Tri-Temp Heating Air Conditioning Appliance Repair Reviews (34)

Review: The company came to my house, took my information and a check for $1085. In return, they were suppose to service my account by fixing the appliances in my home and a tune up of my AC/HVAC system. We have tried calling them(phone is disconnected) and emailing them(nothing back in return). I signed up for an account that would help service my house, not disappear.Desired Settlement: I want my money back, I don't want to deal with a company that will disconnect phones and not return emails.

Review: This repair shop was supposed to come to my house between 1-2 pm to fix my washing machine. They didn't show up until after 3:30, they didn't even call me to let me know they were going to be late. They unclogged the drain, working for only 15 minutes, charged $200. They didn't clean the mess they made, leaving my bathroom and kitchen flooded. I tried to do laundry and the machine had the same drainage problem. They didn't fix anything. I left 3 messages, they never called me back. I finally got in touch with them, they said they were sending someone right out to fix problem. It's been 3 hours since that call, nobody has come back yet, and they aren't answering calls again.Desired Settlement: Finish the job correctly. Get refund for payment. I've taken off 2 days of work waiting for them.

Review: Tri-Temp HVAC Appliance Repairs (also known as MA HVAC & Appliance Repairs) was hired to repair / replace multiple AC/Heating units to the sum of $10,823.92. An estimate charge of $1,629.38 was paid along with a deposit of $4,597.27 to begin the repairs back in June. As of to date, we have been unable to contact anyone via phone and/or email from Tri-Temp HVAC and/or MA HVAC for either a refund and/or the repairs to be completed.Desired Settlement: As we no longer care to do business with Tri-Temp HVAC and/or MA HVAC we are searching for a full refund in the amount of $6,226.65 for uncompleted services.

Review: Service call 7/**/2015. Oven needed part. Collected $200.00 to order part. Left...cashed check. They have ignored repeated calls to get an update. All email addresses are bogus. I have since learned this is their normal behavior and I believe I am being scammed. Is there anything I can do except learn an expensive lesson?Desired Settlement: Since their intent seems to be only to steal my money..not perform a service..I would ask for a full refund.

Review: I had electrical work done in my house by Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs (aka Tri Temp Heating Cooling) on 12/**/14. I paid for the work in addition to a service plan with Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs. More work needed to be done and a $350 deposit was required. I paid this deposit by check as was demanded. The [redacted] of the company, [redacted], took my money and never returned to do the work. He made up phony excuses to cancel appointments on more than 6 occasions and he never showed up. He didn’t answer his phone, emails or texts when I tried to contact him to reschedule for more than a month! When I did finally get in touch with him on 1/**/15, he assured me that he was sending me a refund for $400 ($350 deposit + $50 service plan fee). That was months ago and I still have not received my refund!

[redacted] has assured me both verbally and in writing that he would be sending me the monies owed to me on THREE separate occasions (verbally on 1/**/15 and 1/**/15, emails on 2/**/15 and 2/**/15) To this date, 3/**/15, I still have not received my refund of $400.

I have since learned that [redacted] and [redacted] of Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs DOES NOT HAVE A LICENSE! I have checked with Nassau County and was informed in writing that, “Tri-Temp Heating Cooling has no license to do any work in Nassau County.”

Therefore, I have two complaints about [redacted] and Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs:

1. [redacted] and [redacted] of Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs owes me a $400 refund for services that were NEVER provided.

2. [redacted] and [redacted] of Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repairs, performed electrical work in my home on 12/**/14 without a license. [redacted] misrepresented himself to me when he told me that he was licensed in Nassau, Suffolk and New York Counties.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my $400.

Review: "Field Rep" Matt came to my house within 2 hours of calling Tri-Temp to evaluate my appliance issues. I located Tri-Temp through [redacted] after looking for a company to repair my LG icemaker. He was very personable and gave me a very convincing detailed explanation as to the problem with the icemaker. He also evaluated a problem I am having with my gas stove top. He made a call, supposedly to his boss,to get the cost of the repairs. The repairs were going to cost almost as much as Tri-Temp's service contract so he gave me their contract information. The $800 contract was going to cover all my high-end appliances, as well as the annual service to my oil burner and air conditioning unit. It was also going to cover any other appliance I had, as well as, the AC in my car.He sent me a receipt for the contract cost via email before he left. I was to receive the contract in the mail and via email. I have received nothing.I have not heard from them in 2 weeks. They do not answer the phone.I have since learned that many others have had the same issues with Tri-temp.Desired Settlement: I would very much like to get my money for the contract back.I also want others to know that this company is not to be trusted.

Review: Called this company for a repair to my subzero. They showed up and talked me into signing up for a yearly service contract for $999 plus tax. Said they would cover all appliances and HVAC. They took my check and noted model numbers and parts needed for the oven, dishwasher and so on. three weeks now and nothing. They took my check and disappeared. they keep changing numbers, have different emails etc. I did a google search and others have complained about this scam as well. Stay away from this so called company and put them out of business for good!Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund for the contract price.

Review: Called company to repair my washing machine. They are obviously scam artists. After paying them for the part, I have not heard from them. I spoke to them last night & they assured me the part would be in today. I cannot reach them now. When I call them from my cell phone, I get sent to an answering machine. When I tried calling them from my work phone number, which they are unfamiliar with, someone picked up. Proof that they are avoiding my calls & that I lost my money. Is there any chance that I can get my money back? I left a voicemail saying that without someone coming tonight to repair, I would file suit in small claims court. Plus I just discovered that their email address is phony as well!Desired Settlement: I paid them $230. I have an invoice & a check #. I would like the money returned.

Review: I agreed to purchase a part for my washing machine to be installed upon its arrival. My check for the part was cashed. I had an appt. for the installation. The technician never showed up. The company has not returned five phone message requests to ask for a refund and two emails. I have a fully paid service contract with them. No service, no part and no contact with me. The amount of my check was $488.81. I asked for a refund because the technician failed to show up for four previous service appointments. I have documentation to support all of this.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my $488.81

Thank you for notifying our company of this customers complaint. We would like to address this issue that [redacted] has filed against us.First of all we would like to say that we are sorry that things had come to this.First of all we had a nice business relationship between us at the time. There was much work done for [redacted] by our company. There has been many nice discussions and compliments for the work done there. We have even corrected heating issues that other contractor have overseen. We have properly diagnosed jobs there and installed new parts needed based on educated testings and findings.Sizing sq footage and allowing proper CFM readings and upgrading the elements and coils. Also installing and replacing the new dryer vents.Cleaning the dryers completely and thoroughly.Checking improper rpms of the washers final spin.We were there several times under the service contract agreement free of charge as per the contract. The final job between us and the consumer was to replace the motor on the washer and we were to order it for the customer. In which the customer was deciding whether or not to just purchase a new washer as she did with the old dryer.Having friends in the appliance sales end at P.C Richards she was able to recieve Equiptment at a good price. Our company even agreed with [redacted] that for the price of the Equiptment versus the repair that the purchase was a good move.As per the washer once again [redacted] had to face that decision to make.Repair versus the new equipment. She chose the repair and went for the part needed. We were extreamly busy and seemed to drop the ball on the ordering but when discussing the the time frame with the consumer she was very upset. She ended up getting the unit and then told us to forget the repair and that she wanted the money back and now the service contract as well. Now that we feel that is not right due to the several calls that were done there under the contract with no charge and the prior work done as well. Also on the invoice that was signed clearly states that there is NO REFUNDS ON SERVICE CONTRACTS AND OR DEPOSITS.now we do value our customers and want everyone happywhen they the table. So we would like to compromise with this customer.[redacted] please email us and or call us and we will come to a civil and professional agreement that will make both parties happy.Thank you

Review: My washing machine broke last summer and I found "TRI TEMPS' name online. I called and they came to my home, in a regular car (not a business truck) and told me that they were affiliated with Sears and they take care of lots of their "overflow" service calls. It was a young Asian man and a young teenager. He examined the washer, seemed to diagnose the problem and told us that it needed a part that he would order and it would be in a few days. He said the only way he could order it would be with a $200 deposit. Stupidly, I wrote the check. He also began to explain that I could purchase a "blanket" coverage for $600 that would cover every appliance in my home. Thank God I didn't fall for that. So, he leaves and after 3-4 days, I began getting anxious and frustrated bc I didn't have a washer. So, the first couple of times I called, someone answered and told me that the part wasn't in yet. After a week or so, I kept trying to call and a machine would pick up and I left several messages. Lastly, when I continued to call, the number was "NOT IN SERVICE". What a scam. I was beyond frustrated and my check was already cashed at this point. AWFUL, awful experience and people in this world.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back as well as to place a SCAR on this terrible business. So upsetting.

Review: I met with [redacted] of Tri-Temp HVAC and Appliance Repair Service to discuss the repair of a whole house dehumidifier and the cost of a maintenance service contract for my furnace, CAC, hot water heater and all major home appliances. I was quoted a price of $895 (which included 50% payment of the repair on the dehumidifier), handed over the check and was told by [redacted] (who is the [redacted] company)that he would email me the contract as soon as he returned to the office, that the part would be ordered that day for the dehumidifier and he would call back with the information to set up an appointment to begin the repair. Other than follow-up phone calls and e-mails initiated by me, I have never been contacted by [redacted]. I never received the contract or had another appointment with [redacted]. He answered the phone only one other time and agreed to return my money. I have a trail of emails that support the actions and inactions of this bogus company.Desired Settlement: I believe I have been lied to and cheated out of $895. I am seeking to get a full refund in that amount. To date I have received NO services. The one time I saw [redacted] was when he came to my house to see the dehumidifier that needed repair since he was unfamiliar with that particular unit. He came to give me an estimate on that job and to check out the equipment on my property in order to further discuss my signing up for a full service maintenance agreement by his "company". I just want a refund

Review: I found this company through the Homeadvisor website. My ice maker needed repair. That was in January of this year. The [redacted], was prompt and courteous. He cleaned and tweaked my ice maker and made, what seemed, appropriate suggestions. I agreed to purchase a service contract for a discounted price of $300, which would cover the cost of the new ice maker. Additionally he said the service contract would cover all the appliances in my home, including the heater, boiler, air conditioner, washer, dryer, etc. His team, he said, would prep my AC in the spring, tune up my heater in the fall- all labor would be covered. He left with my check and a promise to call me when the new ice maker arrived. The next day the ice maker started working but the freezer was making a terrible noise. I held off calling [redacted] because he was coming back any day with the replacement ice maker anyway. After several days I tried calling TriTemp- but their voice mail box was full. I contacted them via email and did get a response and we set up an appointment for the next day. I spent the entire day waiting, my only contact through texting. They didn't even know who I was, had me mixed up with someone else (so they say). [redacted] finally arrived after 7- without the replacement parts! He did stop the noise and my ice maker was working again so I hoped it was a one off. [redacted] said he would send me the ice maker since he had it anyway. I still don't have it. Fast forward to this month. I had a problem with my heater. Called and texted for hours till someone got back to me and set up an appointment. That was on Friday 5/*/15. No one showed. After I texted numerous times I was given an excuse and asked to reschedule. My husband had to stay home the next day and waited all day-well beyond the time frame they quoted, till [redacted] finally showed. He needed to order parts and said he'd be back on Wednesday. I waited from 8 AM until 9 PM for him to show. (trying to contact them all day) They ignored most of my texts. By 9 PM I broke down and rescheduled again with a guarantee of a 9AM call today. It is now 7:30- and no one is here. This is criminal.Desired Settlement: I would like my items repaired and all my monies refunded. The initial $300 for the service contract/ ice maker and the additional $191 for the parts for my heater and AC tune up

Review: [redacted] came to our house to look at our Viking Appliances and also took a look at our AC units. As per [redacted] there were a couple of issues. We paid him about 300 for the service call. He then said he would order the parts that were needed for the appliances and will come back to work on our AC units. Per [redacted] he came back and did a temporary fix on one of the AC unit which took only about 30 mins. He then came back to look at our AC and told my husband it would cost 1,000 to fix it. He said there were a couple of issues and would need to look into it. He promised us to have this done on a specific date. We paid him 1,300 already and he never came nor has he called us back. It's been a month already. We then found another company Sound View and they fixed our AC for $600. [redacted] at Tri-temp had lied to us and kept our money without doing the services as promised.Desired Settlement: Service call $300Deposit of $1,000A total of $1,300 should be refunded to us. No work was done.
