Unified Parking Partners Reviews (26)

The lot you parked in is a Pay & Display parking lot. There is a pay machine where you choose how long you are going to park, and display the printed receipt on your dashboard. You are expected to pay for all hours you intend to park. We have numerous signs that explain the policy of the...

lot and we make it very clear we will boot or tow any vehicles in violation of our parking policy. I reviewed our video record of the interaction between our Officer and the ten of you, at no time did our employee say anything about going to “[redacted] for twin lobsters” There were members of your group that said that as well as “why don’t you go to the store and get a 12 pack of [redacted] with our money”The Officer also gave you his name ([redacted]) and also explained it was written at the bottom of the receipt, but you kept calling him [redacted] in a demeaning tone. He also handed several members of your group a business card with his supervisors name on it as well as the phone number and address of our office. The members of the group continually taunted and cursed at him throughout the video.I’m sorry that you didn’t take the time to read the signs in the lot or pay for enough time to cover the time that you parked that resulted in your vehicles being booted. Our Officer acted professionally and followed policy and procedure. I have also included a picture of the pay machine with three policy signs clearly visible. It was clear from watching the video evidence and viewing the pictures I have included; this report is wildly inaccurate and riddled with false statements. We will not be refunding you any portion of the fee that was collected for violating the lot policy.

[redacted] called me at 10:14am on October 30th. I called back at 10:30am and at 11:30am and finally got him at 11:54am. Not sure where "not returning messages" came from.Regards,

Although it may have changed since that time, there were not "at least 15 signs present" in the parking lot describing a booting procedure. There was one sign that had to be pointed out by the booting attendant, as it was NOT readily visible. I was with a group of people who have lived in the Portland area for well over three decades and NONE of them knew of a private booting detail in the lot we were parked. As I remarked in my previous complaint, I had made a call for work at 6:30 pm when paying for what should have been 5 hours. When I came out at 11:30 pm (5 hours from the time I made the call/paid) the boot was in place and the ticket, which I stated I did not inspect upon receiving stated that I was paid until 10:56 pm.  This would seem to be a calibration/clocking error on the part of the business. To be completely honest, if I didn't have a 3 hour drive home ahead of me at a late hour, I would have called to local police to mediate because I know when I paid and that the ticket was inaccurate. My car was PHYSICALLY blocked in by the booting attendant AND illegally detained by the booting device on my vehicle. Had I called the police (and I would have knowing he had damaged my rim in application of the boot, requiring the scratches being buffed out). If it had been a credit card payment versus a debit card, I would have reported a stop payment. This practice essentially puts the consumer in a position where they have no choice but to pay a fee to retrieve their property WITH NO PROCESS OF APPEAL.  I tried to explain the ticket time discrepancy to the boot attendant, who said that was not his job.Private lots have the right to ticket for overtime parking and then the right to follow up with collections when fees are not paid in a timely way.  To OBSTRUCT AND DETAIN private property and demand a fee on site is unlawful and again, I am once again kindly requesting repayment of the $70.00 fee for removal of the unlawful booting device.

To Whom it may Concern,We would gladly refund your parking violation fee if, for some reason, there was an error on our part, whether it be human or mechanical.  Our goal is to make our policies as transparent as possible with a minimum of 15 signs per lot, and the majority of them on or near...

the payment meter, so that customers can see and understand what the parking policies are.  We have a 20 minute grace period, so that if someone does go over their purchased time limit we do not immobilize their car until after the ticket expires, by at least 20 minutes.  By your own admission you had gone over your allotted time by 34 minutes, thus triggering a boot to be placed on your car.  Now, as I mentioned above, if there was some sort of timing error we would gladly refund you your money, but I do not know of any issues like that and this is, in fact, the first complaint regarding a possible timing issue an any of our machines.  Please contact me at [email protected] so that I can help determine what the best coarse of action is.Thank you,Customer [email protected]
