Really happy with the quality of 8mm transfer to digital, as are my parents! To sit with them and watch their wedding movie from 65 years ago was a precious experience, both in seeing the film and watching together. Ordered the Pro 2K processing with advanced grain elimination technology. I went high-end all the way and it was well worth it. I have used this service twice and will use it again.

I was amazed at the quality of the home movies (60) years old. It brought me back to a when I was a kid.

This company did an excellent job on my 8mm restoration and conversion. They kept me apprised along the way of the process/receipt of my film and mailing. They were very professional and the cost was reasonable compared to other companies I checked out. I will be sending them more work in the future.

I was looking to convert 28 reels of Super 8 sound movies from early 1980. I researched various local and nation labs and read many reveiws. Consistantly Video Conversion Experts popped up as highly recommended. When I called, I talked with Brad for about 15 min. and he explained every step of the procces and every option that I had. He even talked me out of one of the filters I wanted to use, he said I would be wasting my money on the type of media I had. When I sent my order in I was notified every step of the procces, from the time they received it to the time it was shipped. My order arrived on time and could not have been happier with the results.

I sent in a dozen reels of Super 8 family movies from the 1950s through 1960s. You can find cheaper places, but you will get what you pay for. Vid-Con-Ex charges fairly and offers absolutely 1st rate service, not only in conversion but customer service as well. I can't recommend them highly enough. I have another box of my late dad's films that pre-date me heading off to Vid-Con-Ex shortly. Repeat business is the best endorsement.

I had some super 8 film I recorded 30 years ago and always thought I needed to get it put on a CD so my children would have it years after I was gone. I finally decided to get it done, so started the search looking for a company that I could trust with my memories from years back.
After searching for several days on-line, I decided to go with Video Conversion Experts. What I liked the best was their web-page - seemed to be professionally done, and had a wealth of information on different types of processing I could choose from.
To be quite honest, I was worried to just send my film off to the unknown, since I been burnt doing things like this before, but off it went -- hoping for the best.
VCE stayed in touch when they received my film, sent and offered a clip of my film on a better option on the grain choices and quoted the difference in price, which was very resonable in price for the conversion for a better picture.
Received my film within 10 business days. What a great product, and I'm one that is hard to please!

These guys were able to take 40 years old "Super 8" video, of college football games, which I assumed had already deteriorated beyond repair and recover it so well that I was able to put it "on-line". This was an outstanding effort, a remarkable effort and exceeded all my expectations. I would recommend them without hesitations.

Review: I used the Video Conversion Expert's website (and the Revdex.com rating) to purchase a transfer of VHS tapes to DVD Blu Ray. After speaking to Brad I placed the order online using their form which details options and up to 4 hours of tape transfer to the Blu Ray. I chose to pay for all the upgrades and told Brad I wanted the transfer to look as good as it could. When I played the Blu Ray disc the picture ([redacted]-which are puppets) looked worse-- and my Blu Ray player does a great job of improving anything you play on it--than my original VHS tape. The second show, "[redacted]" needed color and tracking correction but there was no discernible difference--not even close as advertised with pictures on the website--it was just as green and blurrier. There were even cartoons that looked worse--blurry and distorted and they were okay on my VHS. At the beginning of one show the message "Video Calibration" interrupts the program. When I e-mailed Brad to let him know I could not give these as gifts nor would I ever watch them because the quality of the VHS tape was better, he responded that their equipment is expensive and insisted the conversion improved the VHS recordings. He also downloaded a picture to show how it had been improved (which it is NOT at all!). He offered to try a different machine if I wanted to spend another $16 mailing the tapes back and then told me he did me a favor and saved me $200 because he should have charged for more hours--which was not how their on-line form calculates/estimates and not what he told me when I spoke to him before purchasing--If he had told me it would have saved us both grief. The fact that there is a "Video Calibration" message on my copy proves that no one even looked/or checked the finished product and that message is NOT something I contracted for, agreed to, or want.Desired Settlement: I don't want the DVD's, they can have them back but I'm not paying for shipping them. I want a full refund.

I haven't heard anything from the customer since sending a before/after picture showing that we did improve the video. So, I was unaware until today (1/6/2015) that the customer had issued a complaint. As the customer states we were willing to look at the tapes again but apparently the customer was unwilling to send the tapes back. It is obvious from our reviews going back 10 years that we work with our customers should any issues come up. In fact we have never had a single complaint in over 10 years. So, we are willing to work with this customer as well. But, we have had a few customers order our service, copy the DVDs or BluRays and then ask for a refund. So, we are willing to refund this customer if they send the BluRays back. We want to make sure they have not been copied. If they have been copied we cannot issue a refund. If they have not been copied we will issue a full refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I'd like to reiterate that I did e-mail Brad and as mentioned in my complaint he did not address the fact that I paid for restoration and the tapes were worse. More importantly there was a "video calibration" message added to the finished product. I did not make any copies and will return the DVDs at my expense for a full refund of $239.00. When the business refunds my account I will consider this complaint resolved.

We had an extremely positive experience with Video Conversion Experts and would use them again. We had one on one personal help to help decide which process to use. The end product was extremely satisfying, even though we did not use the most expensive conversion technique. We used the next best. They even helped us find a company to convert some of our old records to a modern format.

Very professional and very prompt service. I plan on bringing them more media to convert to DVD.
