If you are looking for quality workmanship, people who keep their word, are easy to deal with, and stand by behind their work - don't use these people for your new Air Conditioning unit!
Spend $if you want to be yelled at (by the head of the company - *** ***!); lied to by his managers, ("of course I'll email that"); be without the new AC in august for hours, wait on the phone for a minimum of minutes each time you call; wait for days for warranty service; or told it's a weekend, you have to pay $149; have appointments canceled with no notice or phone call; told it's not under warranty, and more I'm sure they'd be happy to do the same to you

I made an appointment for them to come give me an estimateI made my appointment two weeks before they were scheduled to come out and received a less than ideal window of 8am-12pmI called on the day of the appointment at 9:10am and asked if they had a more specific idea of when they might arrive, they acknowledged my appointment and said close to 10amThey never showed up, never called, absolutely nothing from them at allThey had a four hour window and didn't even call to postpone or cancelJust a total lack of respect for other people's timeI even made the appointment with someone who claimed to be the general managerIf you value your time then I recommend you avoid this company because they will not value your timeThe general manager in my area even said their HQ was right around the corner from my service address so they'd probably be there first thing, right at the start of the service window they gave meInstead they did not come out at allSad!

I recently scheduled for an air duct and dryer vent cleaning I was scheduled for service between 10am and noon I called several times and kept getting different stories as to when the service man would be at my home Finally at 1:45pm I was told by the dispatcher that the service man was still at the other location and would shortly be arriving at my home but no definite time was given At that point in time I cancelled the service and scheduled one with a different company

Multiple issues with the company and the instillation To start, at install, the drain line was never cleared out This was realized after the fact We noticed water working it's way into a bedroom adjacent to the garage air handler about days after install Contacted the company and they were pressing us to use a water damage restoration company to take care of the damage The initial suggestion was that the drain pipe must have a crack in it, causing the excess water I had a second company come out to inspect, and he pointed me in a different direction He mentioned the water was due to the line not being cleared and also noticed that the safety-switch had been wired incorrectly If wired correctly, the unit would have shut off, prior to water working it's way into my home
Thought we had solved the problem until our TECO billed arrived the following month Our electrical usage had doubled from the previous year, about $over the norm Called TECO and they mentioned that the heat and air could be running at the same time Had Universal send out their field supervisor to take a look...and he was clueless I personally asked him to check the heat strip and he still did not solve the problem After minutes and not having a clue what was wrong, I asked him to leave He mentioned that the company would be reaching out to me, to send someone back out That never happened! Again, I had to pay to have another company come out and look it over Within minutes the second company rewired the unit, turning off the heat strip
TECO came out recently and took a look at everything, and still mentioned that the unit is not wired correctly Big mistake choosing this company Their installers and field supervisors are very incompetent I based my buying decision off of price and their Revdex.com rating (what a joke) I'm already in $in additional expenses since their install

I purchased a brand new Trane AC unit from Universal in 2013, and have had more issues with it in the past years than I ever did with my old outdated unitI purchased a maintenance plan with Universal to keep the new unit in-check, with services scheduled twice a year, but have had to call them out for issues at least once every monthsEach time of course they have found something different to charge me for
This past December, the blower motor in my year old unit burned outGetting the replacement part installed was expensive and frustrating and there was a serious lack of communication from the companyNow, MONTHS after having the new part installed, the unit is not working AGAINI called to have someone come out and look at it and was told there would be a charge, just for them to come figure out what happenedThey do not stand behind their work and have nickle and dimed me every single chance they have gotten
The maintenance plan is a rip-off and does not actually keep the unit running (which, silly me, is what I assumed I was paying for)Their own technicians have commented TO ME on what a terrible job their installers did when they originally installed the unitI had to find another company because I just couldn't afford to continue to work with Universal Air and Heat

[redacted] excellent customer service. I will highly recommend to call this company special this guy, he know how to treat customer.
