STAY AWAY FROM PEKING - My wife was hit (at fault by a Pekin Insured as noted in the accident report) and its been over a monthPekin will not pay for the repairs to our vehicle They are denying liability of their insured We have to use our own insurance, pay our deductible (which we can not afford to do) and fight Pekin to get them to pay for their insuredThis is a GARBAGE company and unless you want them to move slower than the government I would steer clearThe only think I can do is get another job (dont have time) so I can pay for our deductible and file report after report with the Revdex.com and the I*** D*** of I*** (which does nothing)
There needs to be oversight so companies like this cant get away with what essentially is theft
We switched to Pekin because initially they offered a much lower rate overall for home and two autos combineduntil we hit a deer (no fault in WI) and magically our rates went upit also took nearly three months to get our pathfinder returned to us (hit deer oct.26, vehicle returned around January 10th)Multiple mistakes were made by their agent, they sent the estimate to the wrong repair shopand NO one noticedUnrealFurther- my contact and conversations with the agent attached to our claim were entirely unhelpfulWouldn’t return calls until I contacted his supervisorSince then we have been dealing with all sorts of odd pickiness- an old wood burner we have never used and don’t have hooked up to anything, and they still require us to pay for it, if you are late in a payment they will threaten termination and make you a pay a 10$ fee for even just a few days, only to send another statementTruly awful customer service
Pekin represents all that is bad within the “insurance industry”They make ignorant decisions based on metrics that do not represent life’s realities and decisions that caused great stress and inconvenience to a great customerIn my line of work, if I treated my client as they have me and my family, I would be out of business before longHowever, they have the luxury of being protected from reality and the negative impact they have on others, by the sheer size and volume in numbersAfter all, why should they be concerned with the loss of one customer when they have so many at their disposal?
I will tell everyone, every agent, anyone who crosses my path in life, and through every channel possible (like this one), to never consider Pekin Insurance when shopping for auto insuranceOh, and that they don’t trust the opinion and advise of their local agent either so you will have no advocate through your local agent if you run into a difficult situationI am a credible voice since I now know firsthand that when I needed Pekin most, they were not there for me, my family or my agentEven if you have never had an accident, never missed a premium payment, and as a primary provider of insurance for your family where most members of your household have impeccable driving records and no member has ever had an at fault accident, over decades of driving combined, Pekin will throw you into the flawed actuarial scrap heap of impersonal statistics and dump you when you need them mostI am not naïve, there may only be a hand full of insurance companies who actually care about their customers but I will find one and be loyal to them which is much more than I can say for PekinI will be purchasing a significant amount of auto insurance in my lifetime and you can be sure none of it will be with PekinPekin, please change your moto “Beyond the expected” since it is advertisingYou may in fact qualify as the poster child for the negative stereotype earned by much of the insurance industry and exactly what most “expect” anyway

A few months ago, I purchased a handicap accessible van for my severely disabled sonOn Friday December 7th, my son’s mom was driving down the highway when the airbags deployed in the van out of no whereShe did not hit anything and no one hit her
It is now Wednesday December 12th we have called Brandon (our adjuster) multiple times per day and he never returns our call until right before they close and he has no answer for usWe also have tried to call the manager at Pekin and got no response after leaving a messagePekin is refusing to provide our family with a rental carWe have a $40,insurance policy that we pay over $for per month
Because Pekin will not provide a rental call or even help us with the issue our son is now missing all his appointments and therapy sessions because we have no way of getting him there
This issue needs to be addressed immediately
I had my business insured with PekinTheir company and payroll based insurance is a pain in the rear to deal with to say the leastI'm no insurance expert, but the logic makes absolutely no senseI estimate what my payroll will be for the year and they charge accordinglyAfter the year has past they perform an auditAfter the audit they say I owe them more money because my payroll was more than estimatedHow is it that after the year has past with absolutely no commercial claims it's okay to come back after the fact and demand more money when my company had absolutely no claims? We both took risks! By this logic I should be able to audit my year with them and demand refund for the fact I paid into Pekin and my business had absolutely no commercial claimsSecondly, I have auto debit set up with them so I don't have to worry about being on time with payments, it just happensThey send me a bill for the audited amount during one of the busiest times of our season, it got overlooked and was paid lateThey then turn around and cancel my business insurance and refuse to reinstate me after payment was madeI set up the auto debit for a reasonSo this wouldn't happenWhy they didn't use it is beyond meThanks for making it a real pain to give you my money for a serviceNever againThanks for nothing
I had an accident back in December, and Pekin was the insurance company for the person that hit me from behind I was extremely impressed with Pekin, and how they handled the claim for the other driver They did not delay at all, and contacted me several times to make sure that I was O.Kand that I had the information necessary I was so impressed with Pekin that I am now very interested in becoming a customer, and will be getting some quotes soon

I HAVE A CREDIT SCORE OF 760, 765, AND AND PEKIN INSURANCE USES A INSURANCE SCORE OF SO I HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR HOME OWNERS INSURANCE
