After speaking with several student coordinators, I was advised that the reason I have a hold on my account preventing me from resuming my course is due to the outstanding balanceThe balance is from the 1st academic year, which ended May of according to the student coordinator since an academic year with the University is complete after successful coursesThe total balance owed as of today is $4,and it was finally explained to me that because I received the LDG from my previous employer, Financial Aid couldn't be applied in the same academic yearThe reason I had to update my payment option was that as of August I was no longer employed with T-Mobile that provided the LDG and that was my only way to now pay for the coursesOn October 5th I spoke with Austin Jones from Corporate Student Advisors who confirmed since I was no longer employed I would have to complete this request to continue coursesOn November 8th I signed and completed the requested inf

I graduated from Ashford on 07-17- Around the second week of August I logged into my student portal to submit a request for an official transcript Upon loggining in, my account showed that there were four holds on it I contacted the financial aid department, who transferred me to the business admindepartment I was informed that I was issued too much in stipends in the amount of $ I requested to know why I was not informed, and they stated my account had just got out of auditing I was then informed I could set up a payment plan in the amount of $a month I stated I could not afford that amount, and was transferred to the collections department for the school After speaking with a collections representative, a minimum monthly payment of $was agreed upon, and per the representative, it was noted in my account Since this agreement, I have been contacted by two Ashford representatives who have openly admitted that the collections repshould have never agree

While going through a divorce, I decided I needed to go back to school to finish my degreeA full-time job and babysitter would be in my near future as I signed a prenup and would receive a low amount capped alimony for years and state approved child support of $2,I thought an online degree would fit into my schedule while taking care of my children and legal appointmentsAt $per course every weeks I would need helpI contacted Ashford and told them my situationI didn't have a job and the child support and temp alimony wasn't enough to cover my bills and apartmentAshford said I would qualify for financial aidI filled out all forms, no problemsIn the meantime, Ashford said, "Let's have you start your classes next week." I was excited and said yes! I'll have purpose and feel good that I'm preparing for a successful futureAt a GPA of 3.98, I was studying hard and feeling proud of myselfThey then signed me up for more classesWhile taking a class every weeks, I continued going back and forth with financial aid counselors and my student counselor regarding approval"No problem, you'll qualify for aid, just continue your classes!" they saidI started to get a little suspicious of the jumping through hoops and major runaroundWhen I called to pursue my aid approval, they put my account on holdFirst I qualified and then I didn'tI was devastated! They told me everything I wanted to hear (and more), but didn't deliverThey said that my ex-husbands income tax reports showed I wouldn't qualify for aid, even though I signed a prenup and wouldn't get ANY of his moneyI sent Ashford a signed letter to prove my situation (which THEY asked for) and approved financial aid againThen they said, "okay, when can you start your next class?" I started my next class at their guidance believing that I was financially okay with student aidAfter that class, they put me on hold, againThen all contact subsided on their end for weeksThe next week I received a call from collections, collections!!! What a very sad situation to be inI feel like I want to sue them for leading me on and using my emotions against me, but I don't have the income to support such a fightThey acted like my best friend to hook me inThey promised financial aid yet didn't deliverI feel betrayed and they took advantage of my situationI'm very disappointed at Ashford and disappointed at myself for trusting themPlease beware of this "FOR PROFIT" school as they don't give a damn if they ruin your life or futureVery sad

I have attended a few on campus and electronic universities throughout my college careerAshford University is by far the most unprofessional, unorganized, unresponsive and unwilling to take accountabilityAlthough I am very grateful I was able to attend an online school to further my graduate education, if I would have been warned ahead of time I would have chosen a different university
Please save yourself the extra stress and research your other options before deciding on this last resort online learning environment that Ashford calls a university

I attended Ashford between 2012-(Bachelors in BIS) and I had a mostly positive experienceThe material and online sources are extensiveI had access to several academic databases that aided in my research for assignmentsAlthough, one critique I do have is the structure that each class followedI understand that online requires more structure than a traditional brick and mortar university, but I also believe that instructors were limited in their creative abilityI would prefer more interaction and even video lectures from the instructorsThis should be something at the top of their list if they want to keep students interestedI am more of a self-learner, so it worked for me okayHope they continue to improve

I am a student at Ashford University and have for sometime been dealing with financial issues with the schoolI have noticed they are charging me ridiculous fees for courses I did not takeI advised them that courses they want me to pay for weren’t taken by meYet somehow I am still billed for it and am making payments on itWhen I finished my Masters Degree I was told to obtain an A in my last course for my GPA which I did and next I’m told I can not have my masters degree until I take more courses making an A and even then I can not have the masters until I pay in full for the classes which I don’t understand why I must take when I obtained the I was go to get for my degreeWhen I disputed the issue I was told I have to pay or they will just dismiss me with no credentialsI’m a mother of six and a husband with a disabilitySevere epilepsyI never have money laying around to just give outIsis the advisor told me that’s not her problem amen I need to pay the fee n

This company has charged me for loans that seem to have been falsifiedThe money that is considered my debt is left over from loans of $1980, $1176, and $Ashford says that those loans were refunded to the servicer when I failed coursesThe US Dept of Education and the loan servicer, ***, have both said to me that they have no record of any loans originated in those amounts and no record of any refund
They do have record of loans applied for on my behalf by Ashford, but originating in the amounts of $0, $and $Ashford has no record of these amounts and will not acknowledge themI have called Ashford and complained, I have filled out their dispute form and been referred to their grievance center and promised to be contacted in the days following, with no such contact being madeI've tried to call them after that and been led to a voicemail message and no return callThis debt is now on my credit report as a debt owed after being sent to collection a

I completed my associate's degree at a local community college in and decided to go back to finish my Bachelor's at Ashford about years ago and am currently classes away from completing my Bachelor's degree with Ashford UniversityI have had nothing but positive experiences with this schoolThe advisor and financial services people have always been very helpful, knowledgeable, and politeMy advisor reaches out to me periodically, sometimes to let me know if there is anything that will affect my degree progress, such as a rescheduled class, and sometimes just to see if I need anything or have any questions about where I am at
Some of the negative reviews mentioned the amount of money spent, but they were always up front with how much it would cost and my advisor even suggested that I complete electives through the local community college to speed up my progress and save some moneyI do have a military grant and pell grant, so the amount for me isn't as much as others are spending, but I have never been surprised by any of the fees, as they outline it clearly before you commit to start taking classesConsidering the grants that I have, I would have paid at least five times more to complete my degree through a local University than the amount I have spent with Ashford
They also accepted all of my prior credits from my associate's, including classes that were completed 10+ years ago, and transferring credits that I completed concurrently from another school has been quick and easyI haven't had any experience trying to transfer these credits somewhere else, but I don't really have a reason to; if I decide to continue on to my Master's I would definitely do it through Ashford
I wouldn't suggest this school for an associate's degree, as those are cheaper through local community colleges and gives you an idea of what you want to do before investing so much money, but for bachelor's and above, I would absolutely recommend Ashford University

This is a terrible school! I have had several issues with them through out my timeI took the online classes they offeredThe classes are weeks long and unless you ask for a break once one ends the next one startsOn several occasions I needed a break from schoolI am a single father and I do it all alone so when I need a break its because my son stuff is put firstAnyways I asked for a month off from my adviser who said that was the longest I could take a break before he would have to go higher up to get a longer breakSo I said OKThe school is for profitAfter a week of my break I started to get calls from the school saying I was going to get dropped if I didn't post in my classIt is impossible to post in a class if I was not in one because I am on a breakI got called everydayweeks go by and I am told my class is startingAgain impossible I was told by my adviser I could have the time offI saved all my emails and sure of enough I sent them back to the schoolThey did not really seem to careTurns out that if I took the month break like I wanted they would not get my loan money till the following month so instead they cut my break short and started my class again but did not tell me till the day my class startedI would not recommend this school to anyoneThey care all about the money and not about the student successI have tried several times to get my transcripts from them but because I owe them money they will not even give me my own transcripts so if I wanted to leave to go to another school I would have to start completely over againDO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!

I started BUSon November 17, and I was doing fine in the class (this was a tough class but I was managing and working hard) up until the last assignment
For some reason I received a zero on my final assignment which caused me to fail the classThe professor stated that my final assignment was a zero due to plagarismThe reason that I am so upset about this is because if you look at my track record through my MBA program, you will see that I had straight As, and a GPAI am a honor student and I work extremely hard with all of my classesI was willing to accept maybe a "B" grade because I admit that this professor was very hard, but I had tough professors before where I just dug in and stayed up exceptionally late to complete my classes, but to give me a "F" because the professor accused me of plagarism is completely hurtful towards my work ethic
I would never copy anyone's assignment and I take education and originality very seriousI proceeded t

This university refused to accept payment for an outstanding balance based on that fact that I would not speak with *** *** a community specialist with Ashford UniversityIn my opinion this is a fraudulent charge & the university has no valid premise for it's actionsI was told I could pay it then that I could notThey sent the charges to a third party collection agency were it can accrue interestIn want the university to forget the balance and restore my eligibility

I started going to Ashford University for my education needs August 2015, I liked their school because it was online and I was able to fit it in with my work scheduleI wasn't able to get financial aid right away because I had student loans and they were in defaultAfter dealing with department of education I was able to take it out of default because I had set up a payment plan
Since I wasn't able to get a pell grant I used my Dads VA benefits, I received an email from *** *** in september stating I have VA benefits and my classes were coveredNovember I get an email from *** *** stating VA has been denied and I need to change my payment option formAt this point I already have a balance now for the classes that Im taking and nothing to back it upI was told by numerous people in the financial aid office that they need me to submit supporting documents(which I did) if I still wanted to get financial aid
I told *** that I already submitted

I graduated in with my Bachelor's Degree and had a great experience from my initial phone call to completion 99% of the professors I had were great I have nothing bad to report other then a huge debt which is common for most schools

I became a student in August of and have had nothing but problems right from the start From getting enrolled to financial aid...it was a nightmare I have had enrollment specialists in months, each losing vital paperwork to get me enrolled and on my way I have had academic advisors already and still no information gets passed along I have also had a LOT of problems with financial aid I received an award letter stating my amounts I got the first set of disbursements but after talking to my about switching my schedule a little bit she messed something up and now there is no financial aid award for my 2nd group of week classes This school is a disaster!!!!

My compliant deals with classroom issues and Instructor at Ashford University OnlineI'm a graduate student and plan to graduate this year in MayHowever, the problem began in the leadership classThe first time I noticed an issue was in my first discussion postI emailed the instructor to express I was complying with guidelines of Ashford University, but I received a reply back to academic policyI have never experience this type of behavior before at Ashford inside the classroomI followed rules of using turnitin, and seem this process is not performing professionally with assignment workI even quote references which used have already been recognized through turnitin
Although I did reach out to the advisor, and express that this instructor or I aren’t seeing things clearlyNo how I work to correct the problem, are create new ways of solving issues, the instructor had a problem, and show behavior of you do it exactly my or know wayOne thing; I can be taught from way of

I recently submitted an issue I’m having with Ashford University that I attended from 1-12-and withdrew/transferred on 5-3/during that period I received credit hours that I transferred to American Intercontinental University, and all credits were reviewed and accepted on 5-23-I officially requested Ashford University to forward a copy of my transcripts to the Law School Admission Council and was told that I have a hold placed on my student account for unpaid tuitionI never heard of anything regarding this balance owed to Ashford universityNot to mentioned they obviously forwarded my official transcripts when I transferred, and I was on financial aid, and student loans whichI’m in good-standingFast forward I’m scheduled to graduate this summer and have recently applied to continue my educational goals of attending law school As a result, the law school admission council is requesting an official copy of that institution who now claims that I owe them money I contacted Nelnet and FASFA and I’m in good standing and still receive my financial aid Interesting note conveyed to me by FASFA is that they see I indicated Ashford University as a school choice However, no aid was ever distributed during my academic term, and it’s likely a result of the school not requesting the paymentNonetheless, can a university that I attended years agoBut, transferred out into another university that I’m now graduating from this summer withhold sending my transcripts to Law school admission council? Ashland university collection department stated that they no longer service this debt and instructed me to contact their third-party servicer *** & *** a collection agencyI will do no such thing as this would solidify my admission to the assumed debt obligationTherefore, I sent them a certified letter in compliance with FDCPA rule section to verify this debt within days outlining my contractual agreement with them on 3-17- Is there anything I can do moving forward to have my official transcript released and submitted to LSAC?
Lastly, I checked the credit bureau, and nothing shows on my credit file It sounds like to me Ashford University didn’t properly reconcile their recordsBecause I would hardly think that if student owes you $6,it wouldn’t take years to make contact after my official request to forward transcripts

I attended Ashford University from November to February 2013, in the beginning I was scammedThis college is a JOKE! Never ever attend this university unless you want to be screwed up the BUTTI did everything I was suppose to and by the time I stopped attending I was credits away from a Bachelors degreeI called and made the arrangements to finish at the local community college near me and was going to transfer those credits to Ashford to receive my degreeBUT low and beyond they say I owe 1,dollars and they didn't not get the transcripts I mailed weeks earlier and they will not award me my degree or diploma till I pay the money backHowever, the money was paid in I have emails to prove it and when I tried to call and address the situation they hung up on meSo I am reporting them here and I am writing a letter to the President expressing my disappointment with this collegeI will NEVER EVER give them a good recommendationThey are the WORST university everI have sent emails after emails and even my husband called and they do not reply back and they are rude and awful people

I would leave zero stars if I could!! I enrolled with Ashford during the 2017-school yearI was so excited to be able to go to classes online, and was really pleased with the grades I receivedIn the beginning, I was thrilled, everything seemed wonderfulI was an it for believing thatIn May of I received a call from the financial department and they told me that I did not qualify for a loan to pay for the class THAT I HAD JUST TURNED IN MY FINAL FORWhy would they wait until I finished the class to tell me? The woman asked me to pay nearly $4,out of pocket or she could not allow me to continue at the school(I am years old and do not happen to just have $4,sitting in my bank account, so I had to drop classes.) A good friend of mine recently started working for a different university in the registrar departmentShe pulled my report for me — where I was able to see for the first time that for every $2,I was approved in financial aid toward Ashford, only $1,was being added toward my tuitionASHFORD POCKETED 50% OF MY STUDENT LOANS, THEN had the audacity to bill me personally a second time for the amount that they had already taken for themselves! After I unenrolled as a student, my academic advisor told me that they did not owe me anything as a student - current or former - until I paid the outstanding balance on my accountFor this reason, they will not release my transcriptsI AM TRAPPED now because I cannot apply to any other university BECAUSE ASHFORD STOLE MY MONEYThis last week, the day before Thanksgiving, Ashford sent me to collections for this outstanding money that I DO NOT OWE THEMAttending Ashford University may be the biggest regret I haveI am fighting this all the way

It has been approximately year since I have withdrawn from AshfordAfter several attempts of re-entry, I was denied due to an "accrued debt" that I could not pay in the amount of $2,The exact words of my re-entry counselor *** *** were, "This balance would need to either be paid in full OR you can set up monthly payment arrangements instead
The arrangements would need to be finalized and the first payment received prior to your returnIn addition, since we do not have the information from the 15/FAFSA yet which means that I cannot calculate in Pell Grant, it looks like you would have a shortfall in this AY as well in the amount of $2,011.95"My main complaint is that I do not understand how my bill is calculated, the amounts in which I was charged, and how much financial aid actually paid
I am absolutely sure that I was over-charged for many of my coursesI am unsure how Ashford can deny my re-entry and then expect paymentThey will not

Ashford University is the WORST "university" ever The administration is absolutely incompetent, staff is inept, and the "professors" do not even know the coursework and constantly show their bias and prejudice The curriculum is worthless, archaic, and nothing but liberal propaganda and lies I wish I could take back the last years of my life and get my degree from an honorable university
