Bill Feilen with United Construction and his crew do EXCEPTIONAL work. His prices are truly unbeatable. The quality of workmanship is outstanding. Our job was completed exactly on time and within budget. Bill has great ideas and functional design suggestions. I have referred him to all my friends. I never write reviews for anyone for anything.

United Construction has done several projects for me and my neighbors. Bill repaired my sagging roof, facia and eves. That was a huge task and Bill came up with some great methods and materials to get it done.
Then he installed a new Energy Star "Cool Roof". Later I had him reframe some sagging floors before we installed travertine. These items increased the beauty and value of my property at a very reasonable price.
I'm a retired general contractor and currently working as a California State certified construction inspector and consultant for public schools. To say I'm fussy about construction is an understatement. Bill is always the first call I make when I need something done at home or the ranch.
I trust Bill Feilen and know what to expect from him in quality, performance, price and value. 

I have used Bill Feilen and United Construction for several jobs, including a room addition and other construction projects. I have found Bill and his crew professional, reliable, and very much concerned about the quality of their work. They work with the home owner to make sure every objective of the job is met in a timely and professional manner, for a reasonable cost.

Bill and his team from United construction were timely in completing both projects. They were neat and clean. Any questions we had were answered and we were well educated on our options. Bill completed the first project on schedule, a large remodel and the second smaller project he started and completed ahead of the anticipate dates. He is easy to communicate with and always polite. His prices were more than reasonable for both projects. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Bill (owner of United Construction) remodeled the restroom in my dental practice and did a wonderful job. He utilized the limited space to the max, used quality materials and did everything in a timely matter. Will definitely use him again in future projects, I recommended him highly.

This review is long overdue. We met Bill Feilen from United Construction in March 2015 while he was building a home in Imperial Beach. We needed much renovation to the outside of our home which included wood framing, windows, new outside covering for our fireplace, stucco, and painting of our two story home. He provided a detailed description of the work to be done, which also included clean-up. Despite the delay in rain, the work was completed in a timely manner. Bill was very professional, easy to keep in contact with and kept us updated on the project. One year later, we are still very pleased with the renovation he and his company completed. Our home looks like a new home. We highly recommend Bill Feilen and United Construction.

Our neighbor had Bill Feilen do a re-model and we were so impressed with his work that we had him do extensive re-modeling to our house. Bill and his hard working crew did an amazing job, and we were more than pleased with the results. United Construction has done a couple of jobs at my home. United construction, Bill and his crew are friendly, professional and trustworthy. There was a Friday afternoon that was coming to an end and I had a pipe break in my yard,( nothing to do with the work they had been hired for). He and his crew stopped what they were doing and took care of it. This was not a quick fix, it took a couple of hours. I can't tell you how grateful I was because my homes water had to be turned off at the main. They had our home up and running again with no complaints.
Bill puts a lot of care, planning and thought into your job. He really wants you to be happy with his work.

My wife and I wanted to remodel our living room, kitchen and dining room. We also wanted to add-on a family room. The project was pretty extensive. We interviewed 8 high end builders and decided to go with Bill at United Construction. Our main focus was on Workmanship, Quality and Price. He exceeded our expectations in all 3 areas. Two of the most common words during the remodel process was " brilliant and beautiful ". We love coming home - thank you [redacted]

To preface, I am probably a customer that most contractors dread. I am an engineer who is detail oriented with a do it yourself attitude. That being said, I do most housework myself. In this case, I hired United Construction because I do not trust myself with major structural changes. United Construction removed a wall, rebuilt a wall adding new doors and windows and moved plumbing within my foundation.

All work was professional and well done. While many contractors do good work, below is a list of positives I find rare with contractors I have worked with.

1) open to suggestions and changes. During this project, plans changed and expanded multiple times. Bill (the owner) was very quick to pick up the changes and suggest additional changes. He was also very quick to give me updated quotes and pricing on the extended projects.

2) Bill ( the owner ) was on site a majority of the time, working and supervising the project directly.

3) They used high quality materials on the project, often going above and beyond normal construction permit rules.

4) They kept the area clean and protected the surrounding areas. Multiple plastic tarps were used to keep dust down. They also put plywood down over my flooring while moving materials in and out of my yard.

5) Great communication on a day to day basis.

United Construction did not meet the basics of the contract he drew up such as; used inferior materials after he was paid for quality material. He would not show up for work for days and days even two weeks at once. Would not respond to calls, double charged me for work such as, double charged me for patio, for foundation. I paid him for a completed deck I got none. He cussed at me, he yelled at me, he would throw his telephone, he would turn up his radio so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I am a senior citizen and a widow, Christian woman and THIS was how I go treated.

United Construction did an excellent job on our remodel and room addition project here in La Mesa.
His "hands on" attention to the details really helped to achieve a quality job.
United Construction helped plan our room addition and layout and offered great ideas such as the vaulted ceiling and the electrical layouts which proved to be very convenient now using our house.
Bill himself was on the job regularly and his crew was courteous and trustworthy. The project was timely, the only delays were on our part as the homeowner trying to make decisions on changes, once we say some of the work. Bill actually drew up sketches, and built a small model and sizing of doors and windows to help us decide on some changes.
Bill also had sub contractors such as the plumber and stucco person who we have hired separately since then for other work because of thier quality work and good pricing.
We are now saving our money to have Bill start a new project for the kitchen remaodel and have no doubt that Bill will do the work. He is the only one we trust in theis crazy market. Be careful out there, because there are rip offs trying to fake being a contractor and some even have licenses that should because of thier shady business practices and poor quality wor,
In summary, Unbited Construction was HANDS ON and GOOD QUALITY

Bill provided excellent customer service. He and his crew were professional and maintained the highest level of customer service. The job was to replace a rickety, old, termite eaten stairway that was the only entrance to my attic apartment. My house is over 100 years old and of the classic "craftsman" style. The final product is not only beautiful, but a safe and secure stairway to a beautiful deck. This has given so much pleasure to me and my family. The addition has been literally life changing. His crew is also very competent, polite, punctual and hard working. I would recommend him and would love to be able to use him again in the future. Everyone that sees my new deck and stairs is blown away. It is so nice...the work is impeccable. Thank you, Bill. You did a great job and I am so happy with the work that you did!!

United Construction, did an excellent job on adding a 2nd Story Addition to our house. Bill is very knowledgeable in construction and he knew exactly what he was doing all the time. He had an excellent crew working for him. If there was ever any delay it was because of the weather condition. To my knowledge he used exactly the best material for building what was agreed to on the contract. Since he does the work himself he gives reasonable prices. I truly recommend him to anybody.

We have used United Construction for a few different jobs. Bill Feilen is very good at what he does. We had a Remodel to our home to convert and add an Income Property 1BR unit. We also had a few smaller jobs to our own home. His knowledge and expertise was very helpful in making design decisions. His workmanship was very clean and we were pleased and satisfied with all the work he did for us.

I would use United Cobstruction again and highly recommend him to my friends.
