Thank you for your time in sending the below customer experience information to our attention In response to the complaint from Mr [redacted] , we have submitted a form to the IRS for an abatement of the penalties To date we have not received any response or update from the IRS on the removal of the penalties for Mr [redacted] We are hopeful to have the status very soon Please let me know if you need anything further or additional information

I have received a letter from the IRS asking for a signature to complete the paperwork filed to receive the penalties to be paid by EG TaxIt has not as of yet been taken care of by either the IRS is EG Tax

This problem has been ongoing since about March I believe I did receive a notice from the IRS a few months back stating their refusal on this action that EG Tax is waiting from themI sent this letter to EG Tax when I received itAs I stated I receive a bill from the IRS monthlySo why is EG Tax having to wait so long for the information they need to take care of this problemLast February I met with Maria from EG Tax and she stated at that time her employers were at fault and EG Tax did indeed accept thisAll I had to do was show proof of what the IRS was charging me for penalties and fees and EG Tax would pay thisI have filled out and sent to EG Tax everything I have ever received from the IRS about these penalties and still am waiting for them to make good on this issueMy next step will to take this matter to our local television stations which advertise EG Tax

I would like to respond to the statements made by maria from EG tax I would like to start with the appointment made 2/was to discuss the letter from the IRS about the error created in tax preparation, do to I could not get a return call after messages left so I made an appointment Tried for appointment with Esther but was bookedSo I requested next in line which I guess was Maria R This states that we were missing some information that was left off of return due to their own issue?? I don't what she is referring to, it is an absolute lieI brought a folder of tax info I receive from banks, schools, W2's etcHanded to preparer like every year they do them sign here doneNever did anyone say paper work was missingShe also stated no charge for the AMENDMENT they completed, " It would be rude to charge you after our mistake" Their policy states a guarentee of 110% if another firm finds the error and fixes mistakeWell the IRS found the error not EG tax, as they think, and I had no idea another firm could do the amendement My husband nor I know tax laws, credits etcthat is why you hire and pay for a professional We have had our taxes completed at EG tax at least years...my daughter has always been our dependent and in school, don't we look at previous year, ask questions?? I then in Mrch receive another letter from the IRS because the amendentment was mailed to the WRONG address! Again I call leave several messages for days, no return callSO I make another appointment with Maria, (yes pretending for tax prep) She did apologize but I requested the letter for assurance that the fees/penalties would be paid When I received the bill from the IRS I stopped talked to Maria, told me to stop back 4/and pick up the check, when I arrive a man was very rude to me because he couldn't find and didn't know about a checkA very Nice woman named Tiffany came out took me in another office said that the man (don't know his name) tends to "fly off the handle" she apologized and found out the check was mailedDid say come back if I do't receive As I was leaving in my car Tiffany F came out and flagged me down that Esther wnated to see meI went in and she pointed at her computer screen and said "there it is the checks in the mail" I can not beleive a business woman that is on TV promoting a business and "come join our family " slogan was that rude and unprofessional NEVER stood up, introduced herself, shook hands she was out right mean, This all could have been avoided with some customer service and professionalismMistakes happen but they are the most unorganized, and do not admit their wrongAnd by the way Tiffany Fis the one that said Steve mad alot of mistakes on customers returns NOT MY WORDS MARIA! Customer complaint ID *** *** *** *** *** had a scheduled appointment on 2/27/for their taxesOnce they got into my office they said "Before we start with this year, we got a letter about our taxes last year." So instead of preparing the current year taxes, I review
the letter from the IRS and yes indeed our preparer had given them a credit for the education credit, there are two different credits and he gave them the incorrect oneThey also had some information that was left off the return due to their own issue of not having the information to give the preparerNot once did state that the preparer made numerous mistakes on other people's returns: that is her own wordsI did apologize plenty of times while they were both sitting with me that I am sorry that this mistake happened and thateven though they might not feel comfortable having us prepare this current years taxes now, I would have done them for free because I would feel bad for charging them after a mistake was madeThey both agreed that they would need to think about it and after I gave them the amended return, showing them what the mistake that the other preparer made and the outcome of the missing information from them not having all their paperwork was, they both left.*** *** had called again in March to tell me that they received another letter from the IRS about the amended returnBecause I did not return her call in a timely fashion, she had made another appointment for me to correct the issueAt that time, she had gotten a new amended return to fix what the IRS was missingI also wrote her a statement that when she received the bill for interest that we would reimburse them for that*** *** brought me the notice this past week and I had told her that I would have it here for her to pick up after she got out of work, but because I was not here to get the check out of the mailbox in time, the check was mailed to her and she stopped in to get the check and it was too lateYes when she got here it the other employees were a little confused on what was going on and after they asked me I told them that we were writing her a check to reimburse her, they went to ask Esther if the check was written and Esther did look into her bills and stated the check was written and mailed.Our statement of guarantee states that we will refund your prep fees 110% if another firm finds and fixes the mistakeI do know that she gave us the chance to correct the mistake, and we didWe also offered to do this year for free and another gift certificate was sent outI can only put in a request for the prep fees to be reimbursed but I cannot process that request without approval from Esther.Maria R.District ManagerEG Tax

If Mr*** has the letter from the IRS that denied our request, I will need it see it so that we can close the case and pay the penalty and interest for Mr***Otherwise, we are still waiting for the IRS to accept the plea

Due to a mistake that a preparer makes, we will refund the interest and penalties that mayoccur; we cannot pay the liability on that billWhen Ms *** called to talk to Estherbecause of this issue, Esther explained to her the situation and that we would reimbursethe interest a11d penalty, but Ms

I have received the the interest after having to call multiple times, I know I probably won't get back the mistakes made on their part, but for this company they are awful, if I could save one person from the abuse I had to put up with from ester ***alas it's a good thing

I have been unable to find the letter from the IRS. I am sure I mailed it to EG Tax when I received it.

I have not heard from either the IRS or EG Tax regarding this matter. I am continuing to make monthly payments to the IRS as required but have yet to receive the penalty fee monies from EG Tax.

As I have stated before, I believe I received a letter from the IRS stating they were not accepting whatever EG Tax has requested in regards to the penalties and fees. I believe I forwarded via US  mail this letter from the IRS to EG Tax as soon as I received it quite a few months ago.

I am responding to let you know that [redacted] our District Manager is handling this situation.  She is CC on this email.  Any future correspondence on this matter should be directed to her at [redacted].  She informed me that we are still waiting on the IRS for a determination of an abatement of the penalty in this matter before we can resolve ourselves.
