Review: They have no phone customer service numbers that work and have stopped answering or responding to electronic communication. They promised to refund the cost of a canceled order and have not done that. Very frustrating.Desired Settlement: Refund/credit of $154.88 to my credit card

Response:

Winkflash very quickly contacted me, after hearing from Revdex.com, and the matter has been resolved. They have credited my account in the amount due/requested.

Review: Yes, I have used WinkFlash for years and have stored and ordered a lot of photos. Recently I accessed my account and found that the business had switched owners and supposedly they were unable to access all the photos files so many, many of my photos were lost. What I find hard to believe is that all my folders are still available for access, but no photos in them. I am sorry with all the technology if you can transfer file and file names why were not the photos transferred as well. I contacted them multiple times and the first three times, I got, Please be patient we have thousands and thousands of photos to transfer to the new site and it will take patience an time. Recently after contacting them again, I am told that they were only able to access a minimum number of the files all the rest were lost and they are sorry of the inconvenience. With the only remorse being sorry, no offer to give me a credit. I then asked for a CD of the my remaining photos and I was told they were unable to do that, however my photos are safe. Why would I trust them when I have been getting story after story. All I want is a CD of my remaining photos.Desired Settlement: I would like a CD of my remaining photos, since so many photos I had stored were irreplaceable.

Review: Winkflash has been the online company that I kept my personal photographs with. I logged into my account in January of 2015 and found that all my photos were missing. I contacted the company and was told that they were purchased and currently transferring my images to a new server. It is now April 26 and I still have no photos and I have contacted the company at least three times and have no response. Winkflash has stolen my photos. I received no email saying that my photos would be moved. If I knew this I would have taken the time to purchase disks of my photos.Desired Settlement: I want Winkflash to provide transfer all my images that they have been saying they would for months and when this is completed I want them to send me a computer disk with all of these photos on it as I no longer trust the company to be responsible for my precious family photos.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] for (4) 8x10 Back Canvases. I paid $39.98 for shipping and received only (2) canvases that were BLANK. The canvas should have been a picture of our family members. However, both canvases were BLANK.Desired Settlement: Requesting an immediate full refund for my shipping cost of $39.98.

Review: I have used Winkflash to store my photos for many years, going back to my wedding in 2003. Recently Winkflash was sold. Sadly, everything I had on that site has been lost. Apparently there was some issue between previous owners and current. Despite multiple attempts at contact through Winkflash help, with many not getting a response, I did get a response that said "be patient", we are transferring photos from the server. I waited 1 month and contacted them again as my acct still did not contain any images. After a couple of attempts they finally responsed to please be patient. I waited another month and contacted them yesterday and have been told that they are very sorry but all my pictures are gone, unable to be retrieved. I could have a 50$ gift card for their site. ALL MY PICTURES ARE GONE. I have some on back up disc but have lost everything. I am very disappointed that this happened. that's 12 years of images gone. It makes me so uneasy to use any online photo storage system and I am heartbroken at the loss.Desired Settlement: I really want someone to see if my images are retrievable and to get me a copy of all my old images on disc or storage device. I cannot believe in this day and age of technology that they are all just GONE.

Review: First of all the address you have is not correct. Winkflash changed ownership and the address now listed is Winkflash, 221 Main Street, Suite L, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 I cannot find a phone number. I, along with 100's of other customers, judging by their facebook page, have had all or most of our photos deleted or lost. I have used their service approximately 10 years. I am not even sure how long because my pictures are gone and it is hard to judge without being able to see my files. This company has promised to store our photos and it now appears they have been lost and they are unwilling to admit this. Emails go unanswered even when multiple attempts have been made. I have lost not only the pictures but also the HOURS of time put into projects and uploading these pictures. Some of which are gone forever unless Winklflash can restore them. They have now for months been saying they are "working on" moving our photos in "the next few weeks". It has been since at least November that we have been waiting. I am missing, in my estimation, upwards of 10,000 photos.Desired Settlement: Winkflash should admit if the photos are gone. If they are not gone they should be restored IMMEDIATELY. If they exist but cannot be restored, customers should be provided a method/instuctions on how to obtain them or they should be delivered to us by other means such as a dvd copy. If the images are gone, it is my opinion they should pay for damages incurred for the loss of property, time, and the personal anguish undoubtedly many are experiencing. Possibly, a class action lawsuit is necessary.

Review: I was a happy, satisfied Winkflash customer for 10+ years until the company was purchased by another company. The company has hundreds of my personal pictures stored on their website. When the company was purchased, they said they would be transferring all of their current customers old pictures to the new (and improved) website. I waited patiently since NOVEMBER 2014 and was constantly given the runaround through automated response emails. I tried to contact them on their Facebook page and was told to send them private messages via Facebook which I also did countless times. They NEVER respond to private messages or to emails requesting assistance. I am far from being the only very dissatisfied customer. Many customers complained using their advertisement status updates but now they have removed all of the negative message posts (of which there were many) and only leave the very few positive ones. The option for me to comment on these updates has now been removed (at least for me) and I'm sure they've done this to there many other dissatisfied customers. I am at my wits end. This company has ZERO customer service to offer and should be investigated!!!!Desired Settlement: I want all of my old pictures restored as I was promised would happen on many occasions when they did at least bother to respond to emails and Facebook private messages. In addition, I want a personal call from someone at that company to apologize for their utterly horrible customer service.

Response:

In August 2014, the previous WinkFlash owners abruptly shut down their website and suddenly went out ofbusiness. Customers had no advanced warning and were told by the previous owners that they would workon a solution to get customers there photos. Unfortunately this did not happen. After a few months Winkflash came under new ownership and with great effort and expense, we were ableto acquire some of the old WinkFiash assets and import tens of millions of photos. As of now, we no longerhave access to the servers in the former owner's data center and will not be able to import any more photosfrom the previous WinkFlash. At this time, we are actively notifying previous customers about the current status of their photos they hadstored with the previous WinkFlash.Regards,WinkFiash

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[I immediately (within 15 minutes) responded via email to the Winkflash email that I received from them on March 16th. Their proposed "resolution"....offering me a measly $50 credit for use on THEIR website is NOT acceptable. I find it insulting first because their email states that they lost all of my 10+ years of pictures but they offer me a lousy $50 credit to use on their site???? I think my unrecoverable pictures are worth A LOT more than $50.00. And what would I possibly use that credit for on THEIR website when they've lost all of my pictures and told me there is NO hope of ever recovering them. In addition, I sent my reply email back to them immediately on March 16th and have heard NOTHING from them since then. A friend of mine, also a Winkflash customer, experienced the lousy customer service by constantly being ignored through emails and messages. She also filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. Winkflash finally responded to her with an email similar to the one I received stating that her pictures are lost forever....with NO mention of that $50 credit I was offered. This is a terrible company with horrible (non-existent) customer service. I would like to take whatever the next step is to give this company the worst rating possible. ]

Review: I have been a customer of this company for about 10 years now. It's a photo storing website, so I had previously stored 10 years of photos on the site. Last year there was a notice on their website that they were going out of business but not to be concerned - that everyone's pictures would still be accessible. There was also a note that there would be further instructions coming soon on how to retrieve all your photos. Weeks and months went by with nothing. Then there was a new note on the website saying that new owners had taken over and were working on getting everyone's pictures restored. Prior to this, I could see all my pictures but just didn't have instructions on how to download them to my computer. Now that the new owners are there, all of my folders are listed, but they are empty. I had thousands of pictures on there that are all gone now, and they are not stored anywhere else. I have tried to contact them by phone, email & their Facebook page with no response at all. Their website still says they are working on this but I have also seen several other complaints of customers being told that their photos cannot be retrieved. These photos mean the world to me and after being told that I would always have access to them, I should have just that. And now I am not even getting the decency of a reply.Desired Settlement: I need all of my photos either restored to the website or somehow sent to me in digital form to be saved to my computer or other device.

Review: I have spent hundreds of dollars in the past with Winkflash to have photos printed. to my dismay, when I tried to log back in it could no longer find my account. After some online research I found they went out of business and have moved from Road Island to California. No emails or notifications were ever sent out. I was registered with the old winkflash and because of this all my years and years of photographs are gone. Winkflash does not have a telephone number to contact them so an email was sent with the simple question from them "are you an old winkflash customer?" and have yet to hear anything else.Desired Settlement: I would like an explanation on why they have never told customers of their going out of business and for them to work on some system to retrieve photographs.

Review: I wish I could select more than one "primary nature" - I have not received my item I purchased nearly a month ago, and no one is responding to my requests for a refund. Awful, awful customer service.Desired Settlement: I'd like a full refund for my purchase that was lost, and just anyone from the business to have the decency to contact me.

Review: I have been uploading my pictures onto winkflash for over 10 years. Thats many years of memories of my life with my family and friends. They were bought out and apparently I cant get my pictures now, I feel that they shouldve given evrynone the change to transfer and save their pictures elsewhere. But indstad I feel like my memories have been stolen. I just want the opportunity to get my pictures back. I have picturrs of my grandmother who just passed. Pictures of my vacations. I think if they had access before they should give us an opportunity to get the same access. Them giving me a $50 credit is useless when I dont have any picpictures anymore and why would I ever upload my pics o a site that screwed me over and give them money or businessDesired Settlement: Access to obtain my pictures

Review: Like many other people, my photos have disappeared. 1000's of photos.

My children entire lives! of photos. at least 12 years of photos!

The photos have to be in cyber space somewhere!

Winkflash must have them in there system somewhere. Winkflash should give them to us, on a dvd or instructions of how to get them back!!!

I have been a loyal customer and now I am a very broken hearted customer.

I can not express how upset that we are.Desired Settlement: I want my photos! My life!

Review: Received an email a while ago stating to update email address due to company being under new ownership. Followed the steps we were told in order not to lose my pictures. Tried accessing them shortly after and was able to. Tried to access them again recently and couldn't. Contacted company and they stated all my picutres are gone and can't be retrieved. Why would this happen when I followed the steps they gave me. I have lost all of my childrens pictures that have been on the site since 2007. The costumers should have been told that even though we did what we were told to do we were not guaranteed to still have access to our pictures. We could have ordered them all instead of ruining childhood memories. My loss can not be replaced and literally sick to my stomach. I thought they say once something is on the internet it is there forever, so; I don't understand how my pictures disappeare. Someone dropped the ball and it wasn't the consumers...Devasted beyond words. I am sure I am not the only one. I believe the consumers deserved a chance to backup thier acconts. I feel robbed and cheated.Desired Settlement: I would like access to my pictures....I want to know what happened to them.

Review: I logged into Winkflash and my older photos are gone! I emailed customer service, but I have read so many complaints where folks have lost their photos. Hello, I was sent a dental form release, but my issue is not with a healthcare provider. It is with WInkflash online photography.

Review: I have been a customer of Winkflash since 2004. I used this online service to order pictures and to upload photos from my phone and camera to keep all my pictures safe. I have never had a problem until today. My parents house burned down so I thought I would make a photo book for them of all of our family and of their grandchildren, my children so we could give them some of the personal items they lost. To my surprise ALL of my pictures 11 years worth were gone. Pictures of vacations, deceased family members, performances, and my children's baby pictures just disappeared. I immediately called the support number with no answer after two hours and then sent an email. They responded to my email with a very apologetic email but when looking into this saw the word for word email sent out to everyone. Needless to say I am distressed. My pictures are very dear to me and I am just at a loss.Desired Settlement: I don't want anything except my pictures. I am just so sad! Trying would also be nice and to just not write me off.

Review: This organization changed ownership in 2014/2015 and has failed to provide the product (online picture storage) for 4+ months. I have entrusted 10 years of picture memories in this organization and now most of these memories have disappeared. This company made the promise that they would keep consumer's pictures SAFE and then closed their doors. Someone - the old owners or the new owners - need to be held accountable for this blatant failure in service to consumers. On a personal level, I am deeply saddened that the memories I entrusted in this company are gone.Desired Settlement: I would just like my pictures available for me to download. Nothing else. Just the memories that I entrusted in this organization.

Review: I've used the photo sharing website of www.winkflash.com to store years of my personal photos from family gatherings to my wedding, etc. I recently logged onto www.winkflash.com to get a copy of some of the older pictures to create a scrapbook for my great-aunt's 90th birthday and was unable to retrieve any of my photos. I contacted the online support of Winkflash and they sent me a form letter stating that my photos had been lost under previous ownership and they were sorry for the inconvenience, offering me a $50 credit. I'm outraged that my memories have been lost. How could they have not had back-up servers in place? This seems to have affected several customers and I would like this issue looked into. While the language of their original guarantee of keeping photos safe is no longer available, I know this company had a guarantee of saving our precious memories.Desired Settlement: The $50 credit they offered was laughable. I had 7-8 years of memories uploaded to winkflash.com and I would like access to those photos I uploaded and trusted to winkflash.com to keep safe.
