Review: My complaint begins with Laser Cosmetica the previous company that was the original name before they opened the new company of True Body Med Spa. I was receiving services by Laser Cosmetica and they did not live up to what they promised as results of the laser hair removal. I was told that I would receive a refund from them and then the company went out of business. I got into contact with the same VP of Clinic Operations, [redacted], who told me that the new owner knew about my situation and was going to honor my refund under the new company on 8/**/13. I was told multiple times that my check went out and is in the mail and have still yet to receive any form of refund other than just empty promises. Please refer to my old closed case number for all the back information. Case # [redacted]. I was told I had to open a new case because now the new company promised a refund and I still didn't receive that one either. I have email and voicemail proof of the new promises of a refund from [redacted] on 8/**/13. I left multiple messages and finally received an email for the last time on 9/**/13. I haven't received any responses to either my phone calls or emails since then from her.Desired Settlement: I was promised a refund of 10% of my original amount paid, $843.09, but at this point for all the annoyance they've put me through for over 5 months at this point I believe I deserve more than that and at least half of my original amount paid, $8430.91.

Review: Beginning September 2012, I had purchased a laser hair removal package from Laser Cosmetica of Great Neck, NY totaling $1,000.00 and my mom a package totaling $400.00. The main reason for choosing this company is because they had weekend hours. I also purchased another package worth $500 two-three months later. Laser Cosmetica then moved to Syosset, NY, which was further distance from my home. I still decided to drive further for my treatments, however, after one month, they only provided weekend appointments once a month and were not easy to book appointments. There were unprofessional and poorly trained Technicians that never performed each treatment the same or on the frequency. July **, 2013, Laser Cosmetica closed, and was taken over by True Body Med Spa. No new contacts were given for prior clients. My appointments were cancelled last minute twice due to defective machinery and no staff, and unable to reschedule my appointments for 6 weeks post cancellation. Also, I had an appointment 8/**/13, and a Technician name [redacted] performed my laser treatment, which she burnt my skin in one area. I notified the office the following visit, and nothing was done about this matter after speaking to two employees [redacted] and [redacted]. Now I have a scar in the area I was burned. These laser treatments with both business' have been nothing but a headache. I began contacting the business the week of November **, 2013 to check my appointment time for 11/**/13 at their Syosset office, however I was told by [redacted] at the White Plains office that the Syosset location had been closed, and I was never notified. I was told I could travel to their other locations which was in White Plains, or Manhattan, resulting me to cross a bridge and pay the toll, with added time travel and inconvenient times. I was told to contact customer service via e-mail after talking to 3 different people regarding my issue. I e-mail "[redacted]" at customer service on 11/**/13, however no response. ( E-mail is provided below). Therefore, I decided to call True Body MedSpa again, and now all business phone numbers are not working numbers as of 12/**/13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------... 11/**/13 Hi [redacted], My name is [redacted], a client from True Body's Med Spa location in Syosset, NY. I was given your e-mail by a True Body Med Spa employee. I found out about Syosset's closing when I tried to call them to check on my appointment time, and there was no answer. I reached [redacted] from the White Plains office, and she told me the Syosset office had closed and I could come to White Plains or Manhattan for my treatments. However, she needed to return my phone call to discuss my concerns, which she still hasn't and I called twice and left a message. I am contacting you due to the recent closure along with the inconvenience this has put me in. In Brief, I began my laser treatments as a Laser Cosmetica customer of Great Neck in September 2012 for my mother and I. Laser Cosmetica then decided to move their office to Syosset which was an inconvenience to me since I live in Ozone Park, NY, which added approximately 20 minutes extra traveling time, without traffic, out East to long Island for a 5 minute laser appointment. Adding onto the extra travel time and gas, the Syosset office was only opening once a month on Saturdays, which was impossible to make appointments. I was rarely able to make appointments due to poor availability and due to the distance and traffic, I was unable to come during the week. Also, even when I had appointments made, I would receive phone calls that they had to cancel my appointment once due to broken machinery, and once for lack of staff. This office was very unprofessional and my mother and I are not happy with our laser results, which was also discussed with the manager at Syosset who offered me more treatments for another $500. Between my mother and me, we have spent $1,900 for treatments and I am not willing to pay more money. Similarly, we are not willing to travel any further than we have been, plus pay a toll for a bridge to white plains or Manhattan. I hope you understand my situation and I would like a refund for my packages. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience via email or phone at [redacted]. Review: This company is the RENAMED company of Laser Cosmetica in which there are hundreds of complaints of them stealing customers money and "going out of business" I have a claim against them for 1050 dollars that they stole from me by me paying for a product and me NEVER receiving it. There website is the SAME as Laser cometica...the pictures and all. I filed a report on Laser Cosmetica on [redacted] and an ex-employee of Laser cosmetic responded to my filing and revealed the name change!!!Desired Settlement: $1500

Review: I purchased a laser hair package for $800 on 8/*/14. [redacted], the spa manager at TrueBody Medspa at [redacted] has not schedule any appointments with me due to the machine being broken. I have gone in for 4 different appointments and each time she tells me the machine is not working so she has given me another service. I bought this package for hair removal specifically.

I would like a refund for the $800 so that I can go elsewhere. When I ask her to issue the refund, she stated that the owner needs to approve it. This has been going on for over a month now.

I would like a refund for the full amount of $800 to my [redacted], the card I used to purchase.Desired Settlement: A refund on my [redacted] credit card for the full amount of $800.

Review: On May **, 2012 I purchased a 6 session microdermabrasion package from Laser Cosmetica MedSpa. The total cost was $332. I paid for this over the phone with my Visa card. I made several attempts to request a copy of the receipt whether it be via email or fax and received no response. I decided to let it go since my credit card statement showed that the service was paid for. My first session was on January **, 2013. After my session, I inquired about laser hair removal treatments. It was suggested that a few hair removal sessions would help me to get better results with the microdermabrasion. I later purchased 10 sessions for $3,553. I had the option to pay it in full with a credit card or finance it with no interest as long as it was paid for over 6 months. I opted to finance the service through Fortiva Servicing (PH:[redacted]. I had my first laser hair removal session on Feb *, 2013 and had a second one in March. After that, scheduling further sessions proved challenging due to my schedule and their lack of availability. My schedule finally cleared up so I called on 5/*/14 to book my future appointments and found that the number was disconnected. After doing some research online I found that other locations had closed as well. Also, I went to their office on 5/*/14 and found out that they have been off the premises since Jan 2014. However, their name is still on the suite door but not on the building directory. I never received a phone call or letter stating they were closing or what would happen to the services I paid for. I am extremely upset as I spent in total $4,093.47 ($3553 +332+ $540.47 in interest charges) and I only have 1 microdermabrasion session and 2 laser hair removal treatments to show for it. I live pay to pay check so to lose this money is very hard for me. I put my trust in [redacted], the clinic director who constantly called me almost to the point of harassment to purchase their services, and they did not fulfill their end of the contract.Desired Settlement: I am totally disgusted with the fraudulent actions of this company that I do not want to continue the services should another location be available. I would like to have 100% of my money refunded.

Review: I entered into a contract with the former Laser Cosmetica (located at [redacted]) which is now TrueBody Medspa in January of 2013. I received financing for several laser skin treatments which totaled over $3000. The financing company, [redacted], paid the fee for services upfront. In July 2013, Laser Cosmetica shut down. I have tried to make appointments for services unsuccessfully. I was also told that I am not in their system so I am unsure what happened to my account. I did not receive the full amount of treatments contracted for however the company, TrueBody, did not refund the finance company for the services not received and I am still receiving bills from the finance company. At this point I do not wish to work with TrueBody Medspa any more.Desired Settlement: I would like my contract terminated with TrueBody Medpa and I would like them to refund the finance company, [redacted], what is owed so I can stop being billed for services not received.

Review: I purchased a package of 10 visits for $3,168 with Laser Cosmeritca on [redacted] Street in NYC for laser hair removal of my underarms, forearms, lower leg and bikini. I financed this through [redacted] Servicing and have paid for my complete package in full. After only receiving 3 of my 10 treatments, I was informed that Laser Cosmetica had gone out of business when calling to schedule an appointment. I contacted [redacted] Servicing and was advised that Truebody Med Spa would now be picking up those with packages from Laser Cosmetica and that only the [redacted] Street location would be able to accommodate those with packages. After getting to this location for my first treatment with them, the woman who checked me in went and changed into scrubs. Whether or not she was a true esthetician or not, I am unsure of - but after looking at my skin, she informed me I was "too tan" and she would not perform my full treatment, so she only did my underarm and bikini, which I was later burned by. When I informed her that the laser was extremely hot and burning my skin, she advised me that the setting was higher than my last visit, but I had never been to this location before - so where she got that information from is beyond me. Further, when calling [redacted] to dispute my account and receive a refund for my unused services, I was received a letter from them decling my request along with a letter from Truebody Medspa that was inaccurate stating I only purchased 6 treatments and that all had been used. When I contacted [redacted] to discuss this, they informed me I can call Truebody myself, which I did, and was given an email address to contact. I have since sent 3 emails to that address [redacted] and have not gotten any correspondence back. I then contacted [redacted] again and they informed me that many clients have been calling with the same complaints about this facility and advised me to send anothter dispute email to them. I did as they requested and within days received another denial letter back from Truebody. The letters that they are sending back are inaccurate and do not contain the accurate information of my purchase. They state that I am married, have cancelled 2 appointments (which I did not), and then states that I have used all of my services in one spot, but then in another, it states that I still have services remaining. Clearly this is faulty information and I do not see how this company can not give me my money back when it is not the company I purchased my services with nor am I happy with them. Their machine burned my skin and it took weeks to heal. If they do not want to give me a full refund for my services, that is fine with me - but being that I only used 3 of my 10 treatments, I feel as though I am owed a refund for those 7 sessions. I also received a number of free treatments when purchasing this package that were never used either. I have reached out to this company now multiple times with no return correspondence back. That is poor business practice and poor customer service. I am not sure what my options are here, but I would like to pursue anything I can to ensure this company does not do this to any other individuals and does the right thing by refunding my money.Desired Settlement: If they will not refund me for the entire price of my package ($3168), then I would like a refund for the 7 visits that I did not use. Technically my 3rd visit was not even a full treatment since the technician would not do my lower legs or forearms. But I will be satisfied with at least the 7 visits refunded as I feel this company cheated me out of my package and is stealing my money.

The phone recording states "the number is temporary disconnected." I have stopped by spa during office hours but door is locked... Review: I purchased a package for laser hair removal at the Braintree, MA location. After I purchased the package they closed and relocated to West Roxbury, MA. I had some treatments and they sold me a second package for when I was done with the first one to continue my treatments with possible results. I did not get to finish the first package before they closed in March a day before my apt I was notified about the closure. I was told that they were going to reopen again in Braintree in a month. I had never heard back again after that. I called several times and left messages and found out that the company had changed it's name from Laser Cosmetica to True Body Med Spa. They are only located in NY now and claim they may open in MA in a year. I told the woman on the phone to put a request for corporate to contact me about a refund and they had never contacted me back. I paid a total of $1400 on services that I either never got to use or got useless results because of the lack of treatments in due time because of closures.Desired Settlement: All I want is a refund of my money paid for the lack of care, customer service, and not completing my paid for services. The total of my purchases was $1400. My first transaction was $900 and the second was for $500.

Review: The Business was originally Laser Cosmetica located in Great Neck on Northern Boulevard. I had started the services for laser hair removal on my face, but only did three treatments/underarms and the staff kept calling me to reschedule and canceling my appointments. When you do not consistently do the treatments on the tri-weekly process , it is like starting the process all over again so basically I never even started my treatments. My face started to change color and when I called up to speak to one of the employees about what was happening the director at the time was very rude and nasty to me about my situation, so I felt extremely uncomfortable going back. Not to mention that the treatments I was going for were extremely personal to me and as a women with hair issues in a clinical setting, people should be treated w/compassion.I asked for my money back of $2000 dollars and they said I would have to come in so they could take pictures of my face. I did not want to even go there because I was so uncomfortable and not only was she rude but no one in the company would give me another person in authority that I could deal with. So with that being said, they agreed to give me back half which I tried to fight for all of my money because I never even technically started the treatments correctly due to them canceling all the time. I filled out a reimbursement slip(which I still have) last year. After being patient and mislead by every person in the company. I was told three weeks ago by the director that I would be getting my check in the mail. I called up and spoke with new management to find out that the company is no longer laser cosmetic and was turned over to True Body Medspa. True Body Medspa has all my files and I was told that my file said no reimbursements on it. I was completely mislead and have to walk around with discoloration on my face and it has been extremely emotional on myself. I just want my full refund of $2000.00 and never want to deal with this company .Desired Settlement: I would like my full refund of $2,000.00.
