Review: Venmo illegally accessed my [redacted] account and took $2578 from my account on 11/**/15 and they continue to try to access that account (yesterday and today) tho the [redacted] has been cancelled. I have never been involved with VENMO,never subscribed to their app. Venmo is a subsidiary of [redacted] (which I have used frequently in the past). I wonder if [redacted] leaked my information about my [redacted] account to their subsidiary Venmo.Desired Settlement: Venmo returning my money and being shut down for fraudulent activity.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I was not willing to give VENMO more identifying information. Considering that VENMO stole from me, I am not willing to reveal my email, bank account number, etc for obvious reasons.I am certainly disappointed that Revdex.com can't pursue a consumer complaint without the implicated business accepting the complaint. Please let me know that you will investigate this further. I am certainly not the only person who has been hacked by VENMO.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I was sent money through their advertised money transferring website. The person who sent me the money is continually being charged. I was sent a total of $2,750. $1,250 of that money is locked and frozen in my venom account. The other $1,500 is unaccounted for. I have sent NUMEROUS emails, went on their live chat, and searched every where for a contact number but there is no response. This has gone on for 21 days now. I need my account unfrozen and the full funds transferred to my banking account.Desired Settlement: I expect to have the money frozen in my Venmo account transferred to my bank account like I submitted 21 days ago and for the other $1,250 to be located and transferred to asap.

December **, 2015 [redacted]

[redacted] Venmo, LLC (“Venmo”) is in receipt of [redacted]) complaint received via the Revdex.com dated December **, 2015 regarding Venmo. Please find our response to his concerns below as well as background on Venmo. Venmo is a domestic person-to-person payments service that allows individual Venmo users to send or request payment from each other using our mobile application or through our website. Payments may be funded with a credit or debit card, a bank account or a Venmo balance. Venmo prefunds payments using its own funds in order to make funds available to Venmo recipients faster than otherwise would be possible. However, in the event that the funds are not received by Venmo from the payee’s financial institution (for example, due to a chargeback or insufficient fund return), Venmo will not allow the recipient to receive the payment (since the payment failed). [redacted] claims that he did not receive the $2,750.00 in funds after he attempted to transfer these funds from his Venmo account to his bank account. Venmo records show that the payments initiated on November **, 2015 and November **, 2015 for the amounts of $2,000.00, $500.00, and $250.00 were processed initially by Venmo, however Venmo subsequently received notification from the original payee's bank that several payments failed due to insufficient funds. A review conducted also shows that [redacted] violated the Venmo User Agreement by creating multiple personal accounts. Due to these reasons, Venmo did not allow [redacted] to transfer the payments totaling $2,750.00 referenced by [redacted]. Any funds successfully received by Venmo have been returned back to the original payment sender and advises for his payment partner to contact Venmo Support. As such, Venmo will not provide [redacted] with the $2,750.00 referenced given the information above and regrets that it can no longer offer its services to [redacted]. Regards, Venmo Compliance [redacted]

Review: On December [redacted], 2015 Venmo cancelled my $460 transfer to my Wells Fargo account that my mom had sent me through Venmo. The message I received from Venmo stated that the transfer was cancelled and the $460 will be returned back to my Venmo account. However this never happened and my Venmo balance is at $0 now. Where did the money go? I reached out to their support team multiple times, but I haven't heard anything back, not even a single email. I just want them to unfreeze my account and return back the $ that I need.Desired Settlement: Unfreeze my account and return back the money that I need to my Venmo account or just issue a refund back.

on November **, 2015 for the amount of $460.00 raised multiple security flags.

A review of the Venmo accounts in question resulted in the identification that

Nubla created multiple Venmo accounts for no apparent reason. Due to this,

Venmo made the decision to reverse the funds back to its original payment

instrument. Venmo’s Risk group notified Nubla of this on December **, 2015.

Nubla had inquired as to whether their account can be reopened and Venmo

Compliance has responded to this inquiry with the necessary information needed

for consideration. We hope this helps to

Review: On 1/*/16 I received $163.09 in my Venmo account and subsequently withdrew that amount to my linked bank account. Shortly thereafter, I received a notice from Venmo stating that my account was frozen due to "unusual activity". As attempts to contact Venmo through the normal channels (the Contact Us link on their website and through the customer support chat in their Android app) were completely fruitless in the past, filing a Revdex.com complaint is the only avenue I know of that Venmo actually responds to.Desired Settlement: A deposit in the amount of $163.09 in my bank account.

March **, 2016 [redacted]

[redacted] RE: Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted] I am writing on behalf of PayPal, Inc. in response to your complaint regarding PayPal’s Venmo product. You state that you sent a $16.00 payment to your son’s account via Venmo but that you wish to cancel that transaction and receive a refund. Response On May **, 2015, you created a Venmo account (“Account”), at which time you agreed to the Venmo user agreement (“User Agreement”). On the same day, you added your Chase Bank account (“Bank Account”) to your Venmo Account to use as a funding source for future purchases. On February **, 2016, you sent a $16.00 payment to your recipient (“Recipient”). On March *, 2016, you contacted Venmo stating that you wished to cancel that transaction and requested to receive a full refund. Payments sent to active Venmo users are instant, which means that the money is withdrawn from your account immediately. There isn’t a way to stop the debit being made from your funding source once you’ve sent a payment to another user. Additionally, you are responsible for all funds you send through Venmo and payments cannot be canceled after they've been sent to active users. However, on March *, 2016, Venmo advised that they would contact the Recipient to let him know that you were requesting that the transaction be canceled. Venmo gave the Recipient three business days to respond to the request. On March *, 2016, Venmo reversed the $16.00 transaction from the Recipient’s account and sent the funds back to your Bank Account. Please allow up to three days for the funds to reflect back in your Bank Account. Explanation of Closure We believe that Venmo acted in good faith and in accordance with the User Agreement when processing your payment. As the $16.00 payment has been reversed back to your Bank Account, we consider this matter resolved. We offer our sincerest apologies for any difficulties you may have encountered while using our Venmo service. Please feel free to contact PayPal’s Executive Escalations Office at [redacted], should you have any questions or concerns, or if I can be of further assistance to you. Very sincerely yours, Kellie L[redacted] Executive Escalations Tell us why here...

Venmo records show that multiple security flags were raised when a review of the payment was conducted. Based on this review, on December **, 2015, Venmo made the decision to reverse these funds back [redacted] original payment instrument. Review: I attempted to transfer money to my fiance through Venmo. I inadvertently charged her the amount I was going to sent her, so I immediately followed that request with one to send her the same amount to effectively cancel the prior transaction. This resulted in Venmo freezing our accounts, but not before they had removed the money from my fiance's account. So now she no longer has the money I inadvertently requested and I have no way to get it or repay her, as I had attempted to do. They requested documents, IDs and bank statements. This would be fine but time was of the essence or I would have originally just wrote her a check. A total of 11 emails between myself and my fiance went unanswered for over 24 hours. The company has no know phone number to contact, so you are at the mercy of their email response. They use twitter or email for customer support. Explaining the situation to support resulted in a carbon copy response to submit the requested documents from a "[redacted]". This seems to be the generic signature in every response. After a couple rounds of email back and forth, over 2 days, they agree to cancel the request and just return the money to my fiance's Venmo account for her to recoup the funds. This seemed acceptable until it took two more days to return to her account after cashing it out from Venmo. The day it was finally returned to her Venmo contacted her again to tell her she owes the company the amount she just cashed out, per their fix. Their reasoning, I have the same amount of money, as she just removed, to cash out of my account. They cannot even follow their own transactions they supposedly canceled to return her the money. Furthermore, their claim that I have this money available to me to cash out is false. There is nothing in my account and they insist she owes money. So now we are stuck waiting to email them to resolve alleged debt, which is the result of their poor accounting in their correction.Desired Settlement: This company, dealing with financial instruments, should be forced to have a phone contact option. Their inefficiency in response time and botched corrections when is "resolved" could easily be alleviated by a simple phone conversation. This system likely serves them well as they just hold the money, where they may invest and move it around during a drawn out resolution.

Venmo prefunds payments initiated, however in the event that the funds are not received from the payees designated financial institution, Venmo will attempt to recover the funds from another funding source to prevent a loss to Venmo. As the complaint states, [redacted] confirms he erroneously charged his payment partner. Venmo records show this charge was occurred on 1/**/2015 which resulted in Venmo prefunding the payment. To address this error, [redacted] immediately initiated a $1,500 payment back to his payment partner. These subsequent payments raised flags in the Venmo system and resulted in restrictions being placed on the [redacted]’s Venmo account as a security measure. Venmo records show that all inquiries related specifically to [redacted]’s Venmo account were addressed within the same day. [redacted]’s complaint demands Venmo to offer a phone option. Venmo does not currently offer phone support as we are a small team, however strives to answer inquires within a timely manner. was August **, 2014. It is now 3 days past that date I have received nothing. I never received any notification that my dellivery date has been delayed or my new delivery date/time, just absolutely nothing! What's even more infuriating and upsetting is that I have reached out to

them several times via email, via [redacted], and via contact link on their website, and all of my communications have gone ignored and unacknowledged.

I do not understand how a company that provides such a service to the American involving the transfer and exchange of currency is allowed to have only

email and [redacted] as a means of support/communication for their customers.Desired Settlement: IMMEDIATE completion of deposit, and an apology for ignoring all my communications

Venmo LLC (“Venmo”) is in receipt of [redacted]’s (“[redacted]”) complaint received via the Revdex.com dated 08/**/2014 and 9/*/2014 regarding his complaint of non-receipt of funds. Please find our response to his concerns below.

Venmo is a P2P payments service that allows its users to send or request payments via text or email to other individuals. These actions are only processed by Venmo, based on the initial request made by a Venmo user and if funds are available from the funding method in question.

Upon further review of the Revdex.com complaint letter received for [redacted], he claims that he received an email confirmation noting the expected deposit date for the funds in question. Venmo records show the sender’s initial payment method did not have sufficient funds in the designated bank account to process the payment.

As such, Venmo could not process [redacted]’s deposit of the funds, and was [redacted] advised of such by Venmo’s Fraud group on 8/**/2014.

Please be advised that Venmo’s Fraud and Compliance group has conducted an investigation on [redacted]’s account, as well as the other related Venmo accounts in question, and have chosen to exercise our right to terminate our relationship with [redacted].

Review: On 8/**/2015 Venmo charged my credit/debit card $2970.00

This was a total scam, I DO NOT have a Venmo account, nor do I do any business with Venmo. My bank has been notified, my card has been cancelled, and yet the very next day, they tried to debit my card again. I was lucky to have caught it the same day it happened because I checked my bank account and noticed the FRAUDULENT CHARGE. The number you call to try to contact them is nothing more than a recording asking you to leave a message or send an email, which I have done.Desired Settlement: I want these FRAUDULENT CHARGES reversed!!!

[redacted]Venmo, LLC (“Venmo”) is in

receipt of [redacted] ([redacted]) complaint received via the Revdex.com dated November **,

2015 regarding Venmo. Please find our response to his concerns below as well as

background on Venmo. Venmo is a domestic

person-to-person payments service that allows individual Venmo users to send or

request payment from each other using our mobile application or through our

website. Payments may be funded with a credit or debit card, a bank account or

a Venmo balance. Venmo prefunds payments using its own funds in order to make

funds available to Venmo recipients faster than otherwise would be

possible. However, in the event that the

funds are not received by Venmo from the payee’s financial institution (for

example, due to a chargeback or insufficient fund return), Venmo will not allow

the recipient to receive the payment (since the payment failed). Mr. Goode states that he

never received the $900.00 after he attempted to transfer the funds from his

Venmo account to his bank account. Venmo records show that a payment was initiated

on November 20, 2015 for the amount of $900.00. Security flags were raised as a

result of this payment that resulted in it being held for review. Mr. Goode was

requested by Venmo to provide information for verification, for which he

supplied.Venmo records show this

review was completed and the $900.00 payment in question was processed successfully.

Based on this information, Venmo considers this complaint successfully resolved. Regards,Venmo Compliance [redacted]

I sent a friend $300 through our venmo app. On Sunday at 6:34pm the money was sent and it's 5:09pm Wednesday. Still no money o.k. his account and no one to call or figure out what's going on.

Review: I tried to move money from one of my account to another account and it gave me an error and said that I cant do it. Yet when I checked my bank account they did take out the money and there is no record of the transfer in my account with venmo and now the money has moved from my account to I don't know where. I filed a separate complaint with [redacted] for their negligence on this. I have already emailed venmo and its been more than 48 hours and they have not contacted me. I am now in overdraft with my bank because the money didn't move and my bills were charged to my account. No one is doing anything about it and [redacted] said that since I filed an investigation there is nothing that they can do until the investigation is over and I am stuck with no money and overdraft fees from my bank.Desired Settlement: Not only would I like them to issue a refund so I can get my money. I would also like this to never happen to anyone else. I want them to assure me that they are working on the issue and to figure out how money moved on my account with no receipt and no way to cancel it

Review: Transferred money from my credit card to another recipient. Money was frozen because of identity issues. Sent identity paperwork to unfreeze account. No replies. Nothing! The money was applied to my credit card. Still, recipient hadn't received it and I get no replies from venmo. They received everything they needed on my part, read reviews getting concerned. I transferred 2000.00. No small change for to be hanging in limbo. They should have asked for identity before transferring the money and not releasing it!!! Please help! Thank you!Desired Settlement: I want the funds transfered to the recipient asap!
