Transmission Experts And More Reviews (22)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First of all, I know I am out of my warranty range.  But when I was within the range and brought it back 3 times to get it fixed I was told "the engine light is not on, so it will not throw any codes" therefore nothing was done to my car, which tells me that they just didn't want to look at it.  The engine light is not on now and the shop I have it now  told me "the light will not come on but the computer can override that and get in the transmission to find out what it wrong with it".  I received the call yesterday telling me that the drum and all the clutches are gone inside the transmission.  If it had been rebuilt in the first place the drum and clutches would not go completely out 1 1/2/ years later.   I mean the vehicle will not go into gear at all which left me stranded and I had to have the car towed.  Why would I take my car back to the shop that was orignally suppsosed to fix the problem and then refuse to look at the vehicle when I brought it back 3 times within the warranty range?  I need my vehcile to get to work everyday therefore; I don't have time to waste on my car sitting in a shop for 2 weeks only to be told there's nothing wrong with it, which is what happeneed to me 3 times.  As far as the fluids, not only do I check my fluids in my vehcile every Sunday as routine, when I have my oil changed every 3 months they check all fluids, and as a matter of fact told me that the transmission fluid smelled burnt 6 months after I supposedly had the transmission put in.  I brought it back in to your shop and questioned that and was again nothing was wrong with it.  As far as fullfilling your obligation 9 months ago, your obiligation was never filled because my car was never worked on I believe.   This was a $3700.00 mistake on my part trusting you.
Regards,[redacted]

To whom it my concern. The [redacted] did bring their vehicle to our shop. We put the vehicle on the lift and inspected the bottom of the vehicle. Upon inspection we found fluid which appeared to be coming from the front of the transmission. At that time we told Mr [redacted] what we have found and...

explained to him that we would have to remove the transmission to inspect it, and then make a recommendation to what needed to be done. We removed the transmission and called Mr. [redacted], and informed him that the seal could be replaced, but it would continue to leak unless we rebuilt the transmission. He refused and declined the correct repair. Mr. [redacted] stated that he had this same type of repair done a few years prior and the repair lasted a few years and that's what he wanted. I told him we would proceed with the repair, but at the same token I told him it probably wouldn't fix the leak and that the leak could persist. While trying to complete the repairs we needed a seal from Ford because we couldn't secure it from another source. So we ordered it from the local Ford dealership and waited for the part to arrive because the Ford salesperson at that time the seal could take up to 2-3 days or more ordering it in. We finally received a call from the Ford dealer that the seal had arrived and we immediately sent a rep from our facility to pick the part up, but upon inspection of the seal we found that the ordered seal was incorrect for the repair, it wasn't of the right size so we talked to the salesman and he said it was his error, and that he ordered the wrong part number and assured he would have the correct seal coming. We try to be as fast and efficient with any repair to be done quickly, but sometimes we have to rely on people not under our control and hope their expertise will be reliable. So if the [redacted] felt we were just putting them off, then that was not the case as I explained to them we were waiting on parts and that as soon as the part came in we would definitely do everything possible to get their vehicle back and delivered to them. We also employee an exterminating company that services our area monthly to spray for ants, bugs, ect. We haven't had anyone else complain to us about ants being in their vehicle. The only logical explanation I can think of is that it was very hot and humid outside at that time and while the car was parked in the parking lot the ants must have found a food or water source in the [redacted] vehicle. I can assure you that we didn't put ants in a customers car(?) for any reason as we take our career serously. Now with that being said we would have loved to assist the [redacted] in removing the ants had we been informed but where unaware until this complaint. Most of the repairs we do our minor and not major repairs and we can prove this fact. Minor repairs make up about 80% of the repairs we perform, so saying or claiming that we try to 'trick' or 'push' people into getting a major repair is a false and unfair accusation. Transmission Experts doesn't want the [redacted] or any of our customers to be unhappy. Now if they bring the vehicle back we will try and get the leak stopped or or minimized to the best of our ability without rebuilding the transmission. Just call us when you're ready and want to bring the vehicle back, and we will see what we can do to help. Thanks
