I was issued a check by WEM Gold's Gym, as a refund of my cancelled subscriptionThe Check was hidden among my stuffI accidentally found it years laterMy [redacted] bank said the check expired and advised me to ask the issuer to replace it for meWhen I went back to same branch, Rima the manager told me that the Owner Refused to do so, and said that they can not help me with this issue, or even return my money by any means

I cancelled my membership in within the cancellation period and am now receiving collection calls Mid-March I went into the Westmount location to cancel my membership in person with plenty of time prior to the yearly auto renewal of the membership - I waited at an unmanned desk for about minutes until the lady finally came back to the desk, [redacted] I indicated to her that I wished to cancel my membership and she stated that this can only be done in writing through registered mail - I informed her that I do not know what registered mail is, can she please explain it to me - She indicated that it was just "regular mail" A few days later I mailed off the required cancellation letter - August 1, (more than the days cancellation period later), I noticed that money was still being withdrawn from my account and used the website to contact the manager Rocky to inquire why money was still being withdrawn from my account as

I went to the gym and asked for month to month membership and explained to them that am not going to be in Edmonton for long so I did not need any contractThe employee told me oh sure that's not a problem; We have a promo going where you don't have to pay for the monthsYou only have to pay onetime fee of $88.20, which to me is same as paying almost $per monthHe said if you continue you to use our service you will pay $per month for monthI stated clearly that I don't intent to use the gym for a year
I did not continue to use their service after month because I was out town for a whileI used the gym between Jan -March
When signing the docs he marked some areas on the form and asked me to sign here and thereThe forms were barely readable and lengthy and he made it seem so simple and only pointed out the places to sign and then he completed the rest of the formIn the areas he completed he selec

Post cancellation collections at an unrealistic amount
I signed up for a membership with Golds Gym over years ago and signed a one year contractNot having the money to cancel due to high cancellation fees I allowed my contract so expireI found out that the contract doesn't expire and I was re-enrolled into another year contract and would have to pay 100's of dollars to pay out the rest of the year plus cancellation feesI instead waiting til the end and was required to send a registered letter to their headquarters and after receiving this letter they cancel the membership days later*** *** *** ** *** ** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** * *** ** *** I received a call approx months after cancelling from a collections agency called "***" that I owe them somewhere between $and $I've also had unjustified amounts taken from my account during the years I was under contract wi

Golds Gym Edmonton Closes May 4th I was charged for the month of May and charged an additional fee for "enhancements" for the month of MayI have never felt so screwed overThis business intentionally withdrew money from me at the beginning of the month and charged me extra, all while they knew they were going to closeI am so helpless in this situation, the gym gave no notice, and is giving no refunds back to their customersI wish I know the owner, I would give him a piece of my mind, and teach them about treating people with respect and fairnessThis gym owner is obviously only out to rob people of their money

Signed a year contractyear is upCan't cancel without days notice and paying a "renewal/annual" fee
I signed a year contract with Gold's gym in and after it expired I was then switched over to a month to month plan through themI get billed twice monthly, and now that I want to cancel my membership, which they said I have to give days even though i'm on a month to month
Not only that, but in order to cancel I have to send a registered letter to the states, and me renewal/annual fee of $comes out at the end of may, so even though I am cancelling prior to that date, because it falls into the time frame, they say I am obligated to pay itTypically I would understand this situation if I was still bound by contract but my contract terms are up and therefore null and voidthe CONTRACT terms are a YEAR contract...not a lifetime
I was told that not only do I have to pay these fees and my renewal/annual fee, but that my next payment doesn't count towards my c

My membership was up for cancellation September 5th, I had given noticed dated the letter attached I handed the letter to the receptionist as I was told there were no managers in at the moment and I could not return at a later date I also then asked for the address where to send it to make sure the payments were cancelled She had given me the address and I had placed it on the *** envelope
I continued making payments until December when the account was closed I at that point called*** to find out why they were still continuing to take the payments They asked for a copy of the letter of cancellation and the tracking numberI was told by the lady there that "it would be taken care of" I have not heard a single word from *** or Golds Gym in the last years regarding any of this.*** ***

Hi, On July 4, I debit payed Gold's Gym *** *** *** $through Interac for a full year gym membership from October to October In late November, early December the gym was shut down for not paying their rent amongst other things, and I have contacted them, their parent company *** *** ***, and their sister company Gold's Gym *** ***, and they have all given me a run around for the past four weeksThe paperwork I have on hand says that I am entitled to a refund since I only got $worth of services from the company on a $purchase, but ASF says they can't do anything about it and *** definitely should be able to, and *** says they can't do anything about it but ASF definitely should be able toThis has been going on back and forth for the past four weeks
I am lost as to what to do since the company is definitely trying to go around the fact that I am entitled to a refund by constantly making me run to another officeT

Golds Gym West Edmonton Mall has sent me to collections and reported me to credit burreau for a membership that has been fulfilled since August the membership was completed and dues were collected on time each monthAfter membership ended they want to collect over $in additional fees for not writting a letter to ehri office requesting my membership endI signed a year contract, this membership is over after the yearNo fees should be accumulated once a year is completeAlso they did not call me once from August 2015- Feb just sent to collections

I became a member at this golds gym in January of while employed in the cityI was laid off in early April of and wrote a letter upon returning back to BC to golds in order to cancel my membershipafter I sent the letter I continued to receive bills from golds gym along with a surcharge because they failed to change my credit card information and could not access my banking (i filled out the information for this twice at the front desk of the gym before moving)I called their payment people, asf payment solutions, in order to fix the issue but they refused to remove any excess charges on my account after my cancellation notice was senti continued getting bills for a gym membership I cancelled from a city I no longer lived in from April until now in December 2016, when I received a letter from the *** *** ** *** collections for $i have paid the *** *** off as to not ruin my credit, however I feel this is very unfair treatment of a person who no

I have been a member at Golds gym for the last monthsWhen I signed up all of the equipment was Inot slight disrepairAfter signing my one year contract several machines have been broken and left unpreparedSeveral sets of weights have been taken from the gym (whole set of ez bars, various weights of dumbbells) and nor the employees and manager know what is happening to themI have contacted the manager before and she pointsaid to the owner for being the cause of the weight disappearancesIn conjunction with the gym losing equipment that initially got me to sign up, the gym also blatantly falsely advertises a hot tub (that has not been operational for the last years) and tanning beds (that were never placed at the facility)

My husband and I signed contracts for servicesThe Gym closed down without notice or warning of any kindI called *** *** *** to negotiate an agreement on the their cancelation fee due to the fact that THEY forced this accessibility issueI didn't choose to cancel

* *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** They have the worst customer service skills I have ever seen They get people to sign up for VIP packages making it sound like an amazing deal Then they get you to put down a $deposit They do point out you can always cancel your contract with hr by calling a 1-number But what they don't tell you is if you change your mind within that hr period they will not give you back your deposit There are no signs posted in the facility stating this and the papers you sign are filled with all sorts of mumble jumbleThe lady that I dealt with was very nice it's the management that has the issue When the lady I was dealing with was trying to explain what I wanted the manager just pointed at the papers I had in front of me and said no No asking how they could make things better She just turned and walked away The lady I was dealing with said to sell the membership Exactly what membership am I selling when all we did was put down a deposit All I wanted was the $deposit back plain and simple I hope that other people read these reviews and don't fall for their stuff They need staff that are better trained to deal with people and give them the full details before they sign any papers
