Weather Tight Corporation Reviews (42)

We had our siding done by Weather Tight. Their siding consultant was very helpful in helping us choose the right siding for our home. There was no sales pressure. Their workmanship was excellent. Our home exterior went from being the worst looking on the block to the best on the block.
I am a former property damage appraiser and I can tell you the crew did an excellent job and installed the siding and trim by manufacturer specs.

Just completed my fourth Weather Tight purchase (windows and roofing among 2 properties), and have always been satisfied with their products and support of same. Highly recommended!

I had new gutters and downspouts installed. My experience with everyone at the company was excellent and efficient.

Review: I had windows installed in my home. I purchased the "top of the line" windows to avoid any issues. I have had cold leaking windows. They came to check on the situation when I called. I was told that the insulation on the bottom section of the window was cut too short & on an angle which was causing a bad seal. The repair person did not have enough weather striping to repair all of the windows & told me it was on back order & he would have to return when they received more. I called back a couple weeks later I had not heard back from them. This time they sent out 2 repair people. I was told the latches on the windows were not properly sealed & they would apply silicone caulk to all of the latches. They were also going to caulk around the windows but the caulk they brought was frozen & I was told they would return to complete the repairs. They did not return so I called again & was told they would send a supervisor to investigate. I was told by the supervisor the windows did have problems from the factory but that the repairs would take care of any issues & the windows were performing properly. I was told I needed to increase the insulation around the windows. Why was this not done when they were installed? I still have not had a repair person come back to complete the repairs. I believe I was given defective, seconds, windows. I was told by the repair persons that the factory was probably busy & rushed & mistakes are made, but they would repair. I did not purchase new windows tohave them repaired to make them functional.Desired Settlement: They can come get there windows & I will go to a reputable company for my windows.

Weather Tight has contacted Mrs. [redacted] and resolved her challenges as stated in her complaint. On 2/25/2014- our [redacted]), as well as [redacted] of the company ([redacted]), went to Mrs. [redacted] home. During the visit, they replaced the weather stripping that was cut short at the factory, applied sealant to the underside of the keeper sash where air was leaking through the weep system, as well as applied a clear latex sealant to the interior seam where the window frame meets the interior wood stops. Mrs. [redacted] informed [redacted] that she felt the matter was handled and is satisfied with the result.

Have had nothing but great service. 2 door installations. Whenever I have had a problem they are prompt in responding. Only have had one issue and it was fixed quickly.

Weather Tight did the roof to our home and Garage. The crew that worked there did extensive damage to our entire East, South and West side of our house siding. They never tarped anything off. They put the chimney flashing on incorrectly, ripped a screen in our window, broke a spray nozzle and pounded nails into out front yard tree.
There were shingles in my flower beds. Also, forced their way into out garage-that was locked and did not have permission to enter. We spent $10,000 for a professional company to come and do this and it was a nightmare. Sloppy. horribly done. I advise anyone and everyone NOT to go with Weather Tight. Who knows who they are having contacted to come to your home!!

I contacted Weather Tight via an online form for a quote on new windows and siding for my house and garage.I received a call from a representative later in the day but was unable to answer. The business continued to call me 3 times a day for the next week disturbing my vacation. I answered multiple times and asked them to communicate with me through email since I did not have information with me on vacation and would be able to respond more easily through email. They ignored my request and continued to harass me each day.
Once I was able to set up an appointment, a salesperson [redacted] came to my house for measurements. He was a very kind and charismatic salesperson, and before he left we set up a follow-up appointment in the showroom for him to give his sales pitch. When I got to the showroom, [redacted] presented me and my fiance with a very strong sales pitch. When we told him that we were not going to sign that evening, and we only wanted the numbers so we could go home and plug them into our budget, he completely changed his tune. He got very short with us, and criticized us for not signing right away. He tried virtually every sales tactic in the book, and would not let us leave. He acted as though we were making a personal attack on him in order to guilt us into signing. He tried to isolate me from my fiance thinking that I would be more likely to cave. He claimed that we would not be able to get the same discounts if we did not sign that same day, even though once he let us leave he said that he would extend the discounts. Although we had been very enthusiastic about the company at the beginning of the sales pitch, [redacted] pushiness and rudeness started to turn us off of the company.
We left that day with another appointment set up to sign in a few days after we thought about it, and he told us to call if we decided to not go through with it. We determined that we would not need to have the project done for another year, so we called to ask if he would keep our information on file so that we could sign next year. He became very argumentative and rude. He complained that we made him wait for us, although we called before the appointment time. Although I was at work at the time, he continued to give me a hard time and would not let me off the phone. By the time I hung up, [redacted] unprofessional and belittling demeanor, as well as the company's excessive phone calls and high-pressure sales had convinced me that I have no desire to work with Weather Tight. If the product and workmanship is as good as they claim to be, there would be no reason to pressure someone so extensively to sign on the same day.

We are a satisfied Weather Tight customer. We have had our windows replaced along with a front door with side lights and a storm door. They are a great company to deal with in all aspects from sales through job completion/inspection. The installation team is very professional and thorough. We have had friends/neighbors become customers after seeing our improvements.

On July 14 - 16 a crew from Weather Tight was at our home installing new windows and patio doors. The guys were very friendly and very professional in their work. THey Came when scheduled and had the entire job done in 2 1/2 days.
We are very happy with the Weather Tight Product and the installation. Also Steve took the time to demonstrate to me how all of the doors and windows worked. These new windows and doors will be a big improvement to our home.

This is my 3rd experience using Weather Tight for windows and an entry door and I am extremely pleased with their service and products. With other companies I have received estimates from, Weather Tight beats the others hands down for quality. The salesperson I worked with was the best and I received an excellent deal. There is more work I need done and I intend on having them back. Their installers are very experienced and do an excellent job of cleaning up when finished. I have had a few minor issues, but they get resolved. I am treated with respect and their staff has gone out of their way to work with me. I highly recommend Weather Tight to anyone. Don't waste time or money with inferior products - its not worth it!

Review: I signed a contract and secured a loan on 4/2015 with WeatherTight for the following installation services:

1. Four doors

2. One window

Following multiple visits by several WT staff to measure and correct initial and subsequent measures, hardware ordered, and ect - no doors or window. I called multiple times to no avail. Thursday, August 20 I receive a call from the loan area informing me time had run out on my initial loan request and I was instructed to call to renew it. I called and was yet again forced to leave a message that indicated my displeasure with their company as well as my refusal to renew a loan after waiting nearly five months. I wrote a check in the amount of $200.00 dollars that I want immediately refunded.Desired Settlement: Refund of $200.00 dollars and my experience with this company shared with other consumers.

Response:

Weather Tight's contract with this customer commenced on 4/24/15 and the completion date is on or before 9/24/15. At the time of sale, we connected them with a lender to finance their job. The lender is independent of our organization, and their initial financing expires after 4 months. This customer was frustrated that the job was not completed prior to their financing expiring, however this is independent of our contract with the customer. Due to customer privacy enforced by the financier, we cannot extend the financing on the customer's behalf. Since submitting their Revdex.com complaint, this customer has called their financier and extended the timeframe of their loan. Again, this is not something Weather Tight has any control over. We are still on pace to fulfill our contract, as initially written, with the customer. I have attached a copy of the original contract showing the dates indicating that this customer is still under contract with Weather Tight.

I will contact the State Agencies you have recommended to assist with the investigation of their unethical business practices.

We are very happy with our windows done by Weather Tight. Our installers were professional, expedient and very friendly. Their work was of high quality. It has been a positive experience all around.

We recently had all of our windows replaced (13 windows). At first Todd one of the owners was all about us, he would call and email almost every day trying to get us to get our house done by them. we were promised the job would only take 3 days and also they didn't contract out and it would be their company doing the installation, all of which was a lie! the first group of guys we met came over to measure our windows. we were promised that the measurements were correct and then we never saw them again. after 3 months of waiting for our windows to be finished, they finally called and told us that they were ready to schedule a few days to come and install them. when they showed up only two new guys that we have never met came to the door and said they were our crew, after some talk with the "foreman" we found out that they are actually contracted out and not really apart of the company. we let them start on our house, all started well they got half the house done in one day with only two guys, I will say I was impressed. they left at around 4 that day. They next day they came back 5 minutes late but they had two more crew members with them. when I went outside to greet them they were smoking cigarettes in my drive way. they put out the cigarettes as soon as they saw me. after a quick hi they started on my house. after about 2 hours of their start time I noticed that the foreman was on his personal cell phone for some time. he came and got me after about 3 hours from their start time, he said that he had a problem when I walked back into my house he told me that the wood trim that is apart of my house (on the inside) was all broken and they had to take it off. realistically they just didn't care when they were demoing my house and just tore it off, he told us that he could make it look just like it did but let me just tell you it look so terrible and now its an eye sore. also we had a window built up so they told us that they would put dry wall in the interior and on the exterior they were going to match our siding, our exterior has been exposed now for 1.5 months because they didn't order enough siding. all of our windows are perfect expect for two. these two sit about 9 feet off the ground and go all the way to the ceiling. we were promised those windows were measured correctly and would be installed as well. the last day the crew was here they were about to install the higher windows when the the foreman finally remeasured them and found out that they were 6in to tall and 3in to wide, it wouldn't work. he told us that they would try to get it fix as fast as they could but it has been almost two months and we finally just got a call that they were done. the last day the crew was here the foreman didn't even do a walk throw with me, he also stopped work at 3 that day and let everyone go home when the work wasn't even done! the foreman kept trying to collect money from me when the work wasn't even done yet how unprofessional! so I did my own walk threw and the windows looked great there is one lock that doesn't seam to work but that's not here or there for now. the one thing that totally got under my skin was the abundance of cigarette butts all over my yard and the fact that we had to pick up all of THEIR trash (that's not my job). after they left and I found all of this I tried to call and email Todd he still to this day will not respond to me. then I got a call from their bank which I though was all settled but they told that I had to renew everything again because the job wasn't finished that means I had to run my credit again! after some talking with the lady from their bank we found out that they were charging us 9% a day, a day are you kidding me! I tried to call Todd back to see if that was really true and also to tell him about everything going on and how unhappy I was with my experience but he didn't answer any of my calls or emails. I finally get a call back from Mary or Forest (these two are the only ones that will talk to me) they told that they couldn't get a hold of Todd so I expressed my disappointment with the company to them, they told me that they were trying to get a hold of Todd but he wasn't calling them back either. I am so incredibility disappointed with this company. how unprofessionally for the owner to not even care about his jobs. I would NEVER tell anyone to go through this company. if I could go back in time and pick I different company I differently would! I have already told a coworker to never get their roof done by them.

I was ashamed of what I received through Weather Tight. I was recently quoted ($2,970.00) for them to replace my front entry door. One day later, a gentleman named [redacted] calls me and asks how I felt about my quote from their salesperson [redacted]. I informed them I thought that the quote was really expensive, but [redacted] arrived on time, was professional and a nice person. [redacted] thanked me for my time and the phone call was over. Two days after the initial quote, I received a pressing phone call from [redacted] again, he informed me that [redacted] personally took an interest in my quote and wanted to personally come out to my home and reevaluate the quote in an attempt to make a stronger offer. I agreed to entertain Weather Tight (WT) again during my personal time. On the day of my appointment with [redacted], I called WT to cancel my appointment with [redacted]. My phone call was immediately transferred to [redacted] (I made no reference, in my cancellation, of this [redacted] character). [redacted] answered the phone and was like, "hello, what's this regarding?" I re-explained my situation and my reasonining. But, [redacted] was very adament that [redacted] was going to deliver a better offer. We even moved my 9-mth pregnant wife's doctor appt to consider [redacted]. At ten minutes prior to our scheduled appointment time, a white Taurus pulls into my driveway. I answer the door and an employee from WT was there, whose name was [redacted]. I stopped in my tracks and asked him where [redacted] was. [redacted] informed me that [redacted] was not in that day. I was upset but still let [redacted] inside. [redacted] had no clue regarding my phone calls to [redacted] or what my previous quote even was. I was not upset with [redacted], he was a nice guy just doing what WT requested of him. [redacted] wrote us a quote that was HIGHER than the one offered to us by [redacted], claiming that "WT would not have been able to honour [redacted] quote as it was too low...".

This [redacted] character at their main office in West Allis completely lost my trust in WT. I cannot believe that I lost more than an hour and a half of my personal time only to have been lied to blatantly. [redacted] probably never intended on stopping out at my home. In addition, [redacted] ensured me that [redacted] only wanted 20 min of my time. When [redacted] showed up, he took 35min of it.

No thanks to WT on 9/11 attempting to swindle a war veteran. How unethical, unprofessional and unpatriotatic.

We used Weathertight for gutter guard, a new roof , windows and new fire proof security entrance door. They may not be the cheapest to do business with, but, by far they are the BEST. Remember, you get what you pay for. They offer a phenomenal warranty on the products and labor, their sales people are trustworthy and very thorough with product explanations and installers are meticulous. I would definitely recommend the for all your home needs. Our next project in the future will be new siding.

Last week my wife and I had 4 doors installed in our home in Oak Creek , 2 storm doors and 2 entry doors . We are very , very pleased with them . Our old doors had faulty weather stripping and allowed cold air to come into our house . With Weather Tight's new doors , our installer [redacted] , made absolutely sure that there would be no air coming through and our new doors are very nice looking and made of the highest quality .

Another feature that sold us on our new

doors is Weather Tight's 3 point locking mechanism which provides great security . The door's when locked , engage 3 separate locks that not only provide security, but at the same time it brings the door's snug up against the weather stripping providing a tight seal all around the door's .

Another thing that I wish to point out , is our installer [redacted] installed our backdoor's when the weather was a minus 25 degrees below zero wind chill , my hat's off to [redacted] for enduring such bitter weather. The next day though he called us to ask to reschedule the front door due to both the same coldness and he was ill as well and my wife and I had no problem in waiting an extra day or two . Poor [redacted] came out on saturday when it was only 15 degrees outside and it snowed ! Yet he soldiered on so to speak to finish our front door's .

We recommend Weather Tight to anyone

looking for Professional Installation and the Absolute Highest Quality in both Workmanship and Quality product . I will say the price of our door's was in my estimation abit more then I had wanted to pay , but after seing how they look and operate in a energy efficent manner , they're worth it !

I love the windows and my tech guys [redacted] and [redacted] did a great job!

I've made four purchases with Weather Tight over recent year (two properties, windows & roof), and have always had a great experience.

Never any add-on charges, even with conditions arose during installation that had to be handled, which I really respect and appreciate. For example, when I had my roof replaced, adding 4 or 5 new soffit vents was part of my quote. When the expeditor came for final measurements, etc, he indicated 6-8 likely needed - no change in price. When it actually came time to do the work, the installers added 17 vents, "because they were needed" - NO EXTRA CHARGE!

I also like having the option of the sales person visiting me at home or ability to meet at the Weather Tight locations.

Had my roof and windows replaced by Weather Tight. Good product, good customer service.

Review: on june 21, 2014, I signed a contract to have windows installed in our house. I gave them a check for 1/3 the total amount. this was a friday. during the weekend my wife and I had second thoughts about it. we decided to cancel within 3 business days.

I sent certified mail to weather tight on mon june 23, 2014. we received a call shortly thereafter saying that they had to send out a salesman again and that more paperwork had to be signed. we are about 65 miles from west allis and said that it would be a waste of the salesman's time and ours and we do not want an additional sales pitch, just send the check back.

on the cancel form, it says nothing about having another salesman come out or the signing of additional paperwork. we again said to send the check back. it has been more than 10 business days and still no check. I suppose that I can stop payment on the check but I shouldn't have to do that. they can send the check back certified mail if they like.

I did use the standard 'i herby cancel' form that was on the contract receipt.Desired Settlement: just send my check back.

Response:

Mr. [redacted]-

Thank you for contacting Weather Tight in regards to your recent

experience. I apologize that it was not a positive one, and I hope I can

resolve it to your satisfaction.

I looked into the challenge you described and it looks like there

was a miscommunication on our end that caused the delay in getting your check

back to you. For our cancellation process, we do normally ask that we stop back

out to homeowners homes to personally delivery their deposits and return any

paperwork to them that they would like on file and have for their own records.

We also like to personally find out why you have decided to cancel your

contract-so we can better improve as a company if it was related to product or

pricing challenges. In your case, since you mentioned you lived further away

than our West Allis location, and didn’t care to have any other documents for

your records, it is absolutely fine for us to mail back your check. I apologize

that this was not relayed to you in that manner. In the course of our employee

speaking with you, and passing off your file to get your deposit back, the file

was placed in the wrong folder. We have located your file, along with the

deposit, and that is in the mail today. It was an honest error on our end, and

just a misplacement of a file into the wrong folder.

While this by no means is meant to make excuses for your poor

experience with Weather Tight, I hope you understand that we were by no means

trying to withhold your deposit or cause any headaches to you. I will update

all our files accurately on your account-as well as use this as a training

opportunity for all employees involved. If you have any further questions or

concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.
