In August 2014, the previous WinkFlash owners abruptly shut down their website and suddenly went out ofbusinessCustomers had no advanced warning and were told by the previous owners that they would workon a solution to get customers there photosUnfortunately this did not happen. After a few months Winkflash came under new ownership and with great effort and expense, we were ableto acquire some of the old WinkFiash assets and import tens of millions of photosAs of now, we no longerhave access to the servers in the former owner's data center and will not be able to import any more photosfrom the previous WinkFlashAt this time, we are actively notifying previous customers about the current status of their photos they hadstored with the previous WinkFlashRegards,WinkFiash

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [I immediately (within minutes) responded via email to the Winkflash email that I received from them on March 16th Their proposed "resolution"....offering me a measly $credit for use on THEIR website is NOT acceptable I find it insulting first because their email states that they lost all of my 10+ years of pictures but they offer me a lousy $credit to use on their site???? I think my unrecoverable pictures are worth A LOT more than $ And what would I possibly use that credit for on THEIR website when they've lost all of my pictures and told me there is NO hope of ever recovering them In addition, I sent my reply email back to them immediately on March 16th and have heard NOTHING from them since then A friend of mine, also a Winkflash customer, experienced the lousy customer service by constantly being ignored through emails and messages She also filed a complaint with the Revdex.com Winkflash finally responded to her with an email similar to the one I received stating that her pictures are lost forever....with NO mention of that $credit I was offered This is a terrible company with horrible (non-existent) customer service I would like to take whatever the next step is to give this company the worst rating possible ] Regards, [redacted]

I contacted Winkflash via email several times between 9/17/and today I found a gift certificate valued at $that was issued before they went under new ownership I sent them an email and got this response:
"Thank you for contacting us, ***
As you may know, Winkflash is under new ownership as of August Unfortunately, the previous gift certificate codes are no longer able to be entered onto the current website
Please forward us an email or screenshot containing details of the gift certificate you had received showing the code and amount so that we can further assist you
Please let us know if you have any questions
We look forward to hearing back from you soon!"
So, I scanned the gift certificate and emailed it to them as requested They have not responded since I have done so I have used this company since and up until now, had been happy with their customer service Now, there is no customer service phone number, all you can do is send emails I have at least five emails since mid September I feel that it is very poor customer service to not respond at all If they do not want to honor the gift certificate, fine, at least do me the courtesy of letting me know what they have decided I do not plan to use this printing service in the future Things have really changed since going under new ownership I feel that the customer deserves a response to a question as simple as this one Thank you, *** C

Winkflash very quickly contacted me, after hearing from Revdex.com, and the matter has been resolved. They have credited my account in the amount due/requested

I have used Winkflash to archive precious family photos and memories I tried to access my account with no luck I contacted customer service via email and received the following response "We would first like to offer our sincere apologies." "Although unavoidable, we understand no words can ever be sufficient for the loss of your memories."
It seems like they decided to dump my photos without any prior notification I was truly heartbroken at the precious years of memories that I have lost I provided Winkflash with my username, password and email for my account I lost photos and trust in the company that I used for many years I would like to warn others about this terrible company and to not use this company
I don't understand how a company loses your information, does not back it up, unless they dumped all photos without notification

Hello, I was sent a dental form release, but my issue is not with a healthcare provider It is with WInkflash online photography*** ***

Review: Winkflash has new owners who claimed for months to have photos that thousands of customers were storing on the website. When I inquired about my 10,000 missing photos, I was told that it would take a few weeks, but all the photos were being transferred to the new site.

When weeks passed and I heard nothing, I contacted Winkflash again and received an email stating that they had experienced "a server issue that may have caused the error you had received....At this time, we are still working on transferring photos from the old site onto the current site. This process may still take a little while longer. I have added your account to our priority queue list so that the transfer will go faster for your account."

When weeks went by again and I heard nothing and was unable to access the approximately 10,000 photos I had stored on the Winkflash website, I contacted Winkflash and received the following email:

As you may know, in August 2014 the previous Winkflash owners shut down their website and went suddenly out of business. Overnight their entire operation was completely down and there was no way to access or retrieve any photos.

However, after a few months we were able to acquire some of the old Winkflash assets and with great effort and expense, were able to save and transfer to our servers many tens of millions of photos…but unfortunately, not all. We are very sorry for all of the trouble, stress and confusion this has caused you.

As of now, we no longer have access to the images remaining on the original Winkflash servers. We are truly very sorry and have put in countless hours and did our best…but because of the quick shutdown of the previous owners…the window of recovery was much shorter than expected.

First of all, which is it? Did they have access to the servers to transfer photos, or didn't they? Who acquires a company and then loses their servers? Data doesn't just disappear, it simply has to be retrieved. Winkflash is operating unethically.Desired Settlement: I want my photos back. I want Winkflash to do the right thing and obtain the photos I had stored on their website and was told would be returned to my account. Data recovery is always an option, and I can't buy the story that they had a "window of recovery" in which to obtain photos off a server from the previous owners. What kind of business deal involves a "window of recovery" and then the previous owner taking back their property? Were they renting the business, or did they buy it? I want Winkflash to stop making excuses and recover my photos, which can be returned to my account, in which I would be happy to purchase all of them and go away, or by loading my photos onto a flash drive or CD and mailing them to me. Alternately, if by some bizarre business deal they have returned the photos to the previous owners, I want the new owners to contact them and retrieve my pictures. I have nine years worth of photos stored on their website and I want them back.

I contacted Winkflash via email several times between 9/17/15 and today. I found a gift certificate valued at $50 that was issued before they went under new ownership. I sent them an email and got this response:

"Thank you for contacting us, [redacted].

As you may know, Winkflash is under new ownership as of August 2014. Unfortunately, the previous gift certificate codes are no longer able to be entered onto the current website.

Please forward us an email or screenshot containing details of the gift certificate you had received showing the code and amount so that we can further assist you.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

We look forward to hearing back from you soon!"

So, I scanned the gift certificate and emailed it to them as requested. They have not responded since I have done so. I have used this company since 2003 and up until now, had been happy with their customer service. Now, there is no customer service phone number, all you can do is send emails. I have at least five emails since mid September. I feel that it is very poor customer service to not respond at all. If they do not want to honor the gift certificate, fine, at least do me the courtesy of letting me know what they have decided. I do not plan to use this printing service in the future. Things have really changed since going under new ownership. I feel that the customer deserves a response to a question as simple as this one. Thank you, [redacted] C.
