TREASURES Reviews (21)

Review: On October **, 2014 I went to Treasures Jewelry in [redacted] and gave a store representative, [redacted], my girlfriend's engagement ring. I asked for it be re-sized. [redacted] said he would have to me in a week. Today, October **, 2014, [redacted] called my girlfriend [redacted], telling us that the ring was ready for pick-up. We went to Treasures, looked over the ring and left the store. I paid $70.77 in cash. I requested a receipt for documentation. However, upon further inspection about 10 minutes later, my girlfriend and I noticed a side stone was missing. We were extremely upset, especially since [redacted] did not say anything about the missing stone or make mention of it when we paid the bill. The ring is valued at over $3000. We did not feel comfortable leaving the ring with this individual or anyone from his business. He stated that he would put the stone back in the ring and claimed it be an accident. He said that he would have it within a week. When my girlfriend stated that this was a problem, he began to state that we were "over-exaggerating" and making a small problem into a major problem. However, I did not want my ring to be in his possession. At one point, he began saying that my girlfriend was over-reacting and began to laugh about the situation with us in the store. My girlfriend was visibly upset and we left the store, standing outside. I called the police to file a report and to have a third party involved. I did not feel comfortable speaking with [redacted] without an unbias mediator. Additionally, I felt it was necessary to have some kind of documentation on the issue, especially since a side stone was missing and [redacted] did not tell us after we paid the bill. A patrol officer arrived and asked if it would be acceptable that [redacted] write down what occurred and signed the statement. I said yes, this would be acceptable. First, [redacted] only wrote another receipt. After this occurred, I told the officer that this was unacceptable and that it did not specify what transpired or that a stone was missing. It was important for the store's representative to take responsibility for the missing side stone in the diamond ring. After [redacted] began raising his voice, stating that I was calling him a receipt, I asked that we not communicate. After several minutes, I wrote what transpired and [redacted] signed that the bottom of the documentation. I have this document in my possession if needed. No police report was filed, but the officer did inform me that I could keep the documentation if I needed to present it at small claims court.Desired Settlement: Clearly, Treasures did not take proper care of my girlfriend's diamond ring. [redacted] never offered any kind of refund for the resizing, especially since they did further, most costly damage to the ring. I would like the $70.77 I paid to have it resized. It will cost AT LEAST this much to have another stone inserted in the ring. However, I find it important to document the transaction. It was extremely disheartening to deal with this level of service. I would like to know what follow-up action occurs on behalf of the Revdex.com. Thank you. - [redacted]

Thank you for sending this letter, and we fully acknowledge and remember the situation. The ring was re-sized and returned within the time frame as promised. Upon the return of the ring, the customer noticed that one of the pave diamond stones was missing. We charged the customer for the sizing and we fully did not realize that the stone was missing as it was not a large size and easy to notice.

We offered to replace the stone, free of charge, and available to be done the next day, but the customer went ahead and accused us of being thieves and went ahead to call the police. While we would gladly replace the diamond for him for free.

The refund for the resizing was not discussed as the customer left the store. Our customer satisfaction is very important to us, and if that is what will make him happy, we would gladly refund him the full amount of $70.77.

Best Regards,

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Can the business (Treasures) please send a check or money order with the refund amount to [redacted] at [redacted]? After the confrontation, my fiancee and I do not feel comfortable speaking with the same representative. We prefer not to go back to the store. I would appreciate the refund and will notify the Revdex.com if this can be done? It would make amends for the situation.

Sincerely,
