Yak Social Reviews (%countItem)

I received a call from a Yak Social rep on or about 12/10/2019. The young man seemed very nice and was convincing and reassuring that his advertising would bring me business. I signed up. Cost was $500 per month. After 2 months of the service I received zero clients. I had many inquiries that were not at all serious and would never become actual clients. I am a real estate broker. The ad was supposed to bring me buyers and sellers. Most of the so called leads were wanting to rent and I am not in the rental business. Most were late night and on weekends. I called, texted and emailed each and every one of the leads. None were serious and most would not even reply. Many were wrong numbers and emails. The ad asked for their contact info before they could use a home search tool. So, basically 100% of the leads were just wanting to see a list of homes. They few that answered or replied were wanting to rent. I called on one lead and the lady that answered told me the man that that filled out the form was in prison. So that pretty much sums up the quality of these so called leads.
A service costing $500.00 per month needs to provide results. I cannot afford to lose $1000.00, I just can't. Even if the service was free, it still would have been a waste of my time. And time is money.
What business charges that much and does not even care if their clients benefit or not?

Yak Social Response • Mar 19, 2020

Dear ***,

Thank for your honest feedback regarding your short-lived experience with Yak Social. The service we provided you was building and managing an advertising campaign through the Facebook ad platform. Facebook offers many ad objectives, and we commonly run ads for real estate professionals that are optimized for lead capture. This means that someone who sees an ad can click on it and submit a contact form. We ran a lead capture campaign as well as a brand awareness campaign for you. This resulted in reaching over 15,000 people in your area over 50,000 times and 52 people submitting the contact form. Whereas it is possible for you to pick up a new client in the first month or two, we do not guarantee anything in regards to converting the contacts that are submitted through the lead capture ads. We had several conversations and made many adjustments to your campaign over the short time your ads were live. We also created a CRM account for you to help with nurturing your new contacts. We did this at no additional cost. Yak Social does not have control over who responds to the lead capture ads or the information submitted. As you stated, 100% of those who responded wanted to see a list of homes.

I am rejecting this response because: Your answer is vague at best. The bottom line is I spent about $1000 for something that did not work at all. You should care about your clients and make sure you provide an actual value to them. If your service is not working, then you need to fix it so it does work. No excuse you give is viable. If something is not working, it is insane to keep it going. I need my money back. That is the only solution for me.

Sincerely

Thank you ***. There are assuredly no excuses embedded in our initial response, just insight as to how paid social ads generally work. There were no guarantees of acquiring new business, especially in such a short window. We cannot get a performance-based refund from Facebook and recoup the funds, but if a program for this evolves in the future we will keep you in mind.

I am rejecting this response because: In other words you can legally sell a service that does not work. You should care about your customers and follow the golden rule. If the ad was going to work we would know well within the 60 days we had. Either it's gonna work or it's not. It's $500 a month, that is a lot of money for nothing. It's just not right. I need results when I spend $1000. If you spent $1000 wouldn't you require a return on your investment? You are being paid upfront, so there's no incentive for you to truly perform. You got the money, so who cares about your customer. Not good. Please do the right thing and give me a refund. Make it right with me.

Sincerely

Yak Social telemarketed to me on 08/30/2018 at 11:24 AM CST from ***. I asked the caller to please put me on their do not call list. The called laughed. I reminded them that they were obligated to do so and would file a complaint if they refused. They said "OOOOOOH, THIS IS ABOUT BUSINESS AND MONEY!" and continued with their sales pitch. I muted them and returned to work. The call disconnected. The telemarketer from Yak called back using that same number, at that same number, less than 30 seconds later at 11:26 AM CST.

Not only is this aggravating, but it's unethical, poor business practice, and is illegal.

This individual is not, and has never been a client of Yak Social, LLC. They were solicited services by an employee who did not follow a STRICT protocol for this type of circumstance. The employee has been disciplined, and Yak Social will continue to educate our staff on the proper way to treat people. This is very much an isolated incident, and every possible step will be taken to avoid this happening again in the future including, a review of policy, protocol, and training materials required for each sales representative to complete.

This was our official response to this individual:

*** - Thank you for this feedback. First, we would like to apologize for your experience this morning. We can assure you that this is not a common occurrence, in fact this is not something our organization has experienced in our existence. The actions of the employee are in no way representative of our organization or how we operate. There is a strict protocol for a request to be placed on our "Do Not Call" list, which was not followed. As a result, there will be disciplinary action taken. Please, if there is anything further we can do to make this right, let us know. On our end, we will not only address the matter head on, but examine ways to further ensure this will never happen again. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. We do not treat people like this, and it will not be tolerated.

Additionally, we have offered for this individual choose a charitable organization that Yak Social will make a $200 donation to.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:The response is partially correct; I am not, have never been, and will never be a client of Yak Social. I was indeed solicited by them and abused by one of their employees, which we agree upon.At first, I was going to accept Yak Social's explanation. However, a quick *** search of the number used to call me (***) turned up a listing on ***. They note that there are seven FTC Do Not Call complaints lodged against this number from five different states. (With my recent complaint, it'll be eight complaints from six states.) While there is no way to know if these calls were abused like I was, it is clear that Yak's telemarketing number has previously had complaints filed against it relating to the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call List. Speaking frankly, I have been on the list for nearly nine years. Given my experience, it appears they are still not respecting Do Not Call phone numbers as the law requires.Source: https://www.reportedcalls.com/***As for Yak's $200, I don't want their money. I don't want to tell them what to do with their money either. One of their representatives called me and asked me how Yak could make this right. I gave her a simple answer- leave me alone. Knowing that Yak Social's telemarketing number has seven (now eight) FTC complaints against it, now I want them to clean up their act too. They need to stop harassing people like me who register on the Do Not Call list. I went through the trouble of registering my number because I don't want to hear from telemarketers. Receiving Yak Social's unwanted solicitations, and their use of my own personal property to do so, definitely isn't going to make me change my mind and want to use a random caller's services. If Yak Social is unable to determine how to scrub their marketing list of Do Not Call numbers, they need to stop telemarketing until they can telemarket without violating federal law.
Sincerely

Two years ago, when I was contacted by YakSocial to run promotions on my Facebook account, I figured they were just another social media outfit. How glad I am that I gave them a try! They have stayed with me and gotten to know my business ins and outs. They are not pushy. With them on my team, I feel like my social media stuff is handled, so I can give my attention to other matters of business. YakSocial is rock solid and very professional. I would highly recommend them.
