I received Ms. [redacted]’s complaint.  Her account was placed in our office on 12/29/2015 by our client [redacted] College. Ms. [redacted] enrolled in the Healthcare Administration course with my client online 04/09/2013.  This account has not been sold to our office....

According to her student records she agreed to make monthly payments towards her tuition. Her last tuition payment was 08/09/2013 & they have not had any contact from Ms. [redacted] since 06/20/2013. [redacted] College has advised me this account has not been resolved with them.
We spoke to Ms. [redacted] on 06/16/2016 at that time she advised us to stop calling her.  All calls were stopped.  Our calls are monitored & recorded.  At no time did any of our representatives yell or curse at Ms. [redacted].
As a courtesy I have requested that [redacted] & [redacted] delete this entry from her credit history.  That request was processed today.  However I would suggest she contact the school directly in order to resolve her tuition debt.
Sincerely,
Elena S[redacted], Manager
File [redacted]

I have reviewed [redacted]'s records.  On April 8, 2014 [redacted] called our office.  She agreed to pay a settlement to close her account with our client.  Once that settlement was paid we closed our file, notified our client & updated her credit history...

to a settled in full for a lesser value status.
Based on credit reporting guidelines that is the proper way to update someones credit history if they pay less than the full value of the debt. That entry would normally remain on your credit history for 7 years.
As a courtesy to [redacted] I have requested all four credit bureaus to remove this entry from her credit history.  Please give the bureaus at least 30 days to update their records.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Elena S[redacted], Manager

I have removed phone # ###-###-#### from our database.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

I received [redacted] complaint concerning her credit
report.
I have enclosed a copy of her online enrollment agreement
with our client, [redacted].  The school placed a total tuition amount of $
1,657.35 in our office for collection.  That
is what we placed on her credit report as past due & according to her
student records at the school that is the correct amount.
The initial price of [redacted] tuition was $1,683.00.  When she enrolled, she agreed to make a down
payment of $39.00 & monthly payments of $100.00 for 16 months & a final
payment of $44.00.  She has made only 2
payments towards her tuition since she enrolled last September. Under the guidelines of her enrollment I have
listed the schools policy for payment:
Payment Plan
“Unless you (the
student) select the Full Payment Plan Option, the first monthly payment will
become due approximately twenty-eight (28) days after the Enrollment Form has
been processed.  In the event a monthly
payment is ten days late, a $15 late fee will become due.  If the default is not covered within forty
(40) days of the institutions notice, we reserve the right to call the total
program price due immediately plus any related collection or attorney fees.  Should you decide to cancel, the amount due is
based on the cancellation policy.”
The refund policy she has mentioned in her complaint does
not apply to this situation because she did not cancel her semester.  The school held her account for 6 months
without payment.  On June 18, 2015 the
school placed her account in our office for her tuition balance of $ 1,657.35.
If [redacted] would like to cancel this semester & only
pay for the portion of exams she completed she can still do that.  Based on her enrollment her cancellation fee
is $ 650.10.  She has completed 12.50% of
the semester.  Otherwise she can
certainly continue her studies once her tuition is paid.
Sincerely,
Elena S[redacted]
Manager

I received Ms. [redacted]'s complaint today.  I am unable to locate any account in my database by her name, address or telephone number.   In order to resolve this I would need to ask some very specific questions pertaining to what is listed on her credit report. ...

I would appreciate it if Ms. [redacted] can call me directly @ ###-###-#### in order for me to first locate the account information & then determine if it is an account that belongs to her. I am normally in the office Monday - Friday 9 AM to 5 PM EST.  Sincerely,Elena S[redacted]Manager

completed 31% of the semester.  The balance due for that semester is $ 1,361.30.
As a courtesy I will have any entries on his credit history from USCB Corporation removed.

This account was placed in our

Review: I have contacted this company again and again regarding this account. I repeatedly asked them to send me proof that this account even exists. I get nothing. I was away at [redacted] university at the time that this at home college account was supposedly opened. I have proof. I have never attended this at home school. This account does not belong to me. I want this removed from my credit report immediately.Desired Settlement: I want this taken off of my credit report immediately.

I received [redacted]'s complaint concerning the 2 accounts that have been placed in our office for collection. I have reviewed both of these records & this is the first time we have had any contact from [redacted].

As per her request, I have attached copies of her signed enrollment agreements from the original creditor, US Career Institute. According to the records at the school, [redacted] enrolled in the Legal Transcription course & also the Medical Coding Course.

All of the information listed on these contracts matches the infomation provided to us on this complaint. If [redacted] would like to resolve these accounts, she can contact me directly at my office. I would be more than happy to help her.

I am rejecting this response because:I hate to burst Elana S[redacted]'s bubble but that is not my Signature and I can prove it and I was away at college in Iowa at [redacted] University for 4 years during the time I was supposedly doing this schooling also. I dont think so. I have a Bachelors degree in law. I do not need to take a at home schooling course that is not even recognized by employers and I can prove that. I did not sign up for this schooling and I am not paying for something I did not sign up for and it is not going to be on my credit report either. Obviously someone signed my name on a bogus application. I want these taken off now. I am contacting my attorney and I will let him handle this. I am not getting stuck with this.

I never received any information from this company. I received many phone calls from this company. Many times I explained to them that I never signed up for this. Then I heard nothing more from them. I thought it was taken care of until I seen the negative information on my credit report. Someone apparently got a hold of my information and did this. My credit should not be ruined over this. That is not my signature. I am going to print out these forms they provided and I am taking them to my local police department and file fraud charges. I am also going to my attorney and I am going to file charges against this company. I want these taken off my report immediately. I will go to the media if I have to. This collection agency has many complaints against them. I will not be their next victim.

Review: Back in 2010 I was enrolled with USCI but cancelled the contract with them after loosing work. I contacted USCI, explained the situation to them and cancelled my services with them. They alleged that I still owed a sum of money for the books which were already sent but those were already paid for. The account was turned over to USCB and I informed them of the same. I do not owe this debt and it has been "in collection" for the past few years. I asked USCB to stop all contact with me, both written and verbal, I still receive calls and mail from them.

Today I noticed a -47 point drop in my credit score because of USCB claiming that this is a new debt and that collections have just started. I have already given USCB notice that this debt is not valid but they continue to ignore this fact and now they are trying to hurt me financially by saying this alleged debt has just gone into collections when it has been in collections for several years now.Desired Settlement: It hardly seems fair that a corporation can hurt my good credit rating and the only recourse for me is a complaint here with the Revdex.com... I am willing to offer payment for this "alleged" debt (even though I feel I do not owe it) if I can receive, in writing, a guaranteed promise to remove this from my credit report and return the credit score to its original number before this outrageous record was placed on my history?

I received your complaint today for [redacted]. I have reviewed his records and would like to address his complaint. His account was placed in our office on 05/11/2011 for the balance of his cancellation fee with our client, [redacted]. We tried contacting him multiple times by phone & by mail. We never spoke to [redacted] the entire time this account was in my office, nor did we receive any written request to cease contact with him.

In March 2014 [redacted] sold this account to our office. We have again made numerous attempts to contact [redacted] but again have never spoken to him nor have we received any written notification for validation or to cease contact with him.

I would be more than happy to help [redacted] resolve this debt. Once [redacted] pays his outstanding balance I will request that the credit bureaus remove this entry from his credit history.

Also since I have never received a dispute from [redacted], I have attached a copy of his original enrollment contract for his review.

I had a couple of old bills which I had forgotten about and had contact USCB by email to get information of what is due. A very nice lady emailed me back with all the information on the bills and total amounts due. I received information that I could pay back an amount every month, whatever amount was comfortable for me. I have been religiously paying back amounts each month that works for me and am very close now to paying these off. USCB has been very helpful and cooperative in any questions I have had.

If [redacted] is no longer interested in this program, she does still have the option to cancel this program and only pay a cancellation fee, not the entire balance. The cancellation fee is $ 496.44. Review: USCB contacted me on 11/12/13 about collecting a debt from [redacted] College for classes I took years ago. I explained to them that I did not receive any information from [redacted]. They gave me the address where billing was going to and that was not a valid USPS address for 3 years. So they had to receive the mail back. They said they would look into it and at first they told me I was being billed for classes I never took. Later they told me it was for class I took in the summer session. So I explained to them that I did have financial aid and that [redacted]’s Financial aid office told me I had more money then I needed and I could use the extra loan money to pay off my books. Now they are saying I never received financial aid. I explained to USCB and [redacted] college many times that I did have financial aid and that [redacted] made a mistake. I have called and emailed USCB many times and it takes them weeks or months to get back to me. Please see last 2 emails sent to USCB below. I asked that this not go on my credit report because the account is still in dispute and they placed this on my credit report. I asked them a week ago to take it off and it is still on there and no one has emailed me back or called me. I also explained to them that [redacted] would not let any student go a whole semester without paying a dime or setting up a payment plan if they didn’t have financial aid. Which I did have so that is why I didn’t get pulled out of class or asked to set up a payment plan. ( I cannot add the screen shot of [redacted]s policy that was taken directly from [redacted]s Website for some reason)

I checked my credit score again and this issue is still on it. Again I expect this to be taken off of my credit report now. I am also waiting for [redacted]s response and your response to the email I sent on March 5th and again on March 24th. I am under Doctors care for excessive Migraines and possible **. I was told to reduce the stress in my life and this is not helping. USCB will not email or call me and [redacted] will not call me back either. Do I need to contact the president of USCB to get this taken care of? Do I need to contact the Revdex.com to get this resolved? I am the only one suffering from USCB and [redacted] not answering me. My credit is being ruined because USCB and [redacted] will not respond back to me and because you put it on my credit report while it was still in dispute. This is getting old and I expect someone to take care of this now and taken off my credit report now as well.

I just check my credit score and I see that you placed this account on my credit report. Since this is still in dispute and I am the only person that is returning emails on a timely manner I except this to be removed from my credit report immediately. I also need a response to my email that I sent on 3/5/14 to you with [redacted] Payment policy on showing that [redacted] made a mistake. I have had enough of this and I will not continue to email without any response back. I also have had enough of [redacted] not calling me back. This needs to be resolved and the last email I sent with [redacted]s Payment policy needs a response. I expect this to be removed from my credit report today.

Thank you

[redacted],

I can tell you why I have not received them Just like I told [redacted] and [redacted] from USCB when this all started they were sending things to an address that is not a valid USPS address anymore. They had to receive everything they sent me back. They told me they didn’t but since that address doesn’t exist then they had to. I would like to show you what is on the [redacted] College’s website about Financial Requirements for registration, If you read their rules below you will see that they would have pulled me out of class to schedule a payment plan if I didn’t have financial aid nor would they have let me register for classes not once but twice. I was enrolled in a second semester at [redacted] which I ended up withdrawing from. See why I say this is their mistake?

Dear [redacted]:

I contacted [redacted] for you and expressed your concerns. The school still feels this is not due to an error on their end. It is a Federal requirement for you to accept/sign for your financial aid. Because that paperwork was not fully completed they could not disburse aid to your account. According to the schools records, several letters and invoices had been sent to you advising you of the outstanding balance. The last letter they sent you was 5/29/2013. I cannot explain why you did not receive them.

We can continue to go back and forth on this issue, or we can try to work out a resolution that makes you happy as well as the school.

You enrolled in the Summer Semester & registered for 3 courses. You completed 2 out of 3, with the 3rd course being dropped beyond the date for a refund. The total amount due for this semester is $3,850.00. Regardless, you still owe this tuition. It is a matter of whether you owe the school or you owe the government. Because your aid was not processed you owe the school.

In an effort to resolve this account I am going to offer you a very generous discount. I am offering you a 50% discount on the amount that you owe. If you pay the discounted amount of $1,925.00 by April 5, 2014 you will have no further obligation to [redacted] College. We will notify the college that your account has been settled in full & we will remove all entries from your credit report.

I want to work with you & I hope that this will be something that works for you. Please let me know.

Sincerely,

Manager

Hi [redacted],

Thank you for responding, I read and understand what you are saying but why should I be paying for a mistake that [redacted] made. I was told by 2 people at [redacted] that I was fully covered. I had a meeting with the financial aid department and they didn’t ask me to sign anything. I know they get busy and I understand that they were rushing to get through everyone that had questions for them and I understand that mistakes can be made but why do I have to pay for their mistake. How do I go a WHOLE semester without having a loan and without paying them any money, or setting up a payment plan with anyone at all without someone questioning me? Someone should have said something to me while I was a student not 3 years later. Which keep in mind the first time I heard about this issue was when it got a call from USCB. For 3 years I did not hear anything from [redacted]. None of this sounds correct to me. I will not pay for [redacted]s mistake. If they want to add it to my student loan like they were supposed to originally that is fine. This all should have been fixed or questioned while I was a student not 3 years later. They didn’t take the time to fix this while I was a student or even ask me for money when I was enrolled. Why am I just hearing about this 3 years later? I received my grades, I completed my classes without any questioning from anyone at [redacted]. If I owed them money why didn’t anyone say anything to me while I was enrolled, why did I get my grades why did they let me participate in classes if I didn’t have financial aid or when I didn’t have a payment plan set up with them? That doesn’t sound right to me. If I owed them back then and they knew about it they would have been asking me for money and they would not have let me participate in any classes without setting up a payment plan with them and giving them some amount of money to start.

Dear [redacted]:

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. Thank you for sending me copies of your loan documents. I did forward those copies to [redacted] College and have received a response from them. According to their records their Financial Aid Office does have record of your filing for financial aid, however they have advised me that you never singed the financial aid award letter, which is how you accept the financial aid. Even though you did complete the FAFSA for** & were awarded loans/financial aid does not mean the school can automatically put the loan/aid onto your account. Because the award letter was not signed the financial aid could not be processed. This is why you owe [redacted] College directly rather than owing a loan to the Department of Education for these charges.

Manager

Renee,

Here is the documentation showing that I did apply for financial aid. I also wanted to make sure that everyone understands that when I went to orientation for the weekender program, a lady in the financial aid office told me that I had enough financial aid for that year and that I had extra money left over if I wanted to us it to purchase my books. The lady in the book store also told me the same thing. But I didn’t not use the extra money to buy my books.

I also know [redacted] policy for payments and if you were not covered by financial aid they would work with you on a payment plan. If you didn’t pay them anything or set up a plan they sent a note to your professors and they would not let you into their class until you have been cleared with the registry department. No one ever told me that I had to talk to the registry department before I could continue participating in their class. I’m not sure what went wrong on [redacted]s end but I need this taken care of and taken off of my credit report because it is not a mistake on my part it is a mistake on [redacted]s part. I also except that since this issue is in dispute and [redacted] will not call be back and I haven’t heard from any one at USCB since I called on 11/25/13 and spoke to you that this will not be placed on my credit report because I am trying to solve this but I am not receiving any phone calls back from anyone. I know you said that you didn’t get a message from me but I did leave you a message on 12/2/13 and 1/15/14 I left a message (with a [redacted] in her office) for [redacted]- the director of student Business services and did not receive a call back from anyone.

Please let me know what the next step is and that this is not on my credit report or if it is that it will be removed.

Thank you,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like this taken off of my credit report. I would also like this money added to my student loan like it should have been from the start and like [redacted] told me it would be.

Response:

I received your complaint for **. [redacted]. As per **. [redacted]'s request I have requested that [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] delete this entry from her credit history. That request was processed in my office today. The confirmation number is #[redacted]. Please give the credit bureaus at least 30 days to process my request.

I cannot however add and/or transfer any funds to **. [redacted]s account. I would suggest **. [redacted] contact the college directly to make arrangements on her tuition account.

Sincerely,

[redacted], Manager

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have tried to contact [redacted] and they either do not call me back or they tell me I need to talk to USCB and they can no longer help me. I have to go through USCB. I do appreciate that they started the process in removing this from my credit report. However it is still on there. I understand I might have to wait a little while before it is removed. I will let you know when it is removed or still isn't removed after a few days.

Regards,

Response:

Dear [redacted]:

Sorry for the blank response on complaint # [redacted] - [redacted].

Here is my correct response:

I received **. [redacted]'s rejection notice for my response to her

complaint. I would like to address her concerns:

As I stated in my previous response, we have closed her file, stopped

all collection activity and returned her file to [redacted] College. The

school has suggested she contact [redacted] in the Student Business

Services Department @ [redacted], she will be more than happy to help

her.

I requested all four credit bureaus remove this entry from her credit

history on 4/3/2014. It can take the bureaus up to 30 days to update

her records.

If there is anything else I can do, please don't hesitate to contact me

@ [redacted].

Sincerely,

Manager

Review: 8-22-2013///For several months I've been getting calls from this Corp. seeking somebody named [redacted]. I've repeatedly told USCB I am the ONLY person at number and there is NO [redacted]! I've repeatedly asked a correction be made. I have at least 3 audio recorded verifications of this. On 8-13-2013, I was assured the calls would stop and have this AUDIO recorded. I am still getting calls. The people are RUDE, INSULTING AND DOWNRIGHT DEGRADINGL!!! Today, 8-22-2013 I have at least 3 audio recorded verifications that I've had calls & attempted to get calls to stop, one guy insists I never asked to have my number removed, which is a lie and I told him I can verify that fact. They refer to people as is and infer that I am inferior to the caller. This is unacceptable!Desired Settlement: If I continue to get calls I will seek legal settlement for emotional stress.

Response:

I received your complaint today for phone number ###-###-####. I apologize for any miscommunication and have removed that teleophone number from our files. No further calls will be made to that number. It is clearly a wrong number.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

[redacted], Manager

Review: this company has repeatedly harrassed me for a supposed debt for a "school" that I allegedly signed up for. They refuse to provide a validation letter. I have told them numerous times that I have never signed up for such school and someone had fraudelently used my name. They refuse to leave me alone and are wrecking my credit for something that isn't mine.Desired Settlement: I want this removed from my credit report. It is not a valid debt. If not I will contact an attorney and sue this firm for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and slander of my good name.
