A representative from US Patio Systems and Home Remodeling came to our home to provide a free estimate on a bathroom remodel To start, the representative wanted us to sit down and listen to his sales pitch He opened a book that had estimated costs for bathroom remodeling at $18, He did not even look at our bathroom at that point The representative then told us that US Patio was screened by *** *** and they have a contract for services and acquisition of all fixtures for the bathroom He then proceeded to ask my husband and I to commit to the remodel service before looking at our bathroom When he finally went to see the bathroom, he took a sheet of graph paper and drew out the dimensions then proceeded to show us fixtures (shower, toilet, vanity and sink) The bathroom is very small feet by feet so there is not a lot of work When we got done picking out the fixtures, the representative from US Patio to us his estimate for the job was $18,but he would give us a $4,discount if we agreed to use his company My husband and I knew we were being scammed We already have other estimates and they are much lower at around $6,for the fixtures and labor When we asked the representative about the cost if we purchase our fixtures rather than use his company as the broker he said that would violate the contract with *** *** We have priced the shower, toilet, vanity and sink at both *** and *** and the total cost is under $2, There is clearly a lack of transparency with the estimate by US.Patio We suspect that *** *** takes a cut of the money for a finders fee for the business it gives to US Patio I suspect the prices are very inflated to the point of fraud I would not recommend this service to anyone We are also notifying *** *** Also, the representative from US Patio would not give us a copy of the estimate so my husband took a picture of it with his cell phone
