Very professionalHigh quality work and top notch experienced contractors

I met with their estimator on my property on the St Lawrence RiverThe wood beams over the water and braces needed replacementThe estimator assured me they could do itI took weeks vacation to accommodate being there during this projectThe day the work crew arrived they informed me the water was too deep; 5-' with silt bottom & could not do itThe estimator stated that new beams would go to the second block pier from the water...the work order stated the first pierWe also discussed a new base for the braces, Tom stated that they would use the bases thereTotally inadequate to support the beamsThe dispute over how far back the new beams would extend would cost % MORE than the original estimate and NO new base for the bracesThey offered to build a floating platform to prop up the new beams for leveling and installing the braces...I knew this was not a viable way to work around water...a barge is needed which they could have rentedNo apology for wasting two weeks vacationThe work crew left...I informed Tom his services would no longer be neededMORAL of the storyWoodford Bros cannot do marine work

This company was easy to work with, upfront with cost and expectations and realized the need for timeliness in our situation without even being askedThey were very professional and I would hire them again

The worst experienceThey started the work and within hours called to tell me they couldn't do the work as they stated in the contractThey had already demolished parts of the foundation, and informed me that they would be replacing cinder blocks on a home foundation with woodWood? How do you mix cinder block and wood? The Worst! Fortunately the town shut them down for working without a permit before they could "fix" my foundationTerrible experience and Hugh S*** is a shameless liarDon't do business with these people if you value honesty or competence

Some months back, I wanted to retrofit part of my basement as an exercise roomSomeone named David B*** came from Woodford to do his sales pitchWhen I asked him about the off-gassing/possible toxicity of some of the materials he was suggesting, he had no idea - though at a certain point he seemed to be starting to make things upFinally, he said he would research it and get back to me with more informationHe never didI called him to follow up, he said that he would get back to me, and that was the last I ever heard from him

This is a great company to work with from beginning to endThe technician’s, sales, and office personnel are helpful and friendlyWoodford Brothers stand by a very high quality product and experience

I have a poured concrete slab on my covered front porchOver time the end that butts up to the home has settled about 1/inchAfter reading about polylevel I decided to call woodford brosThe first estimator wasted hours of my time mostly because he was unfamiliar with his laptop and was unable to give me an idea on costHe promised to email me a price quote which he never did, nor did he call meI called woodford bros again and spoke to receptionists who always apologized and promised to get right back to meI asked to speak with the sales manager but she said she asked him and he was on another call and couldn’t speak to meHe suggested another eestimator Four days later they hooked me up with another estimator who arrived on time and was pleasantI like him and he emailed me a quote as promisedI was shocked to see a $+ estimate to raise a slab 1/2”It is literally a few hours jobIt’s not the estimators fault, it’s what Polylevel chart saysTotally crazy price for a si ple repair

Back in November, I tested my house for radon with a test kit that I bought on amazonThe results returned very high levels of radon, so naturally, I looked up some contractors that could give me quotes on installing a radon mitigation system, with Woodford Brothers being one of themI ended up choosing them because although the price was higher, it was still close to the other quotes, and it came with a warrantyThe salesperson (Gabriel) came over on November 24th and we decided on a plan, a price, and an installation dateIn fact, he called the office for me and got the date scheduled right in my living room on the same day that we signed the contractI gave him a check for the deposit ($316), and he left
Everything was going smoothly, until 12/(days before the scheduled start date), when I got an email from Gabriel saying that he forgot to include a warranty – and oh yeah, the “Preferred Customer Discount” cannot be used along with the “Winter Discount” (We scheduled the date for January even though it was November, despite having very high radon levels in my house, because there was a discount for getting the installation done in January due to less work being performed in the winter months.) I had to agree to an $price increase because the discounts clashed, which he wasn't aware of in NovemberI agreed, getting Gabriel to guarantee to me that the installation date would remain the same
So the date of the installation comes along (January 5th), and I hadn't gotten a phone call or email confirming the appointment, so I was just expecting someone to show up that morningI took the installation day off of work back in November, so that I could be home while it was being doneBy 11:am, no one had showed up, so I called the office and they informed me that I wasn't scheduled to have anything done that dayI told them that Gabriel said I could keep the same installation date, and then they directed me to call him and askI called him, and he directed me back to the main office, and said that they handled all the scheduling
I eventually got them to agree to give me a full refundLorrie told me it was in the mail, so I waited a couple days and still didn’t get a check (local mail usually doesn’t take too long)I called Tuesday of the following week, and she tried to gaslight me by insisting we spoke the day beforeI informed her I called during the previous week and that she had told me it was in the mail at that pointSo I said “Alright, I was just checking up because it had been a week since I called.” and then Lorrie blamed MLK day for the delay and said “It’s in the mail.” I said “Thanks,” and she said “Mhmm” in a rude tone and hung up on me
I eventually got the check for a full refund, after weeks of going back and forth of themI ended up talking to their accounting person and she sent it to the correct addressThey somehow had gotten an old address of mine, that I never provided to them, and sent the refund check there, which caused it to return to themI would recommend never doing business with them - it was a huge waste of time and moneyStay away!

Woodford Bros., Incapologizes that our service has been slower than we desire. There is no excuse excepting that we are behind due to workload; however the work is scheduled for today and should be accomplished before the end of the business dayAgain we apologize and look forward to
servicing this and all our accounts in the most expedient manner possible

The Woodford Team of Bill, Mike, and Wayne just finished work on our barn todayFrom start to finish, this team attended to our barn restoration project with the highest degree of professionalismOur barn (built in 1887) was brought back to life, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results! Not only were we kept updated on the progress each day, but always welcomed when we would pop in to take a sneak peakI grew up in a family that ran a successful construction company for almost years before my father passed awayI saw the care my father always invested in all his site projects, and the unique challenges that went with rehabbing/restoring existing historic structuresThis Woodford team offered that same care from start to finish, and managed every one of those challenges with great skill, care, and professionalismI highly recommend this team, and am more than happy to write this review in support of their ongoing work

We put an addition on our house which is on a cement slab years ago which began to sink after years what a night mare! Woodford Brothers saved my house they are awesome Mr Pdid the job and he was wonderful I can't say enough good things about themI made him tell me stories of houses he fixed that were worse than mine just to ease my mind Lol! The whole crew was great only thing I might have them do different is use painters tape for plastic on walls not duct tape ha ha

The coal from wood ford brothers is by far the most terrible coalIt does not burn down to an ash at allClumps up to softball size pieces that do not burnThe bags are all broken and smashed so half of the bag falls down through the shaker grates before it even has a chance to burn at allWhen they were made aware of these issues the only response from the employees was, "oh well, go get it from somewhere else"The quality of their product is pretty much the same as the way their business is ran"Poorly"So in conclusion, don't waist your money buying coal from this companyThey have taught me a lesson that "coal" isn't just "coal"There is better and by far they have the worst, and obviously don't care

In September of I retained Woodford Brothers Construction to analyze and repair my settled front steps They determined that the best course of action was to lift the steps using their "Poly Level" technique Woodford Representative, Rob M*** provided an estimate in writing for the amount of $2, In addition, Rob quoted a price of $per pound of additional fill (if required beyond his estimate)
The job performed not only did not lift the stairs, but left my stairs with a horrid stench, permanent stains on the stairs, and solidified "foam" protruding from the lower portions of the steps In addition, I was charged an additional $for Poly level used above and beyond the quoted amount
Company president, Tom Woodford and I spoke briefly on the phone after the job, and while apologetic, he offered no alternative other than to come back and lift the stairs at a "nominal fee" The nominal fee was $1,additional plus additional costs based on what they might
