complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: universal credit services promised me they would take care of this issue.. My credit report was pull for the purpose of filing a chapter bankruptcy. I was told universal credit service doesn't pull credit reports for the purposes of bankruptcy. I have credit monitoring through *** and I received an alert on 09/12/2015 I know have another hard inquiry on each credit report from 01/07/2015. As you can see this appears to be a mistake because it matches the date of the first pull done on 01/07/2014. This needs to be corrected by universal credit service.. *** refuses to correct it because it has to be from the company who pulled the report.

I was initially contacted by an associate of this company, who was very disrespectful. I have some ambulance bills and I turned these bills over to my insurance companies. The reason that I needed these ambulances was for something that I was totally covered for. This associate from this UCS said that "they want their money" (referring to the ambulance company) using a tone that implies that I have the money and am refusing to pay my bills. What happened is that after so much haggling between the insurance companies over who's really liable for the ambulances, too much time had passed and now I am left holding the bag and am liable for these charges. I live on Social Security and am trying to re-establish my credit. I want to pay these charges. I wish to talk to someone who is willing to work out a payment arrangement with me.

Dear Revdex.com and [redacted],[redacted] authorized his credit report to be pulled when dealing with [redacted] on April 8, 2016. [redacted] is an authorized company to pull credit reports. This is the inquiry that is showing or his credit file, [redacted] will have to contact them to see how...

and if they can remove the inquiry. Also, regarding the Public Record, Universal Credit has no access or rights to putting that item or removing that item on any credit report. This is not something we are able to do. I am not even sure on who to suggest but he may want to call the public record company directly. Both these items are not related to Universal Credit Services.Thank you,The Credit Department

December 15, 2017Dear [redacted],I'm responding to your recent letter dated December 15, 2017 to update you on the status of the matter and resolution.I sent [redacted] an email today (copy enclosed) today and explained that Universal Credit Services is a consumer reporting agency...

authorized to resell credit reports for [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] via our designated subscriber codes with each of the credit bureaus. I further explained that [redacted] was the lender that requested his consumer report supplied through our reseller subscriber codes. The inquiry showing on the credit report he referenced as Universal Credit Services is not complete and that further details will identify the end user. The complaint alleges that Universal Credit Services did not have authority to pull his report. We did not pull his report and are not in violation of the FCRA. [redacted] was the party that is required to have a permissible purpose to obtain the consumer's credit report under the FCRA statute.I trust that this correspondence meets with your expectations and should you have any further questions regarding this matter, feel tree to contact me.Sincerely,Robert D

Mar 24, 2017To Whom it May Concern,This letter is in response to the letter Universal Credit Services received on the subject of the complaint that was Submitted on 3/16/2017 with an ID of [redacted] (Copy of original letter attached).Universal Credit Services is a consumer reporting agency that acts...

as an intermediary between companies that have a legitimate need to access consumer credit reports, and other personal information. Universal Credit Services provides the software and support to compile information from the credit bureaus and other third party providers to provide our clients with a full credit and informational profile of the consumer the information is associated with.Credit Inquiries are tracked by the credit bureaus through the use of numerical coding that tells the bureaus the nature of the permissible purpose the inquiry was accessed for. This coding is issued by the credit bureaus and will often return our name, Universal Credit Services, due to how the coding is set-up by the credit bureaus or due to the character limit of the program showing the inquirer, Universal Credit Services does not access any consumer's information unless is associated with an account set-up with our company. We have investigated the matter regarding the inquiries associated with the Consumer involved with this complaint with the following results that confirm proper procedures were followed to comply with the FCRA regulations on consumer credit reporting:Inquiry #1:Our client, "Company A", provided Universal Credit Services a Mortgage 1003 and Consumer Authorization that were signed and dated by the consumer involved.Company A verified that they did also speak to the consumer involved, on Mar 23, 2017, to confirm the consumer's knowledge of the credit inquiry.Company A Confirmed consumers loan is still in process and this was a miscommunication due to the consumer not realizing Universal Credit Services worked with them (Company A).Inquiry #2: Our client, "Company B", provided Universal Credit Services with screen shots of an online application along with the signature of the consumer involved giving express consent to pull said consumers credit history information.Due to the above results, showing full compliance with FCRA regulations Concerning the access of consumer's credit information, Universal Credit Services is asking that this complaint be removed.Universal Credit Services has verified that proper authorization was provided, by the consumer and, to our clients associated with the accessing of the consumers information through our system, proving that the credit inquiries associated with this complaint were accessed by proper methods as outlined by the FCRA.Universal Credit Services has reached out to the consumer involved with a summary of rights of identity theft victims and our contact information for any further correspondence. Also, please see email from original complainant acknowledging understanding of why there were multiple hard inquiries,Regards,John P.Compliance Officer

Dear [redacted],received your complaint ID [redacted].Universal Credit is reseller of the three major credit bureaus. ([redacted])[redacted] is a business that is in good standing with Universal Credit and the Credit bureaus. When doing research on...

[redacted], his credit report was pulled when he went to refinance his condominium. We contacted [redacted] and attached the paperwork on the reason for an inquiry for [redacted]. I am not stating if the applicant was approved or denied but usually when a decision is not favorable, the applicant requests the inquiry to be removed because they feel it affects their credit score for future inquires for credit. To my understanding the inquiries are legitimate.Looking at [redacted]'s request, I believe I know what he is asking, but our company Wouldn't have the power to remove inquires. You may want to suggest to him to contact [redacted] and [redacted] directly.I am saddened that [redacted] would register a complaint against Universal Credit because we had no power in making a credit decision; we only provide the data to the third party, if [redacted] has an issue with UCS, please have him contact us directly - our legal team has experience in handling these false complaints against UCS.Hope this helps,Jerry H.Universal Credit
