We need for the consumer to verify his current valid mailing address so that we can mail out the requested informationOur records still indicate a California address

I have reviewed this consumer's complaint and I currently only see one account due from this individual This account displays a valid address, DOB and SSN and we would be happy to verify this information with the consumer if she calls our officeThis bill is correct and is unpaidOur telephone number is 760-444-5750.I have reviewed the other account numbers the consumer provided and there appeared to be a close name association with this consumer's name on these other accountsThis is why the credit bureaus reported these accounts against her credit recordWe have closed these accounts today and are notifying the credit bureaus to be sure to delete them from this consumer's credit record

No further response is necessary The matter is resolved

We have replied to multiple online inquiries of dispute from the credit bureaus asking us to verify the data on file We have replied, confirming the consumer's name, date of birth, Social Security number and debt as being accurate I show no record of any communication from the consumer, either via email or telephone requesting validation of the debt We first received the account in and mailed the standard validation notification to the consumer at that time We show no record of having received returned mail nor a request for validation of the debt during the initial thirty (30) day validation periodThe consumer should call our office at [redacted] and speak with an account representative to resolve this debt and update their credit report

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I spoke with someone from TSC last year after they placed my name on a bill, the rep advised the bill was actually not my bill nor in my name and asked if I had other family members in my home with the name they provided to me. She advised at that time that she was removing the debt. I heard nothing else until I recieved the alert on my credit report. I am requesting TSC send me a validation of debt as follows:Attn: TSC Be advised this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice that your claim is disputed and validation is requested. Under the Fair Debt collection Practices Act (FDCPA), I have the right to request validation of the debt you say I owe you. I am requesting proof that I am indeed the party you are asking to pay this debt, and there is some contractual obligation that is binding on me to pay this debt. This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) of the FDCPA. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you. At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have or continue to report invalidated information to any of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, Trans Union), this action might constitute fraud under both federal and state laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found or continues to report on any of my credit reports by your company or the company you represent, I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you and your client for the following: Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Defamation of Character. I am sure your legal staff will agree that non-compliance with this request could put your company in serious legal trouble with the FTC and other state or federal agencies. If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following declaration, I will require 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist. Also, during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing of any information to a credit-reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated. If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately. Regards, ***

As stated in our initial response to this complaint, we have replied to all credit bureau inquiries regarding this accountOur records do not show that we have received ANY communications from the consumer directly about this debt.
Also, our initial communication to the
consumer about this debt informed the consumer that they had thirty days to dispute the validating of the debt and request verification of the debt Again, we received no communication from the consumer nor any returned mailIf the consumer would like an itemized statement of this debt, they need to contact our office at ***, make that request of the account representative and provide us with a current valid mailing address, so we can send them an itemized statement of the account The address we have on file does not match the address provided to the Revdex.comWe need to mail the itemization as opposed to email due to patient confidentiality

I have requested validation of this debt from our client today Once received, we will forward these documents to the consumer If the consumer would like us to forward this info through the Revdex.com, please have her verify her mailing address, Social Security number and date of birth Otherwise we will mail this validation to the address we have on file

This consumer has an unpaid debt with a local *** *** *** ***Our company, a collection agency, communicated with the consumer several times in an effort to recover the unpaid bill. We have also previously provided the consumer with an itemized statement of the chargesThe consumer
has now moved out of state and we have since forwarded his account to a local collection agency in his state of residence to try and collect the debt from himAdditionally, there is no HIPAA violationHIPAA rules allow for a provider of medical services to disclose to a third party, certain protected health information when collecting a debt. We have handled this account in accordance with accepted collection practices and have complied with both State and Federal collection lawsThe consumer has a legitimate unpaid debt that we are reporting as such to the credit bureaus as in disputeWhen and if the consumer pays this debt the credit bureaus will be updated accordinglyThe consumer should contact the local collection agency handling his account at *** to discuss resolution

Complaint #:***
Dear ***:
I have reviewed this account and see that we obtained
verification from our client that this account was paid. Our client posted the consumer's payment in their system on September 6,
In response to Ms***’s complaint, she was not being
double billed for her son’s account.
When we received this account on September 1, 2015, the consumer’s
payment to our client had not yet been posted and her account was still past
due
When we receive a consumer call such as this, we send a payment
verification request to our client to see if the account is paid. In a great many cases, our client does not
show payment and if we can provide proof to them, i.e., the date of payment,
method of payment, copy of a cancelled check, etc., this can help us resolve the
dispute for the consumer The consumer
is under no obligation to provide us with this information, but in many cases
it can help us more quickly resolve the dispute for them
As for the credit reporting concerns, we do report unpaid
accounts to the credit bureaus and we are obligated to inform consumers of
thisIf there had been a delay in obtaining payment verification from our
client, or had this been a case of a missing or misapplied payment, then this
account could ultimately have been reported as an unpaid, disputed account,
against this consumer’s credit report
Payment in full has now been posted to this consumer’s
account and nothing was reported against her credit reportHer account is paid
in fullAs a footnote, it’s interesting to me that this consumer was willing
to take the time to file a complaint with the Revdex.com but wouldn’t take the time to
help us investigate and resolve her dispute

This account was assigned for collections on 3/1/13 and our initial notification to the consumer, mailed out in March 2013, informed the consumer that he had thirty (30) days to dispute the debt and request validation.  This was never done by the consumer.  THE FDCPA does not suggest that...

validation must be done a year and a half later if the consumer did not request validation during the initial thirty day period.
However, in an effort to help the consumer resolve this debt, I have requested validation of this debt from the original creditor today and will forward to him upon receipt.
Also, when the consumer disputes an account with the credit bureaus and we reply and/or mark his account as being in dispute, this is in compliance with both FDCPA and FCRA requirements.

The response from the business was insulting at the very end.  Had they simply been courteous to me to begin with and done what they were supposed to, accept my dispute and then verify payment with their client, I would not have been prompted to file a complaint.
[redacted], the man I spoke with on the phone was rude and threatening and demanded a copy of my cancelled check or he wouldn't bother checking on the account to see that it had been paid.  I am not in the habit of sending copies of sensitive documents, such as one of my personal checks with my checking account number to third parties who have no business seeing it if it does not apply to them, and in this instance, it does not.
You should have apologized for the rude tactics of your employee instead of further insulting me.
I am done.
