Wood & Spool Reviews (%countItem)

Same as all of the other comments below. Should’ve looked here prior to ordering. These guys are scammers. And should be ashamed of what they’re doing. I’m amazed they still have a website up. Will do what I can to get it taken down.

Ordered in Oct 2019. Never got coffee table. Had to go through credit card to get money refunded. They wouldn’t respond to phone calls

I placed an order with Wood & Spool in August. I understood that it could take several months to build and deliver the products I ordered, but Wood & Spool has still not communicated a delivery date, and has not responded to any messages from me in over two months. I have documentation of the order, the language on their sites about delivery expectations and the few responses they have made directly about my order via email and *** Messenger.

Our story is pretty spot on to Michael M.'s story below therefore I will spare you all of the details, countless emails, phone calls, and excuses received. I am solely writing this review to urge anyone dealing with similar experiences to the comments below to work with you credit card companies to get your money back! When I finally requested a refund after 6 months of waiting I received ZERO response from Wood and Spool. I stated in my email that I would take further action if I did not receive communication from them in 7 days. This was my second email sent with zero response over the course of 17 days. Therefore, I disputed the claim with the credit card company who helped me out despite the fact that the original order date was more than 60 days prior. I hope this helps anyone who has been frustrated and may be concerned about receiving their money back.
I do not recommend ordering from this company. I'm slightly convinced it is a scam, however, I am leaning towards it more likely being a poorly run business with very poor communication. If you want to feel valued as a customer go elsewhere.

Same experience as all other reviews. Ordered a coffee table... waited 3 months and I was told for two of those months that it was “on its way”. Horrific communication and service. Thank goodness for the protection of my credit card company. I would never pay these people a dime.

We ordered a bench in August of 2019 and have only received a series of "excuse email responses" from this company. The first came in October of 2019, in response to our contacting them that we never received our order. The excuse was that it had been shipped, but returned, which was impossible as we were here during the time it was "theoretically" shipped and never received notice from Wood and Spool that it HAD been shipped (no tracking info). The next response, in mid November 2019, after once again inquiring about our order, was a verbose message from "Mike and Jaime" about how they were overwhelmed with orders and that we "were not being scammed" (!! their words !!). After reading the other reviews here, which are eerily similar, I fear that we will never see the bench, and, indeed have been "scammed" :(

If I could give no stars I would! This business is terrible. 60 days later I did not have my pieces. I had to file with my method of payment. Contacted through emails, phone calls, Facebook and got no response. They are friendly when you are paying and then you never hear from them.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

I have emailed numerous times and each time, Jaime responds days later with a bogus timeline. She mentioned the website has a disclaimer that items may take 14-21 business days to ship and “larger items may take longer”. This was very deceptive as this wording does not prepare the consumer for over 3 times the longest estimated production time listed on the website. Now, after my numerous emails to the company, there is a statement that the coffee table may take 6-8 weeks, this statement was not on there at the time of my purchase. All of Jaime’s timelines have passed and I still do not have my table 4.5 months later. On November 4, I received a shipping notification finally, after over 2 months of waiting. No updates after the label was created for weeks and I had emailed and attempted to get in contact with them to find out why there was a delay. Finally, after no resolution for months and 15 emails inquiring about the status of my order, I left my review on *** and after that was deleted, on Instagram and both were removed from the owners. Jaime then called me and screamed at me on the phone for leaving those reviews. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever encountered, she was extremely unprofessional for the duration of the phone call as well in her follow up email to me. I asked for a refund on over a month ago on December 7, 2019 and Jaime once again didn’t respond. After several more attempts, she claimed she processed my refund but noted it would take a week to receive it. I still have not received the refund and she once again gave a bogus shipping date for the table now, suggesting her refund process claim was a lie and they had not ever attempted to send my table yet. I have already purchased a replacement coffee table after waiting 4 months to receive the goods I paid for but did not receive. I requested the refund again for my $244.30 after explaining this and still have not heard from them again.

On July 17, 2019, I ordered a set of two of "The Adams Handmade, Solid Cherry, Tapered-Leg Night Table," for which I paid by ATM/debit card a total of $289 (order #***). My bank recorded this as "Merchant purchase Terminal 449215 SP Wood and Spool Httpswood NJI," paid out July 18, 2019. I wrote to W & S on Sept. 20, and contacted them again in October, after which I received a phone call assuring me I would soon receive my tables, that they had "had trouble with both their email and the wood needed to make the tables, but that these problems were over and I would soon have my furniture." On Nov. 5, 2019, I wrote again, saying that as I had received neither furniture nor any further word from them, I would like them to refund me my money." "Jaime" emailed me back, saying her records showed they had shipped to us in the second week of October. On Nov. 7, Jaime emailed that the shippers would "look into it." Nov. 10, I wrote asking what they had found. I heard on Nov. 13 that "they ha[d] completed the trace and unfortunately they were unable to locate the tables. We already have replacements in production for you so there will not be a long delay." On Dec. 5, Jaime told me I would receive the shipping tracking no. on Monday. I got the shipping number, but it was not used. On Dec. 15, I wrote asking them again to return my money if they weren't going to send the tables. I got an email on Dec. 27 saying their Christmas shipping backlog had slowed them down, but they would be sending the tables out on the Monday following. As of now, I have received no further word, tables, or money.

In May 32019, I ordered a bench and coat rack for $275. Delivery of the product was at least 5 months and was only one part of the 2 pieces ordered. I spent time calling and emailing to see where my order was. I was told it was on its way. Then I was told it had never left a ups holding area because the address was incomplete. Each call I made I was told I would receive a new tracking #. That never happened. The names of the people were mike and Jamie. When I finally received the bench, the coat rack was missing. I was told it would be another few days. When that didn’t occur they told me they have to remake it. And because it was deemed lost, they did not just ship it, they had to send it by way of “ups loss”. I have never received it. The excuses and follow up are poor. “They were in the middle of a move” And they were sorry. I had to call weekly to get a response. I am still waiting for the second part of the order. I am too tired to continue to fight for this. Even though I live in Tucson, I am still waiting and this is no way to run a business.

We ordered some shelving on October 22, 2019 and have not received it. We paid $74.93 via *** which used our checking account. They do not return voice mails or emails.

I also have been waiting for my entrance bench since July 2019. And I’ve had several emails stating it would be on its way etc. etc. just like everybody else that posted. Just outrageous that a company can work like this
At least one of the other people that replied got a partial order. Really disappointed in people

BEWARE: DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM! No stars should be an option! I ordered simple 12 inch shelves and 2 months later still nothing. They rarely respond to any communication attempts and when they do they give the typical "it's scheduled for completion and will be sent out..." but then it never was. I disputed the charge with *** and they stopped payments to Wood & Spool until the 29th of Dec. They never responded to *** so I was refunded my money. Definitely scammers. Do not order anything from them!

This company is completely UNRELIABLE..unfortunately I have read these reviews in hindsight. But , I too am a victim of fairly purchasing wood spice racks which I have never received. I was told it would be 3-4 weeks. However, it has been 3 months. I have received 1 correspondence via email after I inquired about the merchandise that was never received..I also requested a refund and I have not heard from anyone in this company.....I agree. This company is a total SHAM°

Ordered a bench in September. Had to reach out one month later. Numerous promises of delivery. By December, never received bench. I asked for refund of money and that was never received either.,Luckily I have a good bank.

Delivery was promised by 11/27/2019. Repeated outreach for updates with no response. Finally received a response after threat to go to Revdex.com. Reached out since for update, no response. Ordered in Sept. promised delivery day before Thanksgiving g, now one week from Christmas, paid in full and still no tables (ordered 5 tables). And they gave gone silent again. Have our money, missed deadlines and VERY little to none communication. I like supporting small businesses, but this is an outlier of bad experience and horrible service levels.

This company has taken my money and delivered no product. I was given the runaround stating the table I ordered was almost ready yet was offered no estimated time of completion/arrival. The owner Jamie offered me a refund which I have yet to receive. I have emailed repeatedly with no response. It’s been 3 months and I still have no product or no refund.

Everyone who says this is a scam is absolutely correct. I waited two months for a bench, emailed, called (they only ever texted back), and they kept saying that it was in the works. Then when I requested a refund they said I’d have to pay a restocking fee since magically they had already started it now. I disputed the charge with Amex and they refunded me the money immediately. These are low life scammers, it’s pathetic. I wish people would put this much effort into a real job, and not just taking money from innocent people.

COMPLETE SCAM....STAY AWAY - DO NOT ORDER!!!! Almost 3 months later and no bench in site. I called twice, and emailed. Finally Jamie responded saying my bench would ship out the following week. Of course it didn't. I then get a completely generic email last night stating how sorry they were they couldn't get me the product in time and can assure me it is coming yet can offer no date. It also stated the company has seen a huge surge in growth. Well, if that were true, the company would be more professional and hire more workers. Email goes on to state this is not a scam and they understand how I can feel this way. Looks like "Mike and Jamie" have been reading their Revdex.com reviews. NO BUSINESS WOULD EVER EMAIL A CUSTOMER EXPLAINING HOW IT IS NOT A SCAM. After reading this pathetic email I wrote back stating I wanted a refund immediately and that I was going to the Revdex.com...MINUTES later I get a response from Jaime stating my bench is almost done and will be shipped out this week. COME ON. This is the biggest scam and I have no idea how their website is still in existence. SHUT IT DOWN!!!!

I decided to post, as I, like apparently so many others, have been a frustrated Wood & Spool customer. Here is my unfortunately not-all-that-brief experience with them:
June 29th: I ordered Headhouse Table No.48 from Wood & Spool. At the time as part of the order notification process, they included the following blanket statement with the order receipt: "We have received your order and will begin production on your handmade product. You will receive a shipping notification with a tracking number once it is completed and shipped. Please note: Wood & Spool makes only handmade, made-to-order items. As such, shipping times may vary greatly depending on current order volume. For specific order processing times, please e-mail us. Large items such as benches and tables may take as little as 17-21 business days or as many as 30-45 business days. Please contact us for details.
This is fairly consistent with what was on their website, so I knew that I likely had around a 2 month wait to get the coffee table and I was fine with that being the wait for a hand-made table.
8/20 - Since I had not really heard anything from Wood & Spool since the order was placed, I decided to email just to check in with them and to check on the status of the order.
8/21 - Received an email response from Jaime stating that the order was in production and that they were working hard to get it complete and shipped as quickly as possible. She stated that the order did not currently have a scheduled ship date yet but if I checked back in a week or so, they would be able to give me an accurate date of completion.
9/18 - Since I had not yet received the coffee table, a shipping notification or any update since 8/21, I emailed again to check on the status of my order.
9/18 - I received an email response from Jaime stating that the order was in production and was scheduled to be completed and sent to shippers by September 27th.
10/14 - Since I had not yet received the coffee table or a shipping notification or any update since 9/18, I emailed yet again to check on the status of my order.
10/14 - I received an email response from Jaime apologizing for the long wait for my order. She stated that they had recently experienced some shipping and fulfillment issues but were working hard to get all orders out as quickly as possible. She did offer a refund as an option rather than continuing to wait on the table.
10/15 - I emailed back to thank her for the update and to let her know that I would prefer to wait on the table. This turned out to be a big mistake on my part. I had hoped that they would realize how long I had been waiting on the order and get the table made pretty quickly and that any additional wait would not be all that long. I was terribly mistaken in thinking that the order would be fulfilled anytime soon. I really should have told her that I wanted a refund at this point.
11/11 - I emailed again to check on the status of my order and to ask for a completion date and an estimated ship date. I pointed out that the table had supposedly been in production back in mid-September with an estimated ship date of September 27th.
11/13 - I received an email response from Jaime stating that their head woodworker was working on my table now and that she estimated that it would be completed and shipped by the middle of the next week.
Well, that was 13 days ago and I haven't received a shipment notification yet. I really don't know what to say at this point other than I think they are really disorganized and aren't able to product items on a timeline that is anywhere close to reasonable. Today is November 26th and my order was originally placed on June 29th. So, I am 3 days away from waiting 5 months on my order, which is just insane.
I am really wondering about their honesty, since my order has supposedly "been in production" numerous times:
8/21 (based on Jaime's email), 9/18 (based on Jaime's email), 11/13 (based on Jaime's email). Well, let's just be blunt: they haven't been working on my table since August or they would have had it completed and shipped many weeks ago. So, I feel certain that they have been intentionally dishonest in some of their responses to me about the status of my order.
My general recommendation is that anyone considering ordering from Wood & Spool should steer clear and go elsewhere. Anyone who has already ordered from Wood & Spool but who has not yet received their order(s) and have been waiting more than a couple of months should just go ahead and bite the bullet and request a refund. If they refuse to give a refund, then dispute the charge with your credit card company or bank (depending on how you paid for the order).
I am just at a loss for words for how a company can be run like this and ever hope to be successful.
