Williams Landscaping & Pavers Reviews (%countItem)

Brian did a fabulous job on our patio and 7 years later it still looks great!

I listen to *** every day. They advertise half price deals on their web-site called North East Ohio Deals. They instruct listeners to visit the radio web-site for a variety of different half price offers/deals across NE Ohio. Being that this is a *** that has been on the air for a long time, I had no reason to question whether or not the offers that they had on their page were legitimate. I went on their web page and viewed all of the variety of offers and came across an offer from Williams Landscaping at *** for $1,000.00 for 10 yards of installed mulch for $500.00. I placed the order on the *** Web-site for the $500.00 worth of Mulch and paid for it with my credit card on April 2, 2019. I tried to reach the owner and he answered the phone at Williams Landscaping and said he was going to put the orders on the calendar in a few days and he would be in touch within a week or two with an approximate date. I never heard from him again. I called him two more times. Each time I spoke with him, he acted like he had no idea who I was and that he would look at his schedule when he got into the office. He requested that I also send him a text message with my name and address so he could put me on the schedule and he would call me with an estimated delivery date. He never did. I called him this week and he said that in order to get on the board, I needed to get on the schedule. Once on the board, it would be four to five more weeks at least. Keep in mind, I needed to be on a schedule first, then be put on a board, then it would be four to five weeks more. He had no clue that he had asked me to text him my address and I was not on his schedule or his board (which was the first I had heard of this system). I told him I had called and texted him four times since April 2 and why wasn't I already on the schedule and the board and he said there were no guarantees provided on when I would get my mulch. I asked him if I could have my money back and he said I would have to request it from *** because that is who took my money, not him. I had previously left 95.5 The Fish a voice mail message and did not hear back from them. So I left their office manager a message on the phone and I sent an email. No response. I left another email message a few days ago, NO response. I just left another voice mail message, NO response. Obviously, the money paid went to this guy's advertising bill/account and I am never going to see the $500 worth of installed mulch for my yard that I paid for on April 2, 2019. I understand that weather does have some bearing on installs, but to not even get an estimated delivery date or treatment like he knew I placed the order is ridiculous. Then to tell me I had to go back to the radio station to get my money back and have not one person respond from the radio station is a bit disappointing. If they are going to advertise on the air and on the multiple internet half price deals and take money from people, then they should make sure that their customers get what they paid for. $500.00 is a lot of money to our family and I would like a refund for this mulch.

Williams Landscaping & Pavers Response • Jun 04, 2019

I have been in contact with the consumer and laid 12 yards of mulch.

We hired W Landscaping & Pavers to install a paver patio, landscaping, and lawn (seed) for our newly built home, after seeing a sample of their paver work at the Cleveland Home & Garden Show. We hired them in March of 2016. They delayed four months and were not able to start work until July. I did not want the lawn installed in the middle of summer, so I asked Brian W to install the pavers, mulch and shrubs, and to install the lawn in the fall. They did not seed the lawn in the fall, but said that we would be first on the list to have it done in the spring of this year (2017). Brian asked me to release the second payment (the balance) of the loan so he could pay his workers, which I did, against my better judgment. My wife had to contact him twice this year to get them to come out and install the lawn, which they finally did in March, 2017. As of May, 2017 the "lawn" was a disaster. When we contacted him and asked him to come out and look at it, he refused and blamed us for not watering properly--an outrageous accusation given the facts that this has been one of the wettest springs on record and that we installed a sprinkler system using W' preferred subcontractor, who called Brian W and set the watering schedule according to his recommendation. Having not received satisfaction, we hired another company to redo the lawn.

Williams Landscaping & Pavers Response

We have been installing lawns since 2000, when we installed the customers lawn we removed rocks by rockhounding and debris from property. We use a premium seed from the best growers in the state, used a recommended starter fertilizer, and covered it with straw to protect it. These are the best practices of installation in the landscaping industry. Any landscaper and farmer knows that when you plant seed it needs time, water, and fertilize, the seed will germinate properly. But if these things are neglected then the lawn will suffer and the crop will suffer. This is why lawns cannot be guaranteed. It is imperative that the seed is cared for by the customer, which this information was replayed to the customer. The Customer with complaint did in fact hire us in March 2016. We have a waiting list and most of our work is scheduled in February and March and could stretch as far as July or August. We explained to the customer that there is never a guarantee on installation timing because of weather. The work that we did was excellent and pictures are posted in our displays. It was too hot for the lawn and I told them that it would be best to wait till fall. Fall came and it was too wet and cold and better to wait till spring. March of 2017 came and they demanded to have their lawn installed, I said it would be better to wait till the frost threat is over but they insisted. We installed it and in about 2 months I was told it was not doing well. I said I would come by to look at it, but they demanded me to re install the entire lawn. I said that is impossible, but they insisted disgruntled. All that was needed is overseeing or slice seeding is that needed done. I would have been glad to do this but they insisted I redo the entire lawn.

Customer Response

In response to the Revdex.com's latest request, I've uploaded photos of the lawn as it looks today, reinstalled by ***.

I've also attached a receipt from the lender, ***, showing that I paid in full the total amount billed by Williams Landscaping of $29,755.82.
