Toyota of Wallingford Reviews (43)

Review: I left a deposit for a 2013 USED Toyota Tundra on 11/7/2015 at the dealership. The next day, after speaking with my wife decided to not buy the vehicle. I tried to contact the dealership on Sunday but the salesmen was not working. I was able to get a hold of the Internet Sales Manager on Monday Ron J[redacted]. Ron proceeded to yell at me over the phone and bhed at me that I took up so much of the sales persons time. I tried to smooth it over and said I would use the $500 towards parts. The salesmen CJ M[redacted] said I could use it on parts. The parts salesmen Phil said that Harold the Operations Director would contact me and he did. Back and forth with Harold on the phone he took my credit card number and still didn't refund me the money. It was never told to me that the deposit was not refundable and the receipt does not say it and I never was yelled at by an auto manager like Ron J[redacted] went off on me. Harold said he reprimanded Ron for his actions. But still no resolution. The deposit is on [redacted] card and I disputed the charge online.Desired Settlement: Refund my [redacted] card $500

Review: In October of 2012 I purchased a vehicle([redacted])from this business. After driving my vehicle over some time I noticed that the gas was burning at an excessive rate. I did return and notify the dealership about my concern. The company stated that they hadn't found any concerns resulting from my information giuven to them. The problem still continued and I continued to attempt to rectify this issue. After noticing that this problem was gettingh worse I then took my vehicle to Acura by executive and had them put the vehicle on a diagnostic tester to narrow down the issue. Once all tests had been performed on the vehicle it was discovered that the catalyic converter was missing from the vehicle. I immediately notified Toyota of Wallingford to have this resolved. I spoke to the general manager of the company and explained my concern. I was told that 1st. They would never sell a car without the catalyic converter and they weren't responsible because of the time i'd owned the vehicle, it couldn't be verified that no alters were done. 2nd. I brought the vehicle in to be inspected and was told that they would replace the converter if I paid for the part and they would cover the labor costs, but would not warranty the work done.Desired Settlement: I would like the costs of the gas for the time owned while this problem existed to be reinbursed, I'd also like to have the same vehicle replaced based upon the fact that it is illegal to sell any vehicle without a catalyic converter in the United States. The vehicle purchased was not what it was supposed to be and I believe that under the lemon law it should be rectified appropriately.

Response:

Mr. Blount purchased his [redacted] in October 2012. A used car safety check was performed in October 2012 with the mileage of 75,530, used car technician did not find car needing a converter and if it did, Toyota of Wallingford would have completed all repairs before putting on our lot to be purchased. Also, car passed all Connecticut required emmissions. Customer has not been to Toyota of Wallingford for any servicing since time of purchase and came back in March 2014 with the mileage of 112,018, claiming he was sold this vehicle without a catalytic converter. In March 2014 we did diagnose vehicle needed a Catalytic converter and were willing to work with our customer and decided, even though car was not sold that way, he would be resonsible for paying for the after market part of $350.00 plus tax and we would cover the installation and labor. Have not heard from customer as of yet. Toyota of Wallingford will consider this closed with no further dispute.

Review: I had purchased the vehicle with additional tire and paint warranty. I was recently informed that the warranty cannot be used due to the fact that my tires have worn down to specfied thickness, they stated that this voids the warranty. The fact of the matter remains that I have routinely brought my vehicle to the same dealership for oil changes and tire rotation. At know time was I informed that I should replace my tires. I find it hard to believe that in between my oil changes the mechanic did not notice the ware on the tires. My request is that I receive what I paid for. My tires need to be replaced and I my warranty should cover the cost.

Product_Or_Service: Toyota Sienna - Mini Van

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I would like my tires replaced at no additional cost to me. My warranty should be upheld.

The tire warranty that customer paid for is for road hazzard that afffects the tires not normal wear and tear. Also, customer was informed and is noted on repair order what the tire depth was on tires at the time.
