This place damaged our car during the towing process. Not only were we charged an excessive amount for the tow, but the employees were rude. They hid behind the window in their trailer and would not even come out to look at the damage. They just wanted their cash. By the way, this happened on New Year's eve when the business parking spot (where I was towed) was assumed to be closed anyway. Car was towed 5 minutes after parking my vehicle which indicates to me that there was somebody paid in a near by car to watch for violators. How do I know this? Because there were several of us who live in Kapolei rendering huge sumsof money to pick up our cars and it was from the same parking lot. The owner of this parking lot is getting a kick back, I guarantee. This is a scam. And the VIP towing people are in it. I will be reporting next on the owner of the parking lot. Ya, Happy New Year.

I am rejecting this response because: again sir, why are you not addressing the over charges, that's my complaint . The law clearly states how much you can charge . Your driver charged $300 and said cash only . Even though he towed my car 3 miles. My friend recorded the entire event . Do you know the law states that you must accept cash or credit card . Your driver said cash only . I have your driver also on tape standing behind the building waiting on me to pull in and 2 min later he told my car even though he saw me pull up . It's all on tape and I will submit it to small claims court and the judge can decide .if you want to allow your workers to tell you something that's not true. If your driver told you he went in [redacted] , that's a flat out lie . If you want I can send you the recording . I know your trying to protect your company and I understand that but your employees were engaging in unethical behavior . I've already spoken to the building manager . If your so confident in what they are telling you ,ask them was a [redacted] cup in the car ? I went through drive though , order something from [redacted] and parked in the parking lot and walked over to the gym . The sign said three hour parking . I was there 10 minutes before my car was towed . Is that against the law . The bottom line we can settle this now or I can get my lawyers involved to sue you and the building manager for hiring your company .
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I do apologize if you feel like it's a scam, when you arrived at [redacted], you parked and walked onto the other property, the par[redacted] lot attendant also warned you, we have signs posted on the whole property but you ignored it. The property next to us has a high...

volume of customers which doesn't accommodate their customers with parking, which causes people to park below at [redacted]. The property is for whomever is going to [redacted], dental image or dialysis. You said you was going to [redacted] and yes you did but that's after you found out you were towed. Your receipt was after the tow time, it's hear say, this is a civil matter you would have to take us to court (hear, say). I'm sorry if you felt we were rude, I believe we weren't rude to you.

I am rejecting this response because:The law states that if you arrive on  scene before they leave . The driver must disconnect with no fee. VIP isnt above the law.

From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, March 12, 2017 1:06 PM To: Lisa Nakao <[email protected]> Subject: [redacted]-UPDATED   Hello, I apologize that you felt you were being overcharged. From my understanding, the driver had bought back the vehicle to you in order to help save you time and also in finding a way to the yard.   Technically, you weren't being overcharged. If you had gone to the yard, your cost would have been $242.50. But as your car was already hooked up and on it's way to the yard, he was charging you $250.00 for the extra mile that he would have to add on for turning around to bring the vehicle to you. So $242.50 plus the $7.50 per mile total comes out to $250.00.   I do apologize for how you felt but there is no scam. So for now our drivers are to bring all vehicles back to the yard even if the owner has no ride in order for us to run into this problem.   In addition, the parking by Burger King is only for 30 minutes for customers of Burger King. Patients at Dental Image and Renal, which is dialysis, the 3 hour parking is on the other property Halekuia not ours. Our property is 24hrs reserved for the 3 areas that I have stated.

Their vehicle was towed because they went off property, came down to the yard screaming and yelling because we wouldn't release the vehicle because it was in companies name which they couldn't show any documents. At the same time her husband called to speak with a manager which was me and stated...

that he was off island and how could he show proof to get the vehicle. He stated it's a family business, which has multiple families that own the company too. Cops did get called because they were causing a commotion at the yard with her boyfriend, and her husband on the phone line with me. There was no one drinking from our company, there is more than one company on this lot, people were watching because what was happening.

I'm sorry you felt you got ripped of on the milage but here is what our drivers go off of.

I do apologize if you feel that we are stealing cars at [redacted] we have a signed contract with the owner of this property, when your vehicle was towed it was a legal tow which we also cleared it with HPD before removing vehicle. Our parking lot attendant witness [redacted] and other female...

party park and walk off property and walked to property next to this property which they visited [redacted]. He never visited any of the businesses where he parked, only when he found out that he got towed then he decided to make a order at [redacted].  He was so rude screaming yelling swearing at us, he stated to us that he was in [redacted] the whole time but now he tells you that he went to the other property. When he got to the yard the dispatcher had asked him for his current registration because the one he provided was expired, then he started screaming yelling and swearing at us and he tried pulling off the booth from the tire, we had to escort him off of property closed the gate and informed him to call the police. They parked at 10:37am we cleared vehicle at 10:54am logged vehicle at 10:57am, driver was off property on the public road restrapping the tires because it was too loose. So when they returned and noticed vehicle was towed, they walked into [redacted] to order something so they could say they were customers, there receipt for [redacted] was at 11:14am, not knowing the vehicle was cleared with HPD before being a customer. While receiving there order that's when [redacted] noticed his car on tow truck, he went to run after the tow truck but tow truck is off property prior to [redacted] seeing his vehicle. By law in Sec HRS 290-11 we are to drop vehicle if registered owner returns to vehicle before going off property, in this case driver was already off the property this was a legal tow.

VIP Towing has not responded, replied or contacted me in any manner. VIP Towing is a dishonest business at the minimum.
