pre-owned from Lexus and came with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. Also states that during paperwork, he was pressured into purchasing a 3 year warranty and rust proofing package.Customer wants to return the vehicle to the dealership in full including money down and money from his trade.Customer was contacted and brought into dealership on 2/9/15, 2/10/15 and 2/11/15. Review: Horrible service department! Would not recommend doing business with this dealership!Desired Settlement: Replace seatbelts

Review: My husband and I purchased a 4Runner from this dealership on 4/4/16. Included in the package was a remote starter that was to be installed at a later date. The cost of the remote starter was $499 plus sales tax.

The remote starter was installed on 4/28/16 but it does not work correctly. The service department knew this before I left and I was told it would have to be brought up to the sales department. In trying to research a work around for the issues I found that the remote started that was installed has a sale price of between $50-75 online.

I have been trying to reach the dealership to remove the remote starter since it is not of the quality that was expected and to get my money back since I was sold a Toyota brand starter and given an inferior product but they do not respond to voice mails or emails.Desired Settlement: I am requesting the dealership remove the remote started that does not work correctly and issue a full refund.

Response:

Complaint ID 1[redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted],We are in receipt of the Complaint filed by Mr. [redacted] on August 7, 2016. We are quite disappointed to hear that Mr. [redacted] believes his experience at our dealership was anything less than satisfactory. As you might suspect, our goal is to make sure that all of our customers are treated in a professional, honest and fair manner. We are exceptionally proud of our track record in this regard, but we recognize that there is always room for improvement. It is with this spirit that we considered Mr. [redacted]’s concerns. We have reviewed the allegations outlined in Mr. [redacted]’s complaint and have reviewed our records with respect to Mr. [redacted]’s purchase of a pre-owned 2010 Toyota Prius (the “Vehicle”) from Toyota of Greensburg (“Toyota”). Mr. [redacted] purchased the Vehicle on May 9, 2016. Per the attached Buyer’s Guide, which was signed by Mr. [redacted] at the time of purchase, the vehicle was sold “AS IS - NO WARRANTY”. Mr. [redacted] signed an additional form, which is also attached, stating that the vehicle was sold “AS IS” without warranty, and further stating that the “purchaser will bear the Entire Expenses of Repairing or Correcting Any Defect that Presently Exists or That May occur in the Vehicle”. This form notes that the mileage at the time of purchase was 111,643. Mr. [redacted] also reviewed and signed the Vehicle’s attached Carfax Vehicle History Report which detailed the Vehicle’s service history. Finally, Mr. [redacted] was given the opportunity to purchase four different levels of warranty and insurance protection for the vehicle at the time of purchase, all of which he declined (see attached Option forms signed by Mr. [redacted]). Mr. [redacted] returned to Toyota on July 14, 2016, and reported that the Vehicle was using excessive amounts of oil. At this visit the Vehicle mileage was noted to be 120,293 (8650 miles more than at the time of purchase). Toyota inspected the vehicle and performed diagnostic tests to monitor the oil consumption of the vehicle. The tests revealed that the engine was consuming one quart of oil per 500 miles of driving and the cause was stated as failure to oil control rings. The manufacturer’s suggested remedy for this repair is replacement of the Vehicle’s short block engine at an estimated cost of $5200.Steve M[redacted], General Manager, spoke with Mr. [redacted] and shared our findings with him. Mr. [redacted] offered the following options for resolving this issue:1. We secured the manufacturer’s agreement to pay 50% of the parts cost for repair of the Vehicle (replacement of the short block engine). Toyota of Greensburg will also share in the cost of parts and labor for the repair, leaving Mr. [redacted]’s total out of pocket cost at $1000. This represents approximately $4200 in good will on the part of Toyota.2. Mr. [redacted] offered to trade Mr. [redacted] out of the Vehicle. Mr. [redacted] declined this offer because the payment was not acceptable based on his demands and needs. While we firmly believe our dealership has done nothing wrong in this instance, we are, nevertheless, willing to work with Mr. [redacted] to resolve this issue. Our good will offer stated above remains in effect. Should you have any further questions or concerns about this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,TOYOTA OF GREENSBURG
