Review: I have had the same garbage service for most of the 13 years I have lived at my current location. On occasion the driver would not pick up the dumpster, and I would get an excuse of some unacceptable material was in the dumpster even though nothing different would have been placed into the dumpster. When contacted, the company would send out a supervisor and they would empty the dumpster. They would not have a good explanation of what the inappropriate material was. Approximately at the beginning of 2014, the driver started to not pick up the dumpster and left a not stating the dumpster was inaccessible. The dumpster is in the same place it has been in for the past 13 years. Nothing has changed around it. The driver insists on leaving the dumpster in the middle of my driveway, perpendicular to the public road and out in the public road. I have had complaints from the neighbors and my road maintenance association because of this. My wife called again on July 15, 2014 at about 0830 and the call taker stated the dumpster was inaccessible and it was our fault the driver could not empty it, and it would cost us an additional pic up fee if we wanted it emptied. My wife then asked for a supervisor and was sent to voice mail.

I would have changed garbage services long ago had I the option. Yakima Waste Systems is the only company the provides service to my area. I feel they can do as they please without repercussions, and I have no choice but pay for a service I'm not getting.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to deliver the service I am paying for, and place the dumpster back off the side of the road so as to stop the ire of my neighbors and road maintenance association.

Response:

Yakima Waste Systems Inc is responding to complaint ID # [redacted] to Resolution Moderator [redacted]. Route supervisor completed a site visit on 7/16/2014 to assess the concerns and the location of the container. After site vist the supervisor contacted the homeowner and discussed options for future pick ups. A new container will exchange to old container so that the container will roll easier in the gravel. YWS will leave the container in the site that was determined with the homeowner and Yakima Waste. If this does work for both parties the container will be moved to the east side of the driveway for easier access by Yakima Waste. Both parties are in agreement.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

A supervisor did make contact with me and we did agree to replace the dumpster. I also would be agreeable to moving the dumpster to the East side of the driveway. This agreement was verbal over the phone.

Thank you for your prompt response and time in this matter.

Review: I called on Tues Sept. 2 2013 to have a large garbage unit delivered (20 ton) I PAID FOR IT IN ADVANCE and was told that the unit would be delivered to my home no later than Friday. Well, its Friday and I have garbage overflowing all over my driveway, flying into the neighbors yards... neighbors complaining of the smell. Now its raining and mattresses are getting soaked and very heavy. They LIED TO ME when they said it would be delivered by this Friday. They lost the order and then LIED TO ME and then refunded my money by crediting my bank acct. without consulting me first, as they told me they were investigating the issue and told me they would call me back. The manager does not seem to want to take my phone calls either. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. And they don't seem to care that they have in essence created a HEALTH HAZARD for my neighbors. I am very disguested with this outfit as they know they have their customers over a barrel and do not seem to care how they treat their customers.Desired Settlement: The only way they can make this right is to deliver that unit TODAY. Or, if they dont' have that size, deliver a larger one on them as it was THEIR MISTAKE. Or, agree to pay me all of the dump fees, gas and time it will take to dispose of this myself.

Response:

This customer placed an order for a 30yd roll off container 9/3/13 @ 10:50am and did make a $100.00 prepayment by credit card. Our delivery policy is that we will deliver the container within in one week of when the order is placed unless the customer specifies a date in which we do not gaurentee but will do our best to deliver when requested. This particular order did not have a date specified for delivery. 9/6/13 10:44am customer called in requesting status of delivery. The CSR explained that she will have to check with the Route Supervisor and call her back. CSR called the Route Supervisor and was told that there was not a container available for delivery, as soon as one became available we would deliver it. He did have the order, it was not lost. The CSR called the customer back and explained the information she had been given at that time the customer requested the order be cancelled and her money be refunded. 9/6/13 11:49am Customer called back upset that the CSR cancelled the order and refunded her prepayment. The CSR again contacted the Route Supervisor to see if there is an possible way to deliver the customer a container. He promised to have one delivered to her Saturday 9/7/13 first thing in the morning. The CSR called and spoke to the husband which he said that would work perfect to have one delivered on Saturday, the CSR explained all of the pricing charges that would be applied. 9/7/13 The garbage container was delivered to the customer first thing in the morning.

If you should have any further questions, please let me know.

Thank you

Review: For the third week in a row, my garbage has not been collected. I first contacted Yakima Waste Systems on January 8, 2016 to find out why my garbage had not been picked up that day. The woman I spoke with couldn't give me an explanation and said that I was allowed to put an additional can out the following collection day (the next Friday). I came home on Friday, January 15th to find, once again, my garbage cans had not been collected. I set my cans out the previous evenings so I know it wasn't a case of putting them out to late. I go to work way before they are collected, but still choose to set them out the night before, just in case. The Yakima Waste System offices were already closed when I called so I left a voicemail requesting a credit to my account and that my garbage cans be collected as soon as possible. I received a call back on Monday, January 18th and was told the company doesn't give credits on accounts. I explained that I have not received the service I have paid for for now two weeks in a row and that there is no reason I should not be credited for that breach of service. She explained that I should probably try to drag my garbage cans closer to the main road and that maybe it was because of the snow that the driver hasn't been picking my cans up. I asked her how she would know that and she said she couldn't confirm it because the driver didn't leave any notes about it. I then told her it was a quarter mile to the main road and that's why I pay extra for "drive-in service." I again insisted that I be given a credit for the two weeks that I didn't receive the service I had paid for. She again insisted that Yakima Waste Systems doesn't give credits, but that she would send out a request for someone to come pick up my cans, but that she didn't know when that would be. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and she cut me off and sent me to a gentleman's voicemail, whom I'm assuming was the supervisor. I left a voicemail and explained my predicament. I have never received a call back; that was five days ago. Yesterday, Friday, January 22nd, my garbage was once again not retrieved (the third week in a row). I emailed the company with my now fourth complaint and made them aware I am contacting the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I am asking for two things, one, that my account be credited for the now three weeks my garbage has not been collected and, two, that I received a collection immediately. I have no more cans to put garbage in and quite frankly, I'm on a one can service and it's fortunate I even had a back-up can to use. I have reached out to company now for the fourth time with no results and after 13 years of great service can no longer say I think as highly of Yakima Waste Systems as I once did. I hope to resolve this soon. Thank you.

Response:

Customer was credited 10.92 for one months service. The company was experiencing very difficult service conditions in Jan.2016 due to the amount of snow on the ground 8 to 14 inches in this service area. I personally went out in a pick-up truck & picked up this customers refuse and they have not had any service issue's since. We generally do not credit customers when the service is missed do to inclement weather as they are allowed to double up the amount of refuse to set out on the next scheduled pick-up date, but due to the length of missed service the customer was credited.

Review: We have contacted YWS since April of 2014 concerning our waste bin. It is a large utility unit and it is rotting out at its base. It won't be long till all our waste will be in our drive way when the bottom gives out. We put in a request for a replacement unit in April. We have called them several times without getting an answer and three time when we've actually spoken with someone since April and each time we have been told they will look into it. The last time we called we asked to speak to the manager but were told he wasn't available. They said a message would be given to him to call us back. That was last week and we have not received a call. We pay our bill on time and have been customers for a long time (mostly because YWS is a monopoly as no one else services our area, grrrr) and we are fed up with being ignored.Desired Settlement: We want a comparable trash bin that is not rusted out. An apology letter for ignoring us would be nice, but we'll take what we can get.
