Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I will reiterate what me and Ms. [redacted] talked about over several email conversations, and I will go into more detail so everything is clear. She is correct in saying that my contract with Wiperecord began in April, that is when I first began making payments. They did not send me any forms in the mail till 5 months later, in August. These forms came 5 months later even though they told me that they would begin working on my case immediately. At this time, in April, I was busy with school and work and was unable to perform legal work for myself, so I trusted Wiperecord to do it. In July, I had received no paperwork from Wiperecord and began to wonder why Wiperecord was taking so long to fill out and file my forms (pleadings). At this point, I felt that the legal work they were doing (expungement) should not be taking this long, so I decided to look into the whole process. I found that it was not too complicated, so I filled out my own pleadings, signed them, and sent them to the court. The process of filling out these pleadings and sending them to the court took approximately one hour of my time. Shortly after I sent these forms, Wiperecord sent me similar pleadings asking me to sign them and send them back to Wiperecord so that Wiperecord can send them to the courts (this would be redundant because the courts already had the forms I sent on my own). At this point I realized how unnecessary the services of Wiperecord are and kindly asked them to terminate our contract and give me some type of refund. Ms. [redacted] said that since they filled out these forms and sent them to me, I will not be getting any type of refund. When I explained to her my situation as I did above, she said all I would receive are filing fees totaling to only $75 out of the $1000 I paid to Wiperecord. At this point, neither Ms. [redacted] or Wiperecord has contacted me about refunding ANY money, not even the $75 she said would be refunded to me. Now, I understand that I signed a contract and that Wiperecord does not need to and probably will not give me any refund. I just feel that from a customer service standpoint, Wiperecord is very inefficient and unjust in their practices. The same forms I was able to fill out in under an hour, Wiperecord took 5 MONTHS to send to me. That is some of the worst productivity I have ever experienced. Also, Wiperecord and Ms. [redacted] claim that the work they performed for me is worth $1000. I would like to see exactly what they did, because a few sheets of paper that I received from them after 5 months could not possibly be worth $1000. Again I completed these forms, printed them (the ink to print them cost me $1), and sent them out in about 1 hour.Ms. [redacted] says: "While we try to accommodate and treat all clients fairly and with compassion, we also need to be cognizant of those who wish to take advantage of us and determine where to draw the line on things such as refunds and payments, etc." Again, I do not believe their practices with me (and most likely others), are fair or compassionate. Fair would be coming to a compromise and understanding of how much I can be refunded according to the amount of work they did for me. Ms. [redacted] refers to not being taken advantage of; to me it seems they are taking advantage of their customers by taking their money first, then performing services later. There is no fairness or compassion in that. At this point, whether, I receive a refund or not, I would like my review and complaint to remain on Revdex.com to warn other people seeking legal help with expungement. I can show proof of any forms, emails, and dealings with Wiperecord that I have if anyone would like to see how they operate. Wiperecord may or may not eventually provide customers with an expungement, but it will be a lengthy and painfully long process that can be more simply (and more cheaply) completed by an individual without the headache of dealing with uncaring lawyers.

Hi [redacted] - A check was sent over the last few days to your wife for a refund on her case. We are still working on your case and look forward to exceeding your expectations.  Many thanks for being a valued client, [redacted]!

[redacted] – thanks for your message.  Your refund for $700 is in process and you should receive shortly.

This is in response to the Revdex.com complaint filed by a previous client.  The client contracted our company to perform the service of “research” to determine which legal services she would be eligible for in the State of Michigan. We have proof of this in the form of a signed contractual agreement,...

and the total amount of these services was $300.00, not $350.00 as the client has claimed. We processed her case, created a file, and granted her access to our online portal.  Next, we submitted and paid for records requests with various state agencies in Michigan. As we were awaiting her records, we had been communicating with the client – primarily by email – and offering responses to questions, clarifications of the legal process, etc. It was made clear to her that the $300.00 payment was for legal “research” to confirm her eligibility by comparing the records we received to the laws of the State of Michigan.  After multiple requests for records, we received the information necessary to make a case determination. Our Michigan attorney then reviewed her records, and came to a legal conclusion as to which legal services she was eligible for under the law. We relayed this information to the client, and gave her the option to sign an additional contract to complete a legal service in Michigan. The $300.00 would have been further attributed to a new, full contract amount, had the client signed on to complete an additional legal service. The client expressed her intent to sign on for further legal services – and that was relayed to a representative in our billing department. Unfortunately, due to a bit of restructuring within our customer service software, there was a short lapse of time in reaching out to the client to sign on an additional contract for services. The client did not communicate with us, nor did she inquire about the status of her case within this timeframe. Rather than contacting our office to resolve things amicably, the client began to make false claims against our organization. Furthermore, the client made threats to pursue legal action, attacked the character of our business, and expressed personal insults against our employees. These actions were in breach of the contract we initially had in place. Therefore, since we completed the services we were contracted to perform, coupled with the uncooperative behavior of the client, we conveyed to her that the terms of our contract had been fully performed and all services were rendered. Thus, payment received was fully earned by the firm, and she was terminated from further representation as a client.

We are not interested in continuing to go back and forth with an unreasonable client. The client can contact us directly if he wishes to pursue this matter further.
