Van's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning Reviews (75)

The team of Michelle M. and Nick T. could not have been better. Nick came to our house and spent a good deal of time explaining the different types of furnaces and helped us decide which would be best for our home.
Our experience working with Nick T. was just great!

Kaleb C was great. He not only did our early maintenance, but discovered and issue and handled it promptly and in record time. We would welcome him back to do any or our service in the future.

Van's provided a very good service.

Nick was very helpful and help me select the right furnace for my house and there was no pressure from him. I was able to get a new furnace the next day. Shane and Billy did a nice job on installing the new furnace.

Worked withNick,Brian and Eugene And they very helpful and real good work.

Great experience; on time; very helpful concerns we should be made aware of.

Jason P installed my furnace this week when the old furnace went out over night. Jason was very personable and answered any and all questions that I asked. I would highly recommend Van's One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning as well as Jason P.

Jason and Geno, the two gentlemen who installed my furnace and a/c unit today really impressed me with their friendliness, deportment, knowledge and abilities. Pleasant, courteous, all business. They were done sooner than I expected for the amount of work that had to be done putting these units into my quite old mobile home. Any mess was contained and then cleaned up at first opportunity. And all old stuff was hauled off. I'm glad I chose this company and that it sent these two out to do the job. Great job, fellas! Thanks a lot.

Van's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning have been our maintenance guys for several year now. Their representatives are always prompt, efficient and friendly.

Derick was the first tech to wash the fins on the Compressor module that I can remember. While he did have to call another tech to address a blower speed issue, he was able to resolve it to my satisfaction. He is a quality hire in my opinion.

Eugene did an excellent job cleaning our duct work and blower fan. He also did a great job of what he was doing and what my options were for better filtration systems.

Brian was very friendly and professional. He explained what he found clearly and informed us of things we could do to extend the life of our furnace and air conditioner.

Nick spent a lot of time showing me my options to replace my furnace and helping me understand everything. He did a good job.

They did a great job. They arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner and were very eager to please.

I was solicited by a phone representative from Van’s One hour Heating and cooling for an air conditioner and furnace checkup in June of 2013. The technician came to my home the first week of July to inspect our perfectly working system.

After the technician was in the basement for just under an hour cleaning and inspecting our furnace he came upstairs and said he thought he found a problem with the exchange rings. He took me downstairs to view with a camera that he placed inside the furnace. He pointed out a ring that looked cracked and told me this could be dangerous. He wanted to have his boss come out and take a look as well, I agreed. His boss came out within the half hour to look at it. The ”boss” after about ten minutes came upstairs to inform me that my furnace was dangerous, and wanted to show me what he found. He proceeded to show me with the camera something lying in the bottom of my furnace. He told me that the exchange needed to be replaced and condemned my furnace. They proceeded to slap stickers all over my furnace of warning “dangerous to health, could cause death.” He advised me that replacing the broken exchange would cost around 13-1500 dollars, but the furnace was 15 years old and we might want to think about replacing it. I was very concerned with this, as we had not had a problem with the furnace ever. He then made an appointment with me to come out again and give me an estimate the next week.

When the technician came out to give me the estimate I was taken aback by the prices. He suggested I replace the furnace and air conditioning unit (even though nothing was wrong with the air conditioner) all at once for energy efficiency. I told him I did not plan on replacing the air conditioner and I might be a woman but I am in sales as well and I get the upsell. I also told him as a sales person myself I want you to know that I will be getting other estimates for this and I want your bottom line price now, don’t waste my time or yours. He said to me “let me call the office and see what I can do.” He proceeded to go outside and came back in with an additional 5% off. I thanked him and said I will be having two others come out and give me a price as well and I will go from there.

As this is summer and not in a major rush to have my furnace replaced, a month later I had another locally owned company come out and inspect it, the owner himself came out. I was appalled by what they told me! There was nothing wrong with my furnace! He proceeded to show me that One Hour had cut through my PVC air exchange pipe with a saw and left it hanging. Which I had no knowledge of! He thought that maybe he put the camera through it. He told me that wasn’t necessary at all. They could have popped the panel off the furnace. He also told me that he realized this was a serious thing to have your furnace condemned and understood it would hard to trust companies’ telling you two different opinions. He also said it would never benefit him to tell me that my furnace was good, when in fact it was dangerous, only to have us die because of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I proceeded to have a third inspection from another local company and they found nothing wrong with the furnace!

I called Van’s One Hour and I was LIVID! I told him exactly what had transpired and said whatever little magic show that they had going on with that camera was not going over with me. I told him I was reporting them to the Revdex.com and demanded my money back for the yearly maintenance of over $200. He tried to say they would come out again and take a look and explain to me. I absolutely refused! I would not allow that, after all I trusted them the first time, and now find out it was all lies! I asked when could I expect my refund check to be in the mail. He responded today. I ended our conversation.

Please be aware of the pressure scare tactics they use. Get a second and third opinion, I am glad I did!
