I was in the market for a new (2022) 4-Runner. They had one in stock for sale. Ir was a trim level above what I wanted; nonetheless, I was willing to to pay the extra money. They gave me fair-market appraisal of my trade-in -- also a 4-Runner -- but they wanted nearly $10K above MSRP for the new car, attributing the increase to a "market adjustment." Outrageous! Most other car dealers are marking up new cars by $500-1000 in my area (Charlotte). Price gouging is what I call it. Taking advantage of small-town hard-working people who may be limited in their choice of a Toyota dealership. You can get a much better deal if you are willing to travel an hour or two from Greer.

Service Fraud at Toyota of Greer
I had work done on my 2012 Highlander this week at Toyota of Greer. I provided written instructions on what was to serviced. They charged me for parts and service that were not performed and then lied about it. How do I know? I marked the parts in advance and video taped it. Thieves plain and simple.

Revdex.com: I received a phone call from the General Manager (Jed H [redacted] ) at Toyota of Greer The conversation was pleasant.He promised that the payment would go out Fedex today, that the contract amount would be paid and the bank would refund any overages to me.Regarding the interest accrued on the account the General Manager said I would not be paying interest accrued on the loan after the purchase date of 11/28.That's my best understanding of his statement.Where I stand at this point:1) I want to wait and see if indeed the payment is made as promised.2) I want to verify that I will not be paying interest during the interim period between the purchase date and the payoff dateFrankly I am skeptical about this but will be patient and give TOG a chance.Please keep this complaint open for now Thank you for helping me in this matter, Brian H [redacted]

He made sure not to give us a copy of any paperwork that was sighedBut I am sure this business, has security camras, which if pulled they will show us signing papers, and also show, us not receiveing any paperwork

Again, *** will be glad to meet with them and explainThat is the very best we can do at this pointUnless they have more information that what was provided in the initial complaint, there is not much more we can doThe payoff was reduced by the amount of the payment, thus the amount financed on the new loan was reduced the commensurate amountThe net affect is that the payment made was credited to themHad we not reduced the payoff to reflect the payment, then yes, they would be due a creditHowever, that is not the case.I suggest a sit down with *** *** It would be in everyone's best interestThis forum of complaint and response, rejection and response is not going to resolve the conflict.Thank you

decision regarding the extension of credit and the terms of creditOf course, the customer is free to obtain financing on his or her own with their bank or credit union. Thank you, Bob H***

I don't understand how they believe that they will be double paying me when we made the April payment for a car that we no longer owned. My husband and I will speak with them but I do believe that they are wrong!

obtaining this from customer. Seems matter cleared up now.

Thank you for forwarding this matter to my attention. The customer by its own admission in the complaint illustrates that they were given credit for the payment. The extra payment they made reduced the payoff, thus reduced the amount financed in the loan. It is simply reflected in the amount of...

the loan. To "give them a refund" for the payment, would essentially be giving them double credit.We would be glad to discuss this with them in person.
