Total lack of responsibility
On 4 previous Fridays in August, 2020 their truck buzzed thru our neighborhood picking up garbage from their customers—some but not all. Our trash then sat at the curb intil late Saturday until they finally arrived to pick up our garbage. This is without ANY communication from Waste Industries Zip. Zero. Nada. This past week I put our garbage at the curb on Thursday night, September 3rd. Friday arrived, our scheduled pickup day. Their truck then buzzed thru our neighborhood again making random stops. In fact, they stopped at my neighbor’s house across the street and took his garbage. And his trash company is Evergreen! WTF? So I left voicemails and emails with Waste Industries. And my garbage remained at the curb all day Saturday, September the 5th. They never appeared. They never called, texted or responded by email. Today is September the 8th and we have not received ANY form of communication, let alone an apology or reasonable explanation for their abject failure to address our problem. It’s time for the Delaware Attorney General to look into their failures. I can’t believe that I am the only customer whom they treat like s[protected]. We are looking into other residential waste haulers. Their new brand GFL should be re-named GFN —Good For Nothing! Absolute Reptiles!

Waste Industries get a big fat 0 from me. For the past 2 weeks the driver has been taking trash out of my can and leaving it beside the road. I called to inquire why this is happening and the guy said if the lid won't close then that will happen. My response was, if the dummy can get out of the truck to take it out of the trash can, then he can also throw it in the truck. First you say they will not pick trash up off of the ground, now you want take trash if it's stacked to high. From what I understand, I'm paying you for your services. I will now look to see if any other company offer trash collection services in Durham.

I usually have a positive experience with Waste Industries and have received service from them for over three years. For the past few months, their service has been sloppy as you can see on the attached picture. They have been leaving our trash can in the street of our subdivision. They also have been leaving small box instead of taking them. If they are no longer allowed to take small boxes (was not aware of any change) as shown on the picture, then they should at least be respectful and leave them stacked neatly near our mailbox, which is how we set them out for trash. Instead, they have left them thrown in the yard and street several times over the past few months...UNACCEPTABLE! Also, I understand that they are now leaving the trash cans open after they empty them, but they also need to reconsider changing their policy according to the weather. If rain is predicted, it would be respectful and make more sense for them to consider closing the lid so that the can does not fill with water.

Switch of service to this provider:
Lack of notification that recycling would be extra and outsourced to a different company.
In addition, there is a paper bill fee so all bills are handled online. My main issue is with notifications on billing. I signed up for auto-pay and put in the shortened version of the bank number (I now know it is usually 9-12 digits). I have been charged two late fees, as it took me to log on to my account to realize the payments were not going through. Even though I received two emails stating that payments were received. In addition, phone based communications with this service will take some time. Service quality is fine, although at this point I am only signed up for trash service. However, online and billing needs a lot of work. I would recommend just using the online chat if you have any issues.

I would NOT recommend this company for trash pick up. Delay after delay in picking up our trash even after contacting them. We never experienced this kind of poor service before WI took over our local trash company.

This all began four years and five months ago when I transferred service to my new address. The lady I spoke to agreed that Waste Industries had bought ADM, that I was one of their customers, and that I did not need a new can. Waste Industries left a can on my property anyway and charged me $35 for it. I paid the full amount to get trash pickup started.

I called Waste Industries phone number in Texas and got transferred from one person to another for what seemed like hours before I finally got to talk to someone. I explained to her the situation. She offered an apology and told me that the $35 would be refunded and someone would be out to pick up the can. I asked her if she could send correspondence regarding my complaint and her resolution to my address. I like to have all pending transactions on paper. She said that she would and she did. I’m still waiting for the refund. The can is still here. I still have the correspondence she mailed to me. It is stored in a friend’s bank box so it can never be lost.

I sent a message to Waste Industries last week. I informed them that I would not be renewing service when the quarter is up. I also told them that I still have the correspondence and advised them to the contents of that correspondence. I told them that I would use that correspondence against them in court if the can was taken after my service with them had ended.

You wouldn’t expect a corporation to act like a child, yet that is what Waste Industries did. A lady from the Stockbridge GA office sent me a message stating that she had ended services at my address. I’m still paid for three pickups before the quarter is up. No doubt I will never receive a refund for those three weeks. I will consider the money stolen.

Thanks for your email today concerning my complaint [redacted] You mentioned that Waste Industries had not responded to my complaint, and that you’ve...

closed the case.  However, in all fairness to Waste Industries, they did in fact call me as soon as they heard that I had filed a complaint with Revdex.com. That should probably be reflected in the complaint file.  It took a lot of arguing with them, but they finally agreed to stop billing me for the receptacles I had not requested nor was in possession of, and enlisted my help in finding out who actually had them.  I gave them the information they needed, but frankly I don’t know if they ever acted on it. They seem in general to be quick to bill people improperly when an issue like this comes up and slow to do actual leg-work to solve the problem.  
 
Thank you very much for your help in resolving this matter, and for the work you do to keep the business community responsive and responsible for their actions.

For residential curbside collection services, we bill quarterly in advance, as is customary in the waste business. Each invoice states the following: “There will be no proration of billing and you will not be entitled to a refund...

if service is cancelled during a billing cycle. You will remain responsible for all charges, fees and taxes through the end of the billing cycle (including the period between the notice of termination and the end of the billing cycle).” Each resident makes a three month commitment to us when he or she sends in the quarterly check in accordance with the invoice. Worst disposal company in the area... repeated missed pick ups.. plus refusal to accept "Any" additional trash bags that are not inside the 96 gallon can they provide.. They do not refund prorated cancellation fees. I personally will be switching to Waste Management, which is cheaper and will pick up 4 additional trash bags per week. This is a perfect option for those who occasionally have more then 96 gallons of trash per week. Waste Industries thanks for robbing me of 90 bucks enjoy it and I hope your quarterly sales continue to decline. #wastemanagementrocks

My name is Johnetta Robinson and I have been a customer for almost 5 years. I reside at 6699 Mancha Street, College Park 30349. Recently I had a very bad experience with my weekly trash collection. I normally place my trash bin at the curb on Sunday night for pickup. Due to the holiday, my trash was heavier than normal, since all three of my grandbabies celebrated Christmas with me this year and the fact that we had a party Christmas Eve. I place my trash out at the curb Christmas Day because pickup was delayed until Tuesday. I had three white bags, the green can and some boxes that contained toy trains sets, and go-carts. The green can was picked up by your people but they left the bags. I did not complain that time. I put the bags back in the garage and of course more trash accumulated, Leave fell, and rain. I again place all bagged trash and the container back at the curb again for pick up January 1 (due to the holiday). Again, they emptied the green container and did not take the bags. I also had some wooden chairs by the curb. I now know that you all do not take furniture and that is fine. I put the bags and the chairs back in my garage.

By now, the bags have begun to tear due to being drug back and forth. I thought I was doing the right thing by rebagging the trash in some Hefty due black contractor bags along with some plastic totes and broken toys, your typical household waste. I also had a brown lawn and leaf bag that was full with leaves from the curb. I neatly sat it all at the curb for pick up on January 8, 2018. My daughter called me that same day and said that they emptied the bin but didn’t take the bags.
Here is where I get pissed. I called your company and asked why the bags were not picked up.
First lie I was told was that you all only pick up kitchen trash bags.
Second lie was you all don’t pick up black trash bags.
Third lie lawn bags are 4 dollars per bag.

At that point, I did not care; I just wanted it all gone. I told the CSR to please send someone, I do not care what the cost. She said she was dispatching someone to come and that they would be there within 24 hours. I waited. On Wednesday, I called back because they did not come and I was told someone was coming. No one came. I called back on Thursday, January 11 and I was told someone would be out by 7pm. I got home at 10:00 and there were still back and boxes along with a full green bin still sitting at the curb. It looked like somebody had taken maybe two or three bags. [removed] was scattered everywhere.
I am pissed and the rain is pouring I go back in the house get more bags; fold the boxes up because they are soaked. Force the boxes and maybe five big bags in my Audi coupe, found a dumpster in some apartments, and dumped the trash. I rolled the full bin back to the side of the house.
This morning, Friday January 12, 2018 your worker showed up to my house at about 8:15 looking for the remaining trash. I had already dumped it, however I did get him to empty the green bin and take one kitchen bag of trash. All of this because somebody was too damn sorry to throw a few bags on a 3 ton trash truck. This is the worst service I have ever received as a customer. I am attaching a photo of the trash that could have very well been picked up on Monday. It was all neatly bags and ready. This was all the trash that needed to go. Your driver has a photo of what he left after he said he was only able to take very little. Sadly, there was much difference in his photo and mine.

Don't understand why my trash didn't get picked up by waist industries! 8-8-17 it was pushed out to street before daylight

Review: I paid the Waste Industries quaterly in advance for their service. I had to cancel their service due to an anounced increase in the service of 22%. They will not refund my money for the 2 month I will not be using their servive. Plaese help.
