Review: I noticed a facebook posting about a friend who had purchased a $100.00 gift card for his wife on valentine's day from this store. She went to use it and it was declined. He went to the store to notify them and they called the cops on his and he was publicly humiliated in the store and had to prove he was purchased the card. After reading the post I was shaken and I too purchased a $100.00 visa card on 2/14/2014 between 5-6PM. I checked the card and after opening the packing noticed it had a barcode on top of the physical card. After calling visa and confirming the card was an old card and had already been used, I went down to the store. This was the worst mistake of m life. The assistant manger and supervisor were rude and condescending. Took the card I was showing them, told me no way did it happen but they will go check. I tried calling the police to explain what happened, when the police showed, the told me the store said I was attempting to use a fraudulent card. I NEVER attempted the use the card. I asked them what can we do. I told them to pull all of the cards because I know this is the second report they have had on it. They told me they have zero responsibility for these cards and will not reimburse or help contact visa. I also noticed they went to the card stand and were pulling the back of the cards off to see if there were any others, I walked over and told them they had to open the package all the way. She ignored my recommendation and again proceeded to tell me they have no responsibility for these cards. These two managers were telling other employees I was a scam artist, I know because some of them came out of the back room and told me. After posting on FB I found anther this happened to who also reported it back in December. Vons has done nothing. you managers should be trained better to handle such a situation. I am so disappointed in the way we were treated and the gossiping that happened in the store. That they will not replace the card for any reason. They should also inform the customer of that at the time of purchase. They should open every gift card they sell, completely out of the package and validate it. I would like the proof from the register of my receipt of purchase, and the video of me purchasing the card. I would also like an apology for the way I was treat.

I am rejecting this response because:

All of my complaints have not been addressed. I did received contact from the store manager and did received my money back. I also received an apology from the store manager. I do not see how this will be prevented in the future. I also have no assurance the assistant manager received any type of disciplinary action for the way I and others were treated. This has happened to others at the same store. I also have not been contacted by anyone in the corporate office to officially say they will provide training so every store employee is aware of the corporate policy with regards to fraudulent gif cards. Oh and maybe an apology from corporate, some acknowledgement that this was handled very badly. I was not just turned away, I was hassled by police officers the store called on me.
