Dear Mr. Ritter,
I have taken the time
to thoroughly review your application documents for a tourist visa to China, as
well as all of the calls, and reviewed emails
The application that
you filed with the Chinese Consulate, and the request that you submitted
with Travisa on your global service order form is for a tourist visa
to China.
The document that you
marked itinerary in the original documents that we received noted a date of
June 22. We looked in all received email to determine if any email was
received with an actual itinerary from you, and none was received. On
June Avery sent you and email where he specifically stated not to change
your flights. If the itinerary we received had flights booked for June
we could have requested faster, even same day processing, as Avery mentioned in
a phone call with you
Based on the itinerary
that you provided to us the departure date showed June 24. The Chinese
Consulate accommodated a day processing time to meet the itinerary that you
provided
We did not charge the
Consulate rush processing fee or the service fee for your case, however the
request to reimburse you change fees for a flight will not be accommodated
Please feel free to
contact me directly if you have any additional questions

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because Travisa does not practice what they promote- working closely with agents to expedite processing. The company also is not taking responsibility for the slack of their employee. If my visa had been processed with a yes or no response, I would understand the need to pay for the cost of processing, but I never even got to that point, which makes their whole business philosophy a scam.

Based on conversation with customer they advised they had contacted Revdex.com to retract this complaint as the issue was resolved to their satisfaction just after they submitted this review.Eric M[redacted]

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  The issue here is that US Citizens does not require to have a Visa entering to Qatar,  as US Citizents when we arrive in [redacted] we just need to present our US passport and the Immigration officer will stamp the passport and we pay less than 100 USD fee.   When I contacted Travisa in multiple ocassions I made them aware that I was traveling for tourism for a period of less than 10 days and if all of this was necessary and their respose was YES which is completely unethical.   Later on when the day of my trip was approaching I kept insisting with them why the Qatar Embassy is taking so long, I insisted if perhaps they can do something about it and the Qatar embasy kept telling them that Visa will be delivered on xxx day which never took placed.  Travisa kept insinting that was because the Qatar was closed.  Yes they were closed on snow days but had nothing to do with the fact extra expenses could of been avoided because by them overnighting my passport since Visa was not required I did have to spend money in flight changes fee plus Travisa Visa Fees and if they would of been honest and have good busienss ethics.
Regards,[redacted]

Unfortunately there is rarely a yes or no response from the consulates.  Travisa is not responsible for the actions or inaction of Embassy/Consular officials and personnel. Without limiting the foregoing, Embassies and Consulates may request revised or additional documentation. We are here to help you navigate the process.  Our records show you were contacted by your representative when we needed more documentation in order to help process your visa. When you decided to cancel your visa process, you forfeited your refund as per our terms and conditions. In good faith, we refunded the consular fees to you however we are unable to provide you additional refund. Please note our refund policy.Refund Policy: If for any reason you wish to cancel a service before your passport and other supporting documents are received by Travisa Visa Service you can do so by sending a written cancellation request to [email protected]. You will receive a refund of all prepaid fees, excluding non-refundable reservation fees, and less a 6% processing fee for credit card transactions. If you decide to cancel after your passport and supporting documents were received by Travisa Visa Service no refund will be given and the service will be completed. No service fees, embassy fees, courier fees, shipping charges or any portion thereof will be refunded after the documents have been received and the application process has begun. Tell us why here...

On June 30th, our Houston office received application and supporting documents for China visa from [redacted]. After reviewing the application, we contacted the applicant to clarify purpose of visit as well as applicant’s permanent address. China visas are jurisdictional; each consulate has serves...

selected number of states. [redacted]’s proof of address which is her driver’s license determines which consulate the application is submitted. Per clarification received from applicant next day on July 1st, we mailed the application and supporting materials to our office in Washington DC at our cost. As July 4th was a Federal holiday, the application was file to Embassy of China on July 5th. On July 7th, the application was returned for clarification on the application which was provided to consulate by obtaining the information on same day. On July 13th, Embassy requested additional documents and [redacted] was informed immediately. On July 14th, we submitted additional documents provided by the applicant. After further review, the application was returned on July 15th by the Embassy requesting additional documents which are not part of the requirements usually requested by the Consulates or Embassy. Applicant was informed via phone call followed by an email within 2 hours to provide additional documents. On July 18th, we were informed by [redacted] that she would like to cancel the process. Per Travisa’s terms and conditions(attached), no fees are refunded once the process is started however consular fee in the amount of $45.90 was refunded to applicant. Please note that each country's requirements for passports and visas and related information are established by sovereign nations and are subject to change without notice. Processing times and approval of the visa are the prerogative of the Embassy of China and its Consulates and the Travisa does not play a role in the decision making for applications which are submitted to the Embassy and its Consulates. After thoroughly reviewing the timeline and notes on this case, we are unable to provide compensation requested.

Review: I started to get Travisa to help me in obtaining the Chinese visas for my husband and my daughter last month in September with their precheck service. During a period of 3 weeks, I attempted it 3 times, filled out 6 different applications, each time there was something different that needed attention. They either pointed out items that needed corrections, needed additional information or information was not correct (in their opinion). Each time I jumped thru the hurdles they presented and still questions that I had remained unanswered. I finally could not put up with the frustration any longer, complained to their DC office and their Chicago office, letting them know I no longer wish to do business with them. I just found out they still charged my credit card for the $58 precheck fee. I called them, they said because the precheck was executed. It may have been initiated, but it was never executed. We were still going back and forth on questions that I have and opinions that I expressed. I chose to go with another company, thus nothing was delivered. They did not complete their precheck service.

To add to my point, I chose another company to go with. Filled out the application the exact same way I did before with Travisa, and got the visas in 5 days with no hassle. The incident reassured me that it was not my deficiency that caused the problem with Travisa, since I did not have any issue with the other company I chose. I was able to pick up the phone, call them anytime with any questions, thus business was transacted with ease. Whatever went wrong with Travisa is not my problem, but the fact that they charged me for services not rendered IS absolutely a problem to me.Desired Settlement: I do NOT believe a company gets the right to charge the consumers on services that were never delivered. It was bad enough that the experience was so horrible. Charging me for the $58 precheck fee is unacceptable.

Review: Travisa has a claim on their website - "Travisa will continue to do everything possible to expedite processing for our clients. "

I applied for Visa on 5/22 and subsequently made corrections and all the paperwork was ready by 5/29.

I asked Travisa around 6/3 whether a payment confirmation was received from [redacted] and was told they did.

It appears that they have not processed payment until 6/10. Travisa needs to be more open about the process.

And also for anyone traveling in a short time frame and already made travel plans, Travisa should advise the applicant to go to [redacted] directly. I also asked this same question and was not given that answer. The reason I applied through Travisa is that I assumed Travisa would have good collaboration with this company so they can track my Visa better, but I have done all the hard work and finally found that the application was not even initiated till 6/10.

The case number is [redacted]. The Visa was supposed to be picked by 6/9 as per Travisa as the intitial estimate in their system. The status said the application was being processed by the embassy. Travisa did not follow up with [redacted] whether the application is being processed when in fact the application actually started process only on 6/10 at 9pm. I am disappointed that I paid additional $70-$80 but in fact got no assistance in getting the visa on time. Had Travisa followed up and made sure the embassy is processing the application, like I assumed would happen for the extra money I paid Travisa, I might have had a chance. Now with no visa, I have to pay an extra $3000 to change my tickets to another time.Desired Settlement: Travisa should refund the service fee as they simply seemed to act as a courier service. There was misinformation given and the status shown on their website is incorrect. They should also stop handling Indian Visas as it only causes further delays.

Business

Response:

Review: My name is [redacted] and I am currently deployed on a business assignment to Qatar and am here on a business visa.

My wife, [redacted], has recently visited me here; we engaged Travisa to process her tourist visa. Upon her arrival, we learned that those traveling on a tourist visa to Qatar can have their visa processed upon arrival in Qatar and therefore the following content on the Travisa website is false and misleading:

1. Passport Requirements:

Original passport and two photocopies of photo/information pages. Passport must be signed, valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.

The assertion that the passport must be sent to Travisa for processing a tourist visa is false and misleading.

3. Photo Requirements:

Two recent 2 x 2 passport photographs, in color, front view and with a WHITE background. These must be professional photos on water resistant and tear resistant ID photo paper. Digital photo paper or any other type of photo is not acceptable.

The assertion that passport photos must be sent to Travisa for processing is false and misleading.

4. Letter Of Invitation from Qatar:

A letter of invitation from sponsor explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information.

No letter of invitation from Qatar is required for a tourist Visa from the United States - this false and misleading.

5. Financial Requirements:

Evidence of sufficient funds to support stay in destination such as pay stubs, traveler's cheques, and/or most recent bank statement.

Financial information is not required for US citizens traveling to Qatar on a tourist visa; this is false and misleading.

Travisa was unable to process [redacted]'s visa on time despite the fact that it was submitted well within their guidelines for processing time. We thus had to change our flight resulting in a change fee and additional difference in fare fee.

Because of Travisa's false and misleading advertising, we incurred financial damages as a result of procuring passport photos, paying Travisa a processing fee and paying [redacted] both a change fee and a difference in fare fee.Desired Settlement: I am seeking reimbursement for the following:

1. passport photos: $17.95

2. Travisa Processing fee: $450

3. [redacted] change fee: $300

4. [redacted] difference in fare fee: $735

Total: 1502.95

Please note, without an appropriate reimbursement, we will pursue this matter in small claims court.
