I just had one of the very worst supplier experiences I've had to suffer and feel compelled to say something so that you won't make the same mistakeOn 06Jan2015, we contracted with a local moving company called Keep Austin Moving ( [redacted] ) to move my daughter's apartment belongings to the storage unit facility down the street on [redacted] We like to support our local businesses so we decided to go with KAM since they're located in South Austin off of [redacted] ***This move was a nightmare from the start for my wife Sharon who met the movers at the apartmentHere are the lowlights: I emphasized that this is a simple move that should easily complete within the 2hr minimum, yet we were charged for 2.5hrsSharon reported to me that the two movers that showed up with the driver worked slower than reasonably expected and almost appeared to waste time to lengthen the time just so they could charge us moreOne mover tried to handle my daughter's heavy entertainment center alone by flipping it on its short edge up on to a dollyThe piece is very heavy and too much for one person to handleObviously struggling, he finally dropped the piece on the concrete walkway causing the glass doors to pop outThey did not properly protect my daughter's dining room table in the van and caused irreparable damage to one of the cornersTo add insult, they denied causing the damage when confronted at the storage facility saying that the scratches were there prior to starting the moveI submitted a claim for the damaged table top and complained about the extra time I was charged due to their lazinessAfter several days and many emails, we received a check out of the blue for $to cover the irreparable scratches to the table that will cost hundreds of dollars to replace (just the top)I found this unacceptable and when I pressed further, their response back to me was, "Listed at the bottom right are all of the options to purchase extra insurance or protection" and that the $was their final offerGranted, they did not break any laws, or our contract, but the people they sent to move us were careless, negligent and slowThis company does take pride in doing a quality jobBe warned.”

Thanks for getting the claim and the pictures to me I have looked over everything you sent as well as reviewed the original move paperwork I have a few questions that need to be answered before I can proceed Most of the questions deal with relating the pictures to the text in your claim Basically, I can't really see what I'm looking at in the pictures and I need some clarificationWhat is wrong with the coffee table Please describe the damage so that I can see which picture is the coffee tableWho took the dining table apart and who put it back together?I see two addresses on your original move paperwork Originally, we were supposed to deliver your items to an Uncle Bob's Storage However, it is handwritten on your paperwork [redacted] # *** Where did we deliver each specific item? The damages that you have sent me pictures of is fairly extensive Why didn't you note this damage to the movers on the day of the move? Thanks in advance for your prompt response.***###-###-####

**PLEASE READ BEFORE CHOOSING THIS COMPANY [redacted] I found this company last minute on google after my company had given me days to move I filled out an online quote and Matt called me right awayafter speaking to him and telling him what I had to move (because he did not come out to look at anything) Matt sent me an email contract that stated "BINDING SERVICE ORDER" for $ I was not there when the crew arrived in a make-shift horse trailer and began packing/loading-- without going over the contract with meat the end of the day Matt's employees started complaining about Matt and how he works them like dogs and constantly yells at them, they started telling me about other issues that customers had previously with Matt changing the pricing on them last minute-- needless to say I started to become alittle nervous so I txted Matt to confirm my "BINDING CONTRACT" totalin which he told me that the prices would be changing because I had more than what he had thought (keep in mind he did give me a quote without coming out and looking)-- trying to be reasonable I asked how much more and he then quoted me $ Shocked I told him absolutely not-- at this time the movers stopped working and one of the movers came over to me and tried to force me to sign a contract-- he told me that he would loose his job if I didn't sign because he was supposed to get it signed before they started--I refused and called Matt Matt was very abrasive and rude-- he told me if I didn't sign or refused to pay the $3700, he would have his guys take my things-- under duress I signed the contract-- what could I do-- they have 75% of my things already loaded and he was threatening to take all of my things and his movers were pacing the floor starring at me because Matt was yelling at them for not going over the contract with me before startingso I signed only agreeing to pay $total-- more than our "BINDING CONTRACT" After that I was frustrated and started voicing some comments and concerns about the way Matt hand handled everything..to my surprise the workers sided with me and started to really speak poorly about Matt and the company and how he had screwed so many other customers When they arrived to the new house with the shipment they started to unload everything and we started seeing damage after damage-- mad I called Matt and asked how we were going to handle damages-- he assured me we would work out a claim-- minutes later one of the workers came over to me and asked to be paid-- I told him NO I wanted to see if anything else was damaged and they again stopped working and threatened to take my stuff-- when I finally got ahold of Matt he told me the crew was supposed to make me pay before unloading anything-- which they had not--- by this time it was almost 9pm at night and I just wanted it all to be over-- so I told the MATT I would pay the original $in cash and the remaining $on my Credit Card-- please keep in mind the "BINDING CONTRACT" stated I could pay with CASH, MONEY ORDER, CERT CHECK, OR CREDIT CARDMatt told me he would not take a card because he thought I would dispute the charges later--- needless to say I had to go to a store late at night to get the remaining balance while these guys stayed at my house--- again I was bullied WHAT COULD I DO I just wanted it to be over All together They dented my Stainless Steel frig doors, huge chucks of wood were missing from our little girls baby crib, our entertainment center, our curio, and bed frames Our kitchen table was completely split in half beyond repair as well as lamps, scraps and scratches on my leather sofas, my 80" flatscreen base was bent so now my TV leans forward to far-- not to mention I'm missing a coin collection I was sent a claim form which I filled out and sent into Matt and received a check in the mail for all my losses for $163.00---------------NO that isn't a typo, $for all the damages and heartache this company has put my family thru MORAL OF THIS STORYif your looking to have a moving company relieve stress by coming in to pack and move your belongings safely-- THEN DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! CUSTOMERS BEWARE:
One of the WORST moving companies I've ever dealt withAfter my recent move I wasn't happy with the entire experience and the expertise of the two moversMyself and friends did a lot of the work to keep them on scheduleI wasn't about to pay for additional hours we didn't agree uponOne of the guys was new (didn't take an expert to notice)He was sloppy and slowA few items of mine were broken and mishandledI do not expect to hear back from the owner MattI've left him several messagesAll I can do at this point is warn people of the terrible business practice this business hasIt's quite a shame because I'm all for supporting local business and I told Matt that I would use their flyers and refer new residents to them if the move lived up to his promiseIt did notI will post reviews on all sites I know to WARN people to steer clear from Keep Austin MovingSorry, MattYou've done this to yourself
P.SIf you manage to contact me and redeem yourself with a reasonable solution, I will gladly edit my reviews as I see fit

I hired Keep Austin Moving without looking at reviews (which all agree with my experience) because I desperately needed someone with availability on July 31stMatt said they could do it, he told me they would be there at 10:(he never said there is a hour window for them to arrive, but having moved before I knew this) when they hadn't arrived at 10:I called to try to see what time frame I could expect themNo answerI left a voice mail and asked to be called backI called again, around 11:and said I was worried about them not showing up (since it is on multiple reviews that they do this)Matt called back and very rudely assured me that they would be there before 12:and that only then would I know if they were going to be lateI let that slide because moving is stressful enoughThen the movers (Carlos and his team) show upThey are upset that they have to move college students, they are wasting time, they are rude and upset because we're on the 4th floor and they have to use the same elevator as the rest of the buildingI want to point out that moving into this place a few months prior took two and a half hours and the elevators were broken, the movers brought everything up through the stairsThe movers this time took hours since they were taking smoking and cellphone breaks constantly and just overall worked very slowlyI also tried to spread to Matt about this but since there was no money involved in talking to me, I cannot expect him to call meHe should not be able to conduct business any more if he will continue thisMultiple of the boxes that said "fragile" were thrown around, the one important piece was a mirror that they broke and ignored that we heard and asked what happened

I purchased a living social deal with them about months ago and immediately scheduled my move for June 14th A woman called me days prior to confirm the move, which I was happy about since I was already stressed about all the things I needed it get done before the moveMoving day arrives and my time window of 10:am-12:30pm has passedI call and leave a voicemail and receive a text back saying they were caught up at their last move but my move was next in lineAn hour goes by, and I'm wondering how much longer they will be(time is now 1:30, an hour past the latest time of my time window)I call again and have to leave a voicemail asking for an ETAThey TEXT me back again and say it will be another hour and a half....so 1/hr past my time windowOkay....that's fine, I understand sometimes things happen, and I'm not unreasonableSo, I call again after I don't hear from them after that "hour and a half"Fast forward to 6pm, numerous voicemails, and texts from me and I never heard from them, they never showed up to do my move, and they STILL haven't contacted meI don't want them to at this pointI thought this was not only poor business practice but just plain MEAN to do to someoneWe ended up scrambling to find someone and had to do the move ourselvesI would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!

I just had one of the very worst supplier experiences I've had to suffer and feel compelled to say something so that you won't make the same mistake. On 06Jan2015, we contracted with a local moving company called Keep Austin Moving ([redacted]) to move my daughter's apartment belongings to the storage unit facility down the street on [redacted]. We like to support our local businesses so we decided to go with KAM since they're located in South Austin off of [redacted].
This move was a nightmare from the start for my wife Sharon who met the movers at the apartment. Here are the lowlights:
I emphasized that this is a simple move that should easily complete within the 2hr minimum, yet we were charged for 2.5hrs. Sharon reported to me that the two movers that showed up with the driver worked slower than reasonably expected and almost appeared to waste time to lengthen the time just so they could charge us more.
One mover tried to handle my daughter's heavy entertainment center alone by flipping it on its short edge up on to a dolly. The piece is very heavy and too much for one person to handle. Obviously struggling, he finally dropped the piece on the concrete walkway causing the glass doors to pop out.
They did not properly protect my daughter's dining room table in the van and caused irreparable damage to one of the corners. To add insult, they denied causing the damage when confronted at the storage facility saying that the scratches were there prior to starting the move.
I submitted a claim for the damaged table top and complained about the extra time I was charged due to their laziness. After several days and many emails, we received a check out of the blue for $90 to cover the irreparable scratches to the table that will cost hundreds of dollars to replace (just the top).
I found this unacceptable and when I pressed further, their response back to me was, "Listed at the bottom right are all of the options to purchase extra insurance or protection" and that the $90 was their final offer.
Granted, they did not break any laws, or our contract, but the people they sent to move us were careless, negligent and slow. This company does take pride in doing a quality job. Be warned.”

Thanks for getting the claim and the pictures to me.  I have looked over everything you sent as well as reviewed the original move paperwork.  I have a few questions that need to be answered before I can proceed.  Most of the questions deal with relating the pictures to the text in your claim.  Basically, I can't really see what I'm looking at in the pictures and I need some clarification.1. What is wrong with the coffee table.  Please describe the damage so that I can see which picture is the coffee table.2. Who took the dining table apart and who put it back together?3. I see two addresses on your original move paperwork.  Originally, we were supposed to deliver your items to an Uncle Bob's Storage.  However, it is handwritten on your paperwork [redacted] # [redacted].  Where did we deliver each specific item?4. The damages that you have sent me pictures of is fairly extensive.  Why didn't you note this damage to the movers on the day of the move? Thanks in advance for your prompt response.[redacted]###-###-####

**PLEASE READ BEFORE CHOOSING THIS COMPANY**
I found this company last minute on google after my company had given me 4 days to move. I filled out an online quote and Matt called me right away.. after speaking to him and telling him what I had to move (because he did not come out to look at anything) Matt sent me an email contract that stated "BINDING SERVICE ORDER" for $2254.10. I was not there when the crew arrived in a make-shift horse trailer and began packing/loading-- without going over the contract with me... at the end of the day Matt's employees started complaining about Matt and how he works them like dogs and constantly yells at them, they started telling me about other issues that customers had previously with Matt changing the pricing on them last minute-- needless to say I started to become alittle nervous so I txted Matt to confirm my "BINDING CONTRACT" total.. in which he told me that the prices would be changing because I had more than what he had thought (keep in mind he did give me a quote without coming out and looking)-- trying to be reasonable I asked how much more and he then quoted me $3700. Shocked I told him absolutely not-- at this time the movers stopped working and one of the movers came over to me and tried to force me to sign a contract-- he told me that he would loose his job if I didn't sign because he was supposed to get it signed before they started--I refused and called Matt. Matt was very abrasive and rude-- he told me if I didn't sign or refused to pay the $3700, he would have his guys take my things-- under duress I signed the contract-- what could I do-- they have 75% of my things already loaded and he was threatening to take all of my things and his movers were pacing the floor starring at me because Matt was yelling at them for not going over the contract with me before starting.. so I signed only agreeing to pay $3000 total-- more than our "BINDING CONTRACT". After that I was frustrated and started voicing some comments and concerns about the way Matt hand handled everything..to my surprise the workers sided with me and started to really speak poorly about Matt and the company and how he had screwed so many other customers. When they arrived to the new house with the shipment they started to unload everything and we started seeing damage after damage-- mad I called Matt and asked how we were going to handle damages-- he assured me we would work out a claim-- minutes later one of the workers came over to me and asked to be paid-- I told him NO I wanted to see if anything else was damaged and they again stopped working and threatened to take my stuff-- when I finally got ahold of Matt he told me the crew was supposed to make me pay before unloading anything-- which they had not--- by this time it was almost 9pm at night and I just wanted it all to be over-- so I told the MATT I would pay the original $2254.10 in cash and the remaining $745.90 on my Credit Card-- please keep in mind the "BINDING CONTRACT" stated I could pay with CASH, MONEY ORDER, CERT CHECK, OR CREDIT CARD... Matt told me he would not take a card because he thought I would dispute the charges later--- needless to say I had to go to a store late at night to get the remaining balance while these guys stayed at my house--- again I was bullied WHAT COULD I DO. I just wanted it to be over. All together They dented my Stainless Steel frig doors, huge chucks of wood were missing from our little girls baby crib, our entertainment center, our curio, and bed frames. Our kitchen table was completely split in half beyond repair as well as lamps, scraps and scratches on my leather sofas, my 80" flatscreen base was bent so now my TV leans forward to far-- not to mention I'm missing a coin collection. I was sent a claim form which I filled out and sent into Matt and received a check in the mail for all my losses for $163.00---------------NO that isn't a typo, $163 for all the damages and heartache this company has put my family thru. MORAL OF THIS STORY... if your looking to have a moving company relieve stress by coming in to pack and move your belongings safely-- THEN DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!
