This org listed a great deal of personal information about me on their website which I did not authorize them to publish. Want it removed ASAP
This organization has collected a great deal of personal information about me, including my birth date and parents' names, which exposes me to identity theft.
I never gave permission and I want it removed immediately and permanently.
Remove my profile/listing from their website, completely and permanently!

Prabook put online my personal info (DOB, unlisted phone no., address, marital details, mother's maiden name, etc.) w/o my consent; danger ID theft
I have contacted Prabook via email using the email listed for contacting them via their online site, without response (6/8/18 and 6/11/18). Here is part of my 6/8/18 email to them: From: ***, *** (ELS-PHI)

Dear Prabook - I am request again that my personal biographical information be deleted - PERMANENTLY AND COMPLETELY - from your database and all related publications. I had requested this a number of years ago and this was promised, but now I find that my personal information is publicly available at https://prabook.com/web/***_***.***/XXXXXXX. Not only does this leave me vulnerable to identify theft in the current digital age (you have published my date of birth, name, and home address, which is all that is needed to start fake identities/gain access to my medical accounts, etc.), but it puts my professional career options in jeopardy (age discrimination) and makes me vulnerable in other was (public display of my personal like, marriage information, home address). I am horrified to find this mis-use of my personal data. . . . Please REMOVE ALL INFORMATION RELATED TO MY NAME AND IDENTITY IMMEDIATELY AND DO NOT REUSE IT IN FUTURE.
Please CONFIRM THIS HAS BEEN DONE ASAP."
Since I have not heard back from them, I also sent printed letter yesterday. In 2015 they had done the same thing but at the time they responded quickly, said they had deleted entire bio/details. (I have copies of those email messages from 2015.) However, the complete personal entry in my name is now back online with public access to all info needed to access my medical records or complete identity theft in my name. This is dangerous and unethical; info is more than usual online info available elsewhere (Spokeo and similar sites). Prabook has posted online publicly my complete DOB (month, day, year), marital details, mother's maiden name, home street address, unpublished private home phone number, and more, putting me in danger and also potential professional jeopardy (age discrimination in current position). I just happened across this entry when I was doing a Google search on the family name '***'). Prabook's online privacy policy states 'We take steps to secure your personal information against unauthorized access or disclosure' but I can see that they are posting not only my own but other people's detailed personal information publicly available now to anyone using Google. Re- the information for my personal entry/name: None of this information is original to their sit; it looks like they stole it from copyrighted biographical information published in print ~20 years ago by Who's Who, so in addition, they are also infringing on copyright law. However, my main concern is identity theft and invasion of privacy. I want my name and all related information removed permanently and in perpetuity. I do not want to every see my name on their site.
REMOVE ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION AND MY NAME FROM THEIR ONLINE SITE, THEIR DATABASES, AND ENSURE THAT IN FUTURE THEY WILL NO LONGER PUBLISH MY NAME OR ANY RELATED PERSONAL INFORMATION EVER AGAIN. I do not want to appear in their site and I want my personal information removed form their records permanently as they are jeordizing my security (identity theft). I want confirmation they will adhere to this request.

However removing a profile from Prabook cannot guarantee that it won't reappear on our site again, since we cannot control our contributors and outer information sources they use.

I am satisfied that Prabook has removed my name/entry from their site. However, the information that they had placed online about me came from a copyrighted source, Marquis Who's Who, and Prabook has no legal right to publish this information online in the first place. I have spoken with Who's Who as of 6/15/18, and it appears that Prabook has been copying old publications of theirs and posting online; my old Marquis Who's Who entry has been removed as of 6/15/18 per request. However, Marquis Who's Who protects its biographical information by password and does not provide open access to this information online. Further, Prabook does not respond to its posted 'Contact Us' email address, so their 'customer service' is inadequate. To be totally satisfied with this response, I would want them to flag my name in their system via their software so in future they have a way to flag against re-posting this material again, which they have not guaranteed. They have a responsibility to not place living individuals in danger of identity theft and other jeopardy; they also have a responsibility to ensure that what they are posting is not copyrighted information taken from other publications to which they have no right. I should not have to be responsible for having to be vigilant in checkinig that Prabook does not repost this material from Who's Who in the future; that is their responsibility.

While I disagree with Prabook and can see they are in fact not complying with copyright law despite their explanation, I realize this is the best response they are willing to supply and it is pointless to continue this communication further at this time, so I am accepting this response in order to end this communication. Note: It is correct that one cannot copyright facts, but it is also apparent from their site that they are publishing not just facts but actual bio entries taken from Marquis Who's Who and the formatting/presentation of that material is protected by copyright law. Also, that material is not publicly available but protected by password access in the Who's Who database. One cannot just copy written entries from published material online pretty much verbatim. Prabook should take more responsibility for their site's publications (they are responsible for their authors and their postings) and also protect individual's private information as they claim they do in their policy statement. In future, if my information is reposted and I request removal, since they do not respond via email to their 'contact us' address, it appears one would have to go through another Revdex.com complaint in order to confirm their response.
After the Feist Publications vs. Rural Telephone Service case in 1991, mere collections of facts are considered unoriginal and thus not protected by copyright in the US, no matter how much work went into collating them.

Marquis Who's Who provides open factual information per se. They do not own it as they do not create anything apart from the complementation of public facts.
In other words using infromation from Marquis Who's who is not a copyright infringement.
As we said earlier we cannot guarantee that your profile will not re-appear on our site again. Prabook is based on Wiki concept where anyone can make a profile on anyone using open information sources. We do not control our contributors.
This is why according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and Title 17 of the United States Code, the providers of online services have limited liability for copyright infringement and other violations by their users. This exemption was also adopted by the European Union in the Electronic Commerce Directive 2000.
The best we can do is to guarantee that we will remove your profile whenever you make such request, should it somehow appear on our site again.

Stalking, threats, and abuse of information that was taken from the prabook website.
Above is the link to the website that lists my personal information that has been used to stalk and threaten me. I learned that this website was used to gain access to the personal details. I tried to have the information removed about a year ago when the threats began, now I am afraid for my life and concerned that the people who have accessed my personal data from this website will follow through to use the information to apply for credit and jobs in my name as well as threaten the safety of me and my young children.
I would like my entire listing to be FULLY removed from their database, records, online. I do not want my information to reappear on their website on any website associated with this business. I do not want any tracing of my identity left.
